            Wed. Jan. 1: "A Happy new year. I husked corn part of the day and chored around It is a cloudy and dark foggy day Smith came over & filed our saw.  Harolds cold is not much better he stays around the house it is a warm day the snow is nearly all gone. It rained hard at night."

            Thur. Jan. 2: "I chored around and husked corn most of the day and it is very muddy going and in the forenoon I went down to Argyle & done some business at the bank and it is muddy but warm."

            Fri. Jan. 3: "It snowed a lot last night  I husked some in the forenoon and in the afternoon I took a big grist down to West Hebron & left it and the snow is nearly 6 inches but it came in the mud & for that reason there is no sleighing but it is hard wheeling   colder at night but is cloudy."

            Sat. Jan. 4: "In the forenoon I chored around and it snowed part of the time & in the afternoon it cleared of & is colder   I went down to West Hebron & got the grist   some sleighs going but it is hard going any way. cold at night"

            Sun. Jan. 5: "We did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home and kept house and done the chores and it is a nice pleasant day but cold in the morning & White frost   hard traveling."

            Mon. Jan. 6: "In the forenoon I chored around & sorted some potatoes & wrote some in the house and in the afternoon I took John C. down to see the Doctor at West Hebron & to get some Medicine for James  he is sick to day and it is a pleasant day but cold   some sleighs but not much sleighing."

            Tues. Jan. 7: "In the forenoon I cut some apple tree wood back of the barn & Harry brought the children over & his woman   they stayed all day and in the afternoon I sorted some potatoes and cut some apple tree wood back of the barn & it is a nice day some warmer it looks like a storm. James is some better to-day but Johnnies sore on his head is no better."

            Wed. Jan. 8: "I husked corn part of the day and chored around it is a cloudy day & James is laying around yet & John Cs head is no better   about night Mother & Harold took John C. down to West Hebron to see the Doctor and they went in a sleigh but not very good sleighing."

            Thur. Jan. 9: "I husked corn most of the day and it is a nice day not very cold but cloudy and looks like a storm   James is laying on the lounge and John C's head is not much better but don't feel very bad   I am getting pretty well along husking."

            Fri. Jan. 10: "I chored around and sorted some potatoes and it snowed some last night & got colder & was a fierce night wind blew a terrible gale but it got some warmer through the day but is cold enough yet. James don't seem to be so well to-day & John C is about the same."

            Sat. Jan. 11: "I chored around and I sorted a few potatoes it is a fierce day   wind is in the north & getting colder all day   it is pretty fair sleighing now around here, it is so cold I stayed in the house most of the day. James is about the same & Marjory & Mary E. are sick too. John Cs head is about the same   the Doctor came up to see them"

            Sun. Jan. 12: " 23º below   It is the coldest we have had yet but it is still & pleasant   the sun is warm but is cold in the shade or on the north side   We did'nt go to church to day so all stayed at home. Harry came over & brought Earl & stayed till most night and it is a nice pleasant day but cold the children are some better to day."

            Mon. Jan. 13: "14º below   In the forenoon I took a grist down to West H. & had to leave it and I got some Medicine for James & John C.   they are about the same & in the afternoon I cut some apple tree wood back of the barn and it is a nice pleasant day   cold but some warmer to-day."

            Tues. Jan. 14: "In the morning after we done the chores I went down to West H. after the grist and took John C with me to see the Dr about his head   he is getting along pretty well. James don't seem to be getting better very fast   he keeps vomiting and in the afternoon Marion & Harry Oliver & I drove the young team down to Argyle & got some Groceries   the sleighing is getting poor   it is a nice warm day  thawed some."

            Wed. Jan. 15: "I chored around and I husked corn what time I had left   the boys are about the same. it is warmer again and it seems good too."

            Thur. Jan. 16: "I have got a cold in the morning   after we done the chores I took John C down to see the Dr  he says his head is doing nicely   James is some better to-day we think   in the after-noon I husked some corn and chored around the sleighing is most gone it keeps thawing some."

            Fri. Jan. 17: "I chored around and I husked some corn and I finished the corn & I am some better with my cold. the boys are doing better I think. James is up around to-day and it thawed some it is fine winter weather no mistake   the wind got in the West at night   some cooler but not bad."

            Sat. Jan. 18: "In the forenoon I went over & helped Harry to kill his pig and then I cut some apple tree wood and Harold & Mother took John C down to see the Dr at West Hebron and in the afternoon Harold & I drawed wood from up on the side hill back of the barn & in the orchard too and Marion, Hazel & Marjory drove down to Argyle & got some cro___" (unreadable) "& done some trading and it is a nice pleasant day. warm as spring   thawed a lot."

            Sun. Jan. 19: "Marion, Hazel & Harold went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and Mother & I stayed at home and kept the youngsters I am having a time with the Hiccoughs   it is a nice pleasant day thawed a lot."

            Mon. Jan. 20: "In the forenoon I cut some apple tree wood back of the barn and in the afternoon Marion took Hazel & John C down to West Hebron   John C. too see the Dr. and Hazel to try the Regents Examination and Harry came over & we sawed at the maple tree in the back orchard but did'nt get it down and it is a nice day but cold in the morning."

            Tues. Jan. 21: "Harry came over and he helped me all day to cut the big maple tree down along the road below the barn and we got it down  it fell across the road and we got part of it cut & sawed up.  it is a big tree & fell in a bad place  It is a peach of a day   thawed just like a spring day pleasant too."

            Wed. Jan. 22: "Harry came over and he and I worked at the maple tree all day   we got the road clear but did'nt get the tree all worked up   we took the team down & snaked the 2 but logs down so we could saw them and in the morning Mother took John C & Hazel down to West Hebron Hazel went to the Examination & she took John C. down to see the Dr his head is about the same they stayed all day   it is a cloudy but warm day."

            Thur. Jan. 23: "Harry came over & we worked at the tree & got it all sawed up & drawed the 3 big butt logs up to the house on the stone boat we got down about the middle of the afternoon & it came on rain then & came right down   John Cs head is about the same and it is some muddy."

            Fri. Jan. 24: "It rained a lot last night but cleared off and was windy & kept getting colder all day a fearful wind about night & cold too. I chored around sorted some potatoes & cut up the limbs that was at the door and is rough. John Cs head is about the same."

            Sat. Jan. 25: "In the morning Harold & I took John C down to West Hebron to see the Dr. & he wants us to take John C down to the Hospital at Cambridge next Monday and in the afternoon the boys & I cut some apple tree wood back of the barn and it is a nice day   cold in the morning but got warmer before night."

            Sun. Jan. 26: "We did'nt go to church so we all stayed at home and kept house and done the chores & John Cs head is about the same   he seems to feel well and it is a cloudy day but not very cold   it is warm but is getting colder at night."

            Mon. Jan. 27: "In the morning after we done the chores Mother & I & John C got ready & Rob Smith came here with his Automobile & took us all down to Cambridge to the Hospital so the Doctors could see John C. head   we did'nt have to stay long and got back home a little after one o'clock and his head is doing well I guess and Marion & Hazel stayed at home & kept the youngsters & when we got back I sold the Ben Davis apples to Rob S. 25 bbls for 55.00 and it is a cloudy & windy day but thawed some & is good going."

            Tues. Jan. 28: "In the forenoon Marion & Hazel went down to W. Hebron to get some Med. for John C. and I cut some apple tree wood and Rob & Harry came over & they sorted the apples & I helped them   they got 25 bbls of sorted apples & put a load 13 bbls on our big wagon Harry is going to take them out to Glens Falls to-morrow & Rob took 6 bbls on his car and it is a nice day   it thawed some and is cloudy & looked like snow about night and did snow at night   John C. is getting along."

            Wed. Jan. 29: "It snowed enough last night to make the ground white   this morning Harry started early with the load of apples and I chored around and sorted some potatoes and it is a nice day   it thawed some. I cut some wood apple trees."

            Thur. Jan. 30: "I chored around & I cut some apple tree wood back of the barn and sorted some potatoes and it is a nice day   mild winter & it thawed some   Johnnies Head is is getting along very well we think"

            Fri. Jan. 31: "I cut some wood back of the barn apple tree in the forenoon and in the afternoon the wind blew so hard that I did'nt cut much wood I sat in the house   it is getting colder all day    at night Marion, Hazel & Harold went over to Jim Lants to a party."

            Sat. Feb. 1: "In the forenoon Mother & James took John C down to see the Dr at West Hebron & got some more ointment   he is getting along pretty well we think and Harold & I drawed wood up to the house all day with the big team & truck wagon   we got the old maple all up & some of the apple tree wood and it is a nice pleasant day but a cold morning   it thawed some"

            Sun. Feb. 2: "Marion, Hazel, Harold & Marjory went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and Mother & I stayed at home and kept the youngsters and after dinner our folks went over to Smiths to see the children & Harry came over here awhile   It is a nice pleasant day cold nights."

            Mon. Feb. 3: "In the morning Harold & I sawed down some apple trees and I cut them up in cord wood and at night Harold helped me to cross cut some big limbs & we cut or sawed down 1 tree or two. and it is a nice pleasant day   fine winter weather dust is flying just like summer."

            Tues. Feb. 4: "In the morning Harold helped me to saw down the rest of the trees & I cut at them all day   at night Harold & I sawed some of the big limbs and it is a nice day   cool nights but nice days   warm & dusty g  ood time to run Automobiles.  John Cs head is getting better now."

            Wed. Feb. 5: "In the forenoon Harry came over & brought his team & wagon and helped us to draw up the apple tree wood from back of the barn and in the afternoon he took our team and went down to North Argyle & got his rye thresher & put it down in the Horse barn cellar and at night we all went down to West Hebron to a lecture course in the 3 seated wagon and it is a windy day & looks like a storm but not very cold."

            Thur. Feb. 6: "I burned apple tree brush all day back of the barn and the little ones helped me some and Margaret cow had a calf and it is a cloudy day but not cold at all   fine going now."

            Fri. Feb. 7: "In the forenoon Marion went down to West Hebron and got some medicine for John C. & I am not feeling very well & in the afternoon I went down to Argyle to see Conway about some business and it is fine going   roads are dusty as summer time   John C is getting along very well now."

            Sat. Feb. 8: "In the forenoon the boys & I trimmed what trees there is back of the barn & then we gathered the rest of the brush and burnt it   all burnt now and in the afternoon Harold & James took a big grist down to West Hebron & got it home   all but the buckwheat flour and I went over & helped Smith to saw some wood & it is a nother nice day some cloudy and about night it looked like a storm."

            Sun. Feb. 9: "In the morning the ground was white again   it snowed a little last night but it mostly thawed off before night   Marion, Hazel & Marjory went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school & Mother & I stayed at home & kept the youngsters and it is a nice pleasant day it thawed some. fine going."

            Mon. Feb. 10: "In the morning we got word that the Fertilizer was out to Fort Edward so when I got the chores done I went out after it   ½ ton and I took out some Buckwheat & got it Floured and it is a pleasant day but cold   dusty roads as summer."

            Tues. Feb. 11: "I chored around and cut limbs most of the day at the door and sorted a few potatoes   it is cold nights but pleasant days and nice roads."

            Wed. Feb. 12: "In the forenoon I cut some limbs at the door & Alenzer Day came down & killed our Bull & he took the Hide and in the afternoon Harry came over & helped me to Saw down 2 Maple trees in front of the house and then the boys & I cut up part of them and it is a nice pleasant day   cold nights."

            Thur. Feb. 13: "In the morning Mother took John C down to see the Doctor he don't seem to be getting along very well   I cut wood in the yard most of the day & chored around   it is a beautiful day   warmer   at night I went down to the school house to the cheese Factory."

            Fri. Feb. 14: "It snowed part of the day  Hail & rain too   it is a nasty day  I cut up the beef and sorted some potatoes and it is a cloudy day   James was sick to-day   John C is about the same."

            Sat. Feb. 15: "In the forenoon Harold took the young team down Lewis' and got them shawd and I chored around and in the afternoon Harold, Marion & Hazel went to church and heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and I sorted potatoes and it is nasty going  muddy   the snow melted away almost."

            Sun. Feb. 16: "Harold, Marion & Hazel went to church and it was sacrament & they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and Mother & I stayed at home and kept the youngsters & Harry brought Rubys children over & left them here to-day and it is a cool day and cloudy   it thawed some & is muddy."

            Mon. Feb. 17: "In the morning after we done the chores Mother, Marjory, John C & I got ready & Rob. Smith took us down to Cambridge to the Hospital in his Auto and we got home early and I chored around till night and it is a nice pleasant day   some cooler but thawed up & was real muddy & sloppy coming home."

            Tues. Feb. 18: "In the forenoon I went over to Smiths and got the saw and drawed up a load of wood and in the afternoon I threshed the Beans and drawed up the rest of the wood that the maple trees made in the yard and it is a cool windy day but thawed some cold night."

            Wed. Feb. 19: "In the morning Harry & Will James came over & sawed our wood & I handed it on  Harold helped in the forenoon but in the afternoon Earl Rubys little boy was sick again & James was too & Harold went down to Argyle & brought up Dr. Lewis to see them & he had to take him down again   we got the wood all sawed but it was late   we called it 8 cords  It is a nice pleasant day but cold   it is a Winters day."

            Thru. Feb. 20: "I split some wood & cut some limbs at the door most all day and in the afternoon  Mother & Marion went over to see Earl he is better to-day   James is some better to-day too. it is a  nice day   some cool   at night Harold & I went down to a milk meeting at the school house."

            Fri. Feb. 21: "I split wood and cut the rest of the limbs at the door and I threshed the rest of the beans & cleaned them up and run the wagon in the barn and in the forenoon Mother took John C down to West Hebron to get some medicine for him   In the afternoon it began snowed & the ground is white   at night & after supper Harry came over & got Mother to stay with the children for them to go away."

            Sat. Feb. 22: "The ground was white with snow but the most of it thawed away & in the forenoon I sorted some potatoes and in the afternoon I took a grist down to West Hebron & left it. Harry Smith & Harold went with me and attended a potato meeting   10 Farmers are going to load 4 carload of potatoes week after next and take chances & it is a cloudy day but warm & muddy."

            Sun. Feb. 23: "It snowed about 8 inches last night & snowed some through the day   it is very wet & sticks to everything. We did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home and kept House."

            Mon. Feb. 24: "I done the chores and I sorted potatoes most of the day. It thawed some and is a pleasant day but very nasty under foot. our potatoes are a bad mess  rotten very badly. pretty good sleighing around here."

            Tues. Feb. 25: "In the forenoon I went down to West Hebron & took John C down to see the Doctor we had to wait sometime   Harry O. went with us and we got the grist   we went in sleighs but there was no sleighing and when I got home I chored around & split some wood it looks like a storm."

            Wed. Feb. 26: "It snowed about 8 inches last night & came very wet & soft but got colder in the morning and I drawed 2 loads of ice for Theodore & in the afternoon we made up our mind to put up some ice so we went to work & read out the ice bin & I went over to the lake & drawed over 3 loads of ice & Edwin drawed 2 loads of ice for us we did'nt pack it. it is quite cold at night & was good sleighing to day over to the lake."

            Thur. Feb. 27: "In the forenoon the boys stayed at home & Mother & they helped me to pack the ice and Hugh Sloan came over & done some business & in the afternoon I chored around & sorted some potatoes and Marion was not feeling very well. it is a nice pleasant day it thawed some."

            Fri. Feb. 28: "I chored around & sorted potatoes most of the day and Marion  is no better so we had the Doctor come up to see her   she has the Jandice. it is a nice day thawed quite a lot and at night it looked like a storm."

            Sat. Mar. 1: "It rained hard last night & a strong South wind blew a gale. the snow is nearly all gone again & very muddy  Marion is about the same and I sorted potatoes nearly all day   they are rotten mess   it is a clear day but windy & cooler."

            Sun. Mar. 2: "We did'nt go to church to day so all stayed at home and kept house and it is a  nice pleasant day but muddy   it frooze but soon all thawed out in the sun."

            Mon. Mar. 3: "In the morning after we done the chores all hands loaded up 2 loads of potatoes and Harold took Prince & Mollie & me the big team & we took the giants down to Salem about 85 bu we are shipping them & we got home after dark we had to wait to get onloaded and it is a nice pleasant day but hard going."

            Tues. Mar. 4: "In the morning after we done the chores we all went at loading up potatoes both loads   Harold & James took a load & I took 1 down to Salem we had on about 90 bu and it is hard going   we got home after night a while. it looks some like rain at night."

            Wed. Mar. 5: "In the morning after we done the chores we all went at loading up potatoes and we started with both loads but Harold left his load down at the Hays Farm in the barn & left his team & went with me & led his team home when we came back. It got colder after we got onloaded & kept getting colder & rain hailed & snowed at night. it was the worst going I ever saw   the bottom seemed to fall out all to once."

            Thur. Mar. 6: "It snowed some last night & was real cold in the morning after we done the chores I took about 10 bu on the milk wagon & went down to the Hayes Farm & took Harolds load & put on what I had & brought both wagons home and it is a cold raw day but thawed up again but was cold at night."

            Fri. Mar. 7: "I did'nt go with a load to day   it was to rough for me. In the forenoon I split wood & in the afternoon I sorted potatoes & chored around. and it is a cloudy day but thawed out a lot it is some warmer."

            Sat. Mar. 8: "In the morning after we done part of the chores we loaded up 1 load of potatoes & Harold & James put some on the milk wagon about 12 bu & took them down below West Hebron & then put them on my load & I got home before night awhile and it went better to-day   Peter Busseno got the 4 cars filled and it is a nice day cool."

            Sun. Mar. 9: "We did'nt go to church so all stayed at home and kept house and it is a rainy day rained & frooze as it came in the morning but got thawing later and again at night it cleared of & got colder."

            Mon. Mar. 10: "In the forenoon I went down to Argyle and got a load of saw dust and in the afternoon I split some wood & sorted some potatoes and put the sawdust on the ice down in the barn cellar and it is a nice day only cooler & very muddy."

            Tues. Mar. 11: "I split wood at the door most of the day sorted a few potatoes and it is a nice pleasant day   pretty muddy"

            Wed. Mar. 12: "I split wood nearly all day at the door and chored around   cooler pleasant and I started to top the trees but the bit I had I could'nt use so did'nt   it thawed out & was muddy as ever"

            Thur. Mar. 13: "In the morning it began getting colder & kept at it all day   windy & frooze solid by night   in the morning Marion went down to Argyle & got some jars, oil & some gas for Smith & in the forenoon I split wood and in the afternoon I went over & helped Smith to saw his wood"

            Fri. Mar. 14: "In the forenoon I chored around & split wood & I got through with the wood and in the afternoon I sorted some potatoes and at night Marion, Hazel & Harold went down to West Hebron to a show & Mother went over to Smiths awhile  Earl was sick & he also had a sick Horse   it is cold & rough   a winters day   zero in places."

            Sat. Mar. 15: "We topped the trees  it frooze hard last night again & rough  I chored around & sorted potatoes part of the day and Mother went over to Smiths to see the children   Earl is some better but Harold is sick   the Horse is some better and it is some cloudy & looks like rain   the roads dried up a lot to-day."

            Sun. Mar. 16: "Rain, Hail & snow any thing to make bad roads again we did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at  home and done chores & kept house   it kept thawing   the ice hung on the trees but kept dropping off."

            Mon. Mar. 17: "In the morning we loaded up a load of potatoes Giants and the boys took part of a load down to the stone house & put what they had on my load and I took the load down to Salem 50 bu at 90¢ per bu and it is terrible going   it is a cloudy day & looks like rain"

            Tues. Mar. 18: "It rained a lot last night & rained part of the forenoon I did'nt go with potatoes to-day   I chored around & sorted potatoes and I sold a load of round potatoes to be taken out to Glens Falls for 1.00 per bu to be taken this week."

            Wed. Mar. 19: "In the morning we loaded potatoes   the boys took part of a load down below West Hebron & I took a load down to Salem at 90¢ per bu. & it is terrible going  I got home late and it is a cloudy day"

            Thur. Mar. 20: "In the morning we loaded up a load of potatoes and the boys took part of a load down to the Brick school house by Burnetts & I took the load on down to Salem at 90¢ per bu and it is terrible going   the roads are drying up some but the mud is so stiff that a load drawed hard as ever & it is a beautiful day pleasant & acts like spring   I got home early to-day."

            Fri. Mar. 21: "In the forenoon I sorted potatoes and in the afternoon I took the team down to Lewis' to get shawd & sorted potatoes when I came back and it is a nice pleasant day but the wind got in the north colder all afternoon  roads are drying up"

            Sat. Mar. 22: "In the morning we got up early and done the chores & then we loaded up a load of potatoes & the boys took part of a load down to Argyle & then put them on my load & I took the load out to Glens Falls to Mr. Metzner 56 1/3 bu @ 1.00 per bu and the roads are good from Argyle and it is a cold raw & windy day   I got home about dark. It frooze hard last night."

            Sun. Mar. 23: "Marion, Hazel & Marjory went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron & they stayed for sunday school & Mother & I stayed at home and kept house and the youngsters. and it is a nother windy day   cool & drying up the roads."

            Mon. Mar. 24: "In the morning after we done the chores we loaded up a load of potatoes and the boys took part of a load down to the stone House and put it on my load & I took the load down to Salem 57 bu at 90¢ Giants and it is very good going now from the stone house and the roads are dried up in good shape   I got home in good season and it is is a a nice day some cloudy."

            Tues. Mar. 25: "In the forenoon I cut some wood to boil sap and sorted potatoes and in the afternoon I took some potatoes 10 bu down to Charles Barkleys & changed them for some Pan Americans and I cleaned out the back House & sorted some more potatoes. and it is a beautiful day drying up fast."

            Wed. Mar. 26: "In the morning Harry came over & he & I took the Horns of the young cattle and rung the pigs and we put them over in the hog pen & then his man & us went over back of the hill & cut brush along the lien fence and in the afternoon we all cut brush up along the Lien & we finished the job it was a mean job too. and it is a warm day some cloudy & looked like rain."

            Thur. Mar. 27: "In the forenoon I went over back & helped Smith burn the brush & stretch the wire fence and Harold & James took the young team & took the Wire fence & stretcher & tools up where we was and we got the brush burned & fence stretched & got posts sat. and in the afternoon I got the plow out & began plowing in the field cross from the barn and it is a warm day & cloudy & began raining before night a little & rained hard after night"

            Fri. Mar. 28: "It rained a lot last night & turned to snow in the night & snowed all day and blowed & snowed a blizzard & was cold too. a back set in earnest. & cold   I stayed in the house nearly all day & wrote & it is the worst Winters day we have had this Winter."

            Sat. Mar. 29: "It is cold & still storming some I chored around & it is cloudy   I wrote some & sorted some potatoes & chored around   it don't thaw   the North wind blew all day and is the cold & roughest weather we have had this Winter."

            Sun. Mar. 30: "Marion, Hazel, Harold & Marjory went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and Mother & I stayed at home and kept the youngsters and it is a cloudy day but is some warmer to day."

            Mon. Mar. 31: "I took the children to school and chored around & sat around the house & wrote some  it is Winter weather in earnest the snow does'nt melt any and is cold at night as winter."

            Tues. Apr. 1: "In the forenoon after we done the chores Harold, James & I went down to Argyle   I done some business at the bank & brought home some groceries and in the afternoon it was pleasant & some warmer & I wrote some & chored around. It snowed some in the morning but cleared off & got some warmer but cold yet. no school to-day."

            Wed. Apr. 2: "In the forenoon I chored around and sorted some potatoes and in the afternoon I went down to Argyle and got a load of saw dust and it is pretty hard going & cold at night too. at night I got word from Salem to take a load of Giants for 90¢ per bu.”

            Thur. Apr. 3: “In the morning after we done the chores we loaded up a load of Giant potatoes and the boys took part of the load down to the stone house & I took the load down to Salem 49 2/3 bu at 90¢ per bu to Mr. Roberson and I got home good season   the roads were fair but muddy & lots of snow in the roads in places.”

Apr. 4: “It rained some in the forenoon & I chored around & sorted some potatoes and in the afternoon I took some Butter over to Barney McKinneys Farm and went by North Argyle & took a crate of eggs from Sam Blacks over there & came back by Argyle & got some groceries and it is terrible muddy going   the snow is nearly all melted of the roads.”

            Sat. Apr. 5: “In the forenoon we chored around and drawed some manure with the big team up on the side hill back of the barn and in the afternoon the boys drawed some manure up in the same place with the little team and I sorted some round potatoes and it is a cloudy day looks like rain very nasty & muddy.”

            Sun. Apr. 6: “We did’nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home and kept house   Rubys little boy Earl came over & stayed here all day and it is some cloudy   the ground & roads do not dry up very fast.”

            Mon. Apr. 7: “In the morning after we done the chores we loaded up a load of potatoes & the boys took part of the load down to the stone house & I took the load of Giants down to Salem 55 bu @ 90¢ & I got a bbl of Flour. and it is terrible going yet it was most night when I got home and it is a cloudy day & rained some too.”

            Tues. Apr. 8: “I plowed nearly all day in the field cross from the barn and in the afternoon Mother & Marion went down to West Hebron and it is a nice pleasant day some warmer.”

            Wed. Apr. 9: “I plowed most of the day in the field cross from the barn and after school was out Harold dragged some with the young team and after that the boys and I went over to Norman Mahaffys and got some Pan American Potatoes 15 bu @ 90¢ and it is a nice day some cooler   It rained last night:

Apr. 10: “In the morning after we done the chores we loaded up a load of early potatoes and it came on rain & we backed the load into the barn cellar and I did'nt go with them   I chored around & sorted some potatoes and it is a nasty day and after school was out the boys & I drawed out some manure up on the side hill back of the barn. a nasty time.”

            Fri. Apr. 11: “It is a rainy day a nasty time in earnest   I chored around and sorted some potatoes and the potatoes are a rotten mess in the cellar. I sorted some early potatoes seconds   it is some cooler at night   It rained showers at night right down too.”

            Sat. Apr. 12: “In the morning after we done the chores I took the load of potatoes out to Glens Falls to E. S. Theobald   Early ones at 1.00   45 bu. and in the forenoon the boys took a grist down to West Hebron & got it back. It was after night when I got home   I came back by Barney McKinneys & got pay & Groceries for our butter and it is terrible going out to Fort Edward It is a cloudy & cool day.”

            Sun. Apr. 13: “Marion, Hazel, Marjory & Harold went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and Mother & I stayed at home and kept the youngsters and about night Smith brought the children & his Wife over here awhile and it is a nice day but is cooler.”

            Mon. Apr. 14: “I plowed all day in the field cross from the barn and after school was out Harold dragged some with the smoothing Harrow & it is a nice day some cloudy”

            Tues. Apr. 15: “In the morning I sowed the grass seed on the rye down in the field above the lower House and then I went over & finished plowing in the field cross from the barn and in the afternoon I went down & began plowing in the big field for oats and after school was out the boys took a grist down to West Hebron & got it back home and it is a nice day some cloudy & cool too.”

            Wed. Apr. 16: “In the forenoon I went down & plowed in the big field and Mother & Hazel went down to West Hebron & got Hazels dress fixed and in the afternoon it came on rain & was nasty   I chored around & sorted a few potatoes”

            Thur. Apr. 17: “big rain last night In the morning after we done the chores I went down in the big field and got the plow & went up on top of the hill back of the barn & began plowing sod   it plows nice but plenty wet   it is a cloudy & cool day   a nasty time no mistake   Mother cow had a calf    at noon Clayton Barkley came up & got a load of Oats 85 bu @ 80¢ per bu.”

            Fri. Apr. 18: “I plowed most of the day up on top of the hill back of the barn  sod & it came on rain about 4 o’clock & drove me to the house   the boys draged the rest of the oat ground cross from the barn & drew some stone of and after supper Mother & Hazel went down to West Hebron & got Hazels dress. muddy going.”

            Sat. Apr. 19: “In the forenoon I sowed the oats in the field cross from the barn & Harold & James dragged them in both teams spring & smoothing Harrows and in the afternoon they finished it & I put up some potatoes in bags & then I took the big team & went up on top of the hill & plowed & the boys rolled part of the oats and it is a nice day some shower to day for the first in some time. it frooze some last night”

            Sun. Apr. 20: “Marion, Hazel & Harold went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and Mother & I stayed at home and kept the youngsters & it is a nice day but rather cloudy and rained a little.”

            Mon. Apr. 21: “I plowed all day over in the big field for oats and it is a good day for plowing some cloudy and after school was out the boys rolled some of the oat ground cross from the barn and it is drying up fast now.”

            Tues. Apr. 22: “I plowed all day down in the big field and it is drying up in good shape now after school was out the boys finished rolling the oats in & then came down & dragged in the big field with the smoothing Harrow and it is a nice day some warmer.”

            Wed. Apr. 23: “I plowed all day down in the big field for oats and after school was out the boys came down & dragged with the smoothing Harrow & drawed off some stone and it is a nice day in the forenoon Marion drove prince down to West Hebron & got a shoe put on & Mary came home with her & it is a nice day”

            Thur. Apr. 24: “In the morning I went over in the big field & plowed awhile & then it came on rain & drove me to the house and it rained the rest of the day & before night a little it got colder fast too & frooze. I chored around & sorted some second potatoes.  Harold took Mollie over to Smiths & got her clipped.  In the afternoon Mother took her Mother down home at West Hebron.”

            Fri. Apr. 25: “A winters morning in earnest it was frooze so hard that I could not plow till about 10 o’clock & then I plowed the rest of the day over there it was rather wet in one spot. after school was out the boys came down & dragged with the smoothing Harrow & it is a disagreeable day as I ever plowed   Hard work to keep warm”

            Sat. Apr. 26: “It was frooze so hard I could’nt plow till about 10 o’clock & the ground was covered with snow it was thawed away by noon I finished plowing over in the big field in the afternoon & the boys drawed of the stone & dragged the rest of the field with smoothing Harrow & in the forenoon they drawed some manure down on the garden at the other house and it is a cloudy cold & windy & snowy day it began snowing before night & looked like a blizzard the ground was frozen all day in places.”

            Sun. Apr. 27: “Marion, Hazel, Harold & Marjory went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school & I went down to see James Mahaffy & stayed till after church and Mother stayed at home with the youngsters and it is a nice day in the morning the ground was nearly white but the snow was’nt long thawing away. it is warmer to-day.”

            Mon. Apr. 28: “In the morning we took the oats down in the big field and I sowed the oats and the boys dragged them with both teams and in the afternoon I sowed the grass seed and the boys finished dragging the oats in and it is a cloudy day   windy and it rained some in the afternoon and it is warm.”

            Tues. Apr. 29: “In the forenoon the boys took a grist down to West Hebron and had to leave it and I rolled at the oats field and in the afternoon the boys  went over in the big field & rolled the oat ground and I went down & plowed the garden at the lower house and it is a nice day colder & cleared for cool & windy.”

            Wed. Apr. 30: “In the morning after we done part of the chores we loaded up a load of potatoes early ones and I took them out to Glens Falls 49 bu at 1.10 per bu and I took the Auto shoes out to the Garage & got them blowed up & I got the Battery I got home about night & after school was out the boys rolled the rest of the oat ground over in the big field and it is a cool day but cleared off. Hazel is about sick she has the chicken pox & Harold, James & Marjory had it at night I guess.”

            Thur. May 1: “The children have the chicken pox part of them and I plowed nearly all day up on top of the hill and the rain drove me to the house before night awhile and it is a nice warm day we had   at night Harold & James went down to West Hebron to get 2 irons made to keep the Battery in the car.”

            Fri. May 2: “In the forenoon the boys & I went up around the back fallow or pasture & fixed the fence and then I went up on top of the hill back of the barn & finished plowing up there & in the afternoon James & I drawed out manure up on the side hill back of the barn & Marion & John C went down to West Hebron & got part of the grist and Harold stayed in the house he has a bad cold and it is a cool cloudy & windy day we had a big rain last night."

            Sat. May 3: "In the forenoon I dragged the piece up on top of the hill back of the barn with spring tooth Harrow & 3 Horses and in the afternoon Harold went over the same piece with the smoothing Harrow & James & I drew manure up on the side hill back of the barn and Marion got out the car & rode around some and it is a nice day. the children are getting very well with the chicken pox   Hazel is pitted the worst."

            Sun. May 4: "We did'nt go to church today   after dinner we all took a ride in the car down to the Cemetery and on out to Hudson Falls and it is a very warm day   at night after we done the chores we had a very heavy Thunder shower and grass looks nice now."

            Mon. May 5: "In the morning I sold a load of potatoes and we loaded up a load & I took them out to Hudson Falls 50½ bu at 1.40 per bu I took them to Murray Gro. Company and I got home about night and the children are about the same bad colds & chicken pox, it is a nice day   cleared off cooler."

            Tues. May 6: "In the forenoon I marked out the piece up on top of the hill back of the barn for potatoes one way and Mother drove down to West Hebron and in the afternoon I marked out some the other way & and the boys and I began planting potatoes and the women folks took the car and went out to Hudson Falls & got the car greased up and it is a nice day some cool & cloudy"

            Wed. May 7: "It rained some most all day in the forenoon I chored around and in the afternoon Mother & I drove down to Argyle to Glenroys   Mary Jane died yesterday morning and it is a wet & nasty backward time in earnest. the children have bad colds the worst in years."

            Thur. May 8: "In the forenoon I spread some manure on the hill back of the barn and Harold & I went up & planted what potatoes we had marked out & it is wet too and in the afternoon we took the car & went down to West Hebron and got Mary, Aunt Kate, Orrie & Mr. McEachron and went down to Argyle to Mary Janes funeral and when we came back I spread manure & chored around and it is a cool day & pretty muddy going."

            Fri. May 9: "In the forenoon it rained nearly all the time and I chored around & sorted a few potatoes & I sold a load out to Fort Edward to Thebo for 1.50 per bu & we loaded up a load and in the afternoon I took them out to Fort Edward 50 1/6 bu at 1.50 & I got home before dark and it cleared off real cool."

            Sat. May 10: "In the morning we took some potatoes up on the hill back of the barn & I marked out some & then we planted till noon and after dinner the folks all went down to Argyle in the car & I cut some potatoes & I went up & planted what was marked out and then it came on rain & Marion went up to Charley McNeils to a shower for Miss Cook and I cut some potatoes and sorted some & chored around and it rained hard at night & was cold almost snowing"

            Sun. May 11: "We did'nt go to church but all stayed at home and kept house and it is a cloudy & cold day a wet & backward time."

            Mon. May 12: "In the morning Harold & Smith took the milk down to Argyle and got back before school time & I fixed some fence down around the swamp. and In the afternoon I cut some potatoes and after school was out the boys and I drawed out some manure back of the barn and it is a cloudy day   it don't dry off much."

            Tues. May 13: "In the morning Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle and I began plowing sod back of the barn and after school was out the boys and I took some potatoes up on top of the hill & I marked out some & the boys planted some and is a nice pleasant day and warmer."

            Wed. May 14: "In the morning Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle and I planted potatoes nearly all day up on top of the hill back of the barn and after school was out the boys brought up some potatoes on the hill and I marked out the rest of the piece & the boys planted some & Hazel is not very well   We had the doctor come up to see her. after we milked the put the young cattle up in the back pasture for good & we turned out the cows nights."

            Thur. May 15: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle & I planted potatoes nearly all day when school was out the boys brought up some more potatoes & helped me to plant & we finished planting potatoes up there and after we milked we all took a ride in the car down to the Cemetery and it is a nice warm day quite warm"

            Fri. May 16: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed sod all day nearly back of the barn & I spread some manure and James & Marion have the chicken pox now and it is a nice day warm too   after school was out Harold dragged the garden down at the lower house and after we milked we all went down to the Cemetery & on down to Argyle & got some gas. and it is a nice day warm too."

            Sat. May 17: "It rained last night & Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle and in the forenoon I plowed up on the side hill back of the barn & the rain helped the plowing and the boys drawed out some manure back of the barn I took Mother over to the other place (the children are sick) & left her and in the afternoon Harold went down to Argyle & got Dr. Lewis for the children & took him back down and it rained hard most all afternoon ground is wet again James & I scouped over the potatoes & sorted some of them & it is a cloudy day & cooler at night."

            Sun. May 18: "In the morning Harold & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle and we did'nt go to church so all stayed at home and kept house Mary E. & Harry Oliver have the chicken pox now as Marion & James has also and the children over to the other place are better to-day."

            Mon. May 19: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed nearly all day in the field back of the barn and spread some manure  when school was out the boys drawed out some manure and it is a nice pleasant day   at noon we went down to Harvey Randles in the car and got 6 bu of potatoes cobblers for 8.00"

            Tues. May 20: "I plowed in the field back of the barn nearly all day   I finished up on the side hill and the boys drawed out some manure after school was out and they took the milk down to Argyle in the morning. and it is a warm day some cloudy"

            Wed. May 21: "I went over in the back meadow & plowed nearly all day for corn and it rained quite a shower at noon and in the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and it is a cloudy day & warm it began raining at night."

            Thur. May 22: "We had a big rain last night In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle it rained some on them too. I chored around and we loaded up a load of potatoes and after dinner I took the load out to Hudson Falls to Barney McKinney and I did'nt get home very early   it rained on me nearly all the way out there it is a fearful wet time water every where it is a cloudy day."

            Fri. May 23: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I took the calves up to Belcher to Frank Day  5 of them 610 # @ 14¢ per # & James, John C & Harry Oliver went with me Marjory went with Harold and in the afternoon Mother took the big team down to West Hebron & got shawd and Harold got the young team shawd at Argyle   we drawed some manure & I plowed some back of the barn when Mother got back. at night Marion, Hazel & Harold went over to a social at the church."

            Sat. May 24: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed all day back of the barn and the boys drawed out some manure back of the barn and it is a cloudy day it is a good time to plow green sod but wet enough. it looks like rain at night & did rain some."

            Sun. May 25: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and we had a big rain last night again it is a terrible wet time no mistake It rained some we did'nt go to church so all stayed at home. We had 2  Heavy Thunder showers it is a wet time in earnest about night Mother took Hazel down to Marys at West Hebron & left her. she is going to school."

            Mon. May 26: " In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I finished plowing back of the barn and then we drawed some manure up in the rear end of the big field and in the afternoon we took both teams & plows over in the back meadow & plowed   the boys plowed some and it is a nice day. cleared off I guess."

            Tues. May 27: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed over in the back meadow & the boys came over when they got back & we finished plowing over there  all done and in the afternoon I dragged the corn ground with the spring tooth & the boys dragged it over after me with the smoothing Harrow and we got over it. and it is a nice day."

            Wed. May 28: "In the morning James & Marion took the milk down to Argyle and I went over back in the meadow & marked out the corn ground both ways and in the afternoon Harold dragged with 3 Horses back of the barn & I went over back & planted corn & Marion & James came over & helped me & it is a nice day  warm   at night we all went down to West Hebron in the car."

            Thur. May 29: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and James & I went over back & finished planting corn & put up the crow twine and when Harold got back he dragged with 3 Horses back of the barn and in the afternoon I cut some seed potatoes & dragged back of the barn & the boys did some & chored around & the Women went out to Fort Edward & Hudson Falls & done some trading & got some flowers & it is a Hot day   at night we all went down to West Hebron & got Hazel."

            Fri. May 30: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I dragged with the big team with the spring tooth Harrow back of the barn & got done. the boys when they got back dragged some with smoothing Harrow and in the afternoon we all went down to Argyle to Memorial services & in the morning Marion & Mother went down to the Cemetery & put some Flowers on Roscoes & Rubys & little Howards graves and it is a nice day drying up some."

            Sat. May 31: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I marked out back of the barn the side hill for potatoes and in the afternoon the boys and I began planting potatoes & Marion took a grist down to West Hebron & got it back in the car and at noon Harold & James took Ben & Ned up to John Weirs & got some shoes put on and it is a nice pleasant day nice weather now."

            Sun. Jun. 1: "Marion, Hazel, Harold, Marjory, James, Harry Oliver & I went to church and we heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and we stayed for sunday school and Mother, John C & Mary E. stayed at home and kept house and after dinner we all went down to the Cemetery & Argyle & on to So. Argyle & back by the lake & home and it is a hot day. In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle."

            Mon. Jun. 2: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I marked out some back of the barn and when the boys came back we drawed out some potatoes & we planted & cut a few potatoes all day the droped some phosphate and it is a hot day & getting dry & dusty   Marion carries Hazel down to school & goes after her this week in the car and it is a nice day."

            Tues. Jun. 3: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I marked out some and when they came back I or we drawed out some potatoes & phosphate and we planted potatoes nearly all day back of the barn and it is terrible hot   we cut some seed potatoes and Marion took Hazel to school & went after her and at night we all went down to the Cemetery & to Argyle"

            Wed. Jun. 4: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I marked out back of the barn till they came back and then we drawed out some potatoes & Harold & I planted & James & John C dropped phosphate and we cut some seed and it is a fearful hot day & getting dry too   Marion took Hazel & went after her at school."

            Thur. Jun. 5: "In the morning Harold & John C took the milk down to Argyle & James droped some phosphate & I marked out some & then I went at planting & Harold helped me when he got back & we cut some seed before night and it is a nother Hot day."

            Fri. Jun. 6: "In the morning Harold & John C. took the milk down to Argyle and James droped some phosphate & I marked out the rest of it and then I went at planting & Harold helped me when he came back. & it came on rain at noon & rained all afternoon & Harold & Marjory went down after Hazel with the team it is a nice rain."

            Sat. Jun. 7: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I chored around fixed some fence and then the children & I went up on top of the hill back of the barn & picked potato bugs of from the early potatoes & then Harold & I went at planting potatoes back of the barn & James & John C dropped phosphate and in the afternoon we finished planting potatoes and then we went down to the other house & cultivated the corn & I hoed some and it cleared off hot   showers went north & it got cooler."

            Sun. Jun. 8: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and we all went to church and we heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and we stayed for sunday school and after dinner we all went down to the cemetery but Mother she did'nt go and at night Marion, Hazel & Harold went over to the young peoples meeting and it is a nice day"

            Mon. Jun. 9: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Marion took Hazel down to West Hebron to school and I went too & then we went up on the hill Harold cultivated some potatoes & I hoed some and it came on rain before noon & rained nearly all the rest of the day."

            Tues. Jun. 10: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I drawed manure over in the back meadow Horse manure & the boys helped when they came back we got 4 loads over on the Buckwheat ground and in the afternoon the boys and I went over on the back hill to plant potatoes an it is a nice pleasant day Hot too."

            Wed. Jun. 11: "In the morning James & Marion took the milk down to Argyle and Harold had to go to school to try the Examinations and I cultivated the potatoes up on top of the hill  I got through them one way & Harold cultivated the corn again down in the garden and it is a nice warm day."

            Thur. Jun. 12: "In the forenoon I drawed manure over in the back meadow & James helped when he got back   he & Marion took the milk down to Argyle in the morning & in the  afternoon I took the car down to Argyle to get some work done on it and I stayed all afternoon about & I done some business at the Bank and at night we all rode down to West Hebron and brought home Hazel.  and it is a hot day dusty now."

            Fri. Jun. 13: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle & I cultivated potatoes up on top of the Hill back of the barn and in the afternoon the boys and I drawed manure over in the back meadow Horse manure and it is a nice pleasant day Hot too. at night we all went down to Argyle and went into the Cemetery & watered the lot."

            Sat. Jun. 14: "In the morning Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle & I cultivated potatoes up on the hill till they came back & then we drawed 2 loads of manure over in the back meadow and in the afternoon I cultivated potatoes up on top of the hill & come down & hoed some corn down in the garden at the lower H. & Marion took the youngsters all over to the church to rehearse for childrens day. and it rained a nice little shower at noon  at night we put the White bull with the cows."

            Sun. Jun. 15: "In the morning Harold & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle & we all went to church and it was childrens day and we had a heavy shower church time & it rained on us all the way. and at night we all went down to West Hebron to the M. E. Church it was childrens day there at night and it cleared off nice in the afternoon."

            Mon. Jun. 16: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed all day over in the back meadow for Buckwheat and the boys dragged some of the potatoes back of the barn & it is a nice day warm too. Marion took Hazel down to West Hebron in the car morning & night to try Examination."

            Tues. Jun. 17: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I cultivated potatoes till they came back and then we got ready and went out to Glens Falls to a  Circus & it is a Hot day & pleasant."

            Wed. Jun. 18: "I cultivated potatoes up on top of the Hill back of the barn and the boys took the milk down to Argyle & Marion took Hazel down to West Hebron & went after her to try Regents and Harold dragged the rest of the potatoes back of the barn & it is a Hot day."

            Thur. Jun. 19: "In the morning James & Marion took the milk down to Argyle and Harold & I went over in the back meadow and cultivated the corn one way and in the afternoon we all drawed manure up in the rear end of the big side hill from the barn yard and it is a dry & Hot day In the afternoon the women folks went out to Hudson Falls & left the Battery to get recharged & left it."

            Fri. Jun. 20: "In the morning James & Hazel went down to Argyle with the milk & they got Prince shawd & Harold & I went over in the back meadow & cultivated the corn the other way & in the afternoon we all drawed manure from the barn yard to up in the rear end of the big side hill  & put it in a pile and it is a nice day Hot & dry"

            Sat. Jun. 21: "In the forenoon Harold & John C took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed over in the back meadow for Buckwheat and when Harold got back he cultivated the corn down at the lower House both ways & in the afternoon we all went out to Hudson Falls & Fort Edward we got the Battery & done some trading   when we got home after supper we worked on the road it is a nice day got cooler before night."

            Sun. Jun. 22: "In the morning Harold & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and we all went to church and heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and we stayed for sunday school and it is a nice pleasant day but cool  a cool north wind. at night we all went down to West Hebron and heard a Baccaulaurette sermon by Mr. McEachron."

            Mon. Jun. 23: "In the forenoon I plowed for buckwheat over back in the meadow & the boys took the milk down to Argyle and in the afternoon I began cultivating potatoes in the field back of the barn and the boys dragged on the road when they got back and it is a very Hot day. I put on paris Green on the early potatoes up on top of the Hill back of the barn"

            Tues. Jun. 24: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went over in the back meadow and plowed for buckwheat and the boys dragged on the road when they got home and in the afternoon we all went down to Salem to a potato meeting & Smith went with us and it is fearful Hot and when we came back we cultivated some back of the barn and it is Hot & dry."

            Wed. Jun. 25: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went over back & plowed for buckwheat in the back meadow & got done and Marion & Hazel took the car and went down to the big lake at Lashers to the school picnic and in the afternoon Harold & I cultivated potatoes back of the barn and at night we went down to Argyle & the Cemetery & watered the lots."

            Thur. Jun. 26: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I cultivated potatoes back of the barn and in the afternoon I dragged the Buckwheat ground over in the back meadow with 3 Horses & spring tooth Harrow and it is a nice pleasant day."

Jun. 27: "In the morning Harold & John C took the milk down to Argyle & took the wheels of the milk wagon & left them down to get the tire sat on them and James & I took the Buckwheat over in the back meadow & I sowed it & he dragged it and it came on rain before we got done and it was a little nasty and in the afternoon Harold & I began shoveling out potatoes up on top of the hill back of the barn and it cleared of cooler."

            Sat. Jun. 28: "In the morning Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle and when they got back  Harold helped me to shovel out potatoes up on top of the hill and Marion took the car and went out to Hudson Falls & took Jim Lants Women folks and brought home Helen Lant she has been out to the Hospital & in the afternoon we all went to church & Heard a sermon by Mr. Hupville of Salem and when we got Home Harold & I shoveled out some potatoes & at night we drove down to Argyle and it is a very windy & cool day but clear."

            Sun. Jun. 29: "In the morning Harold, Harry Oliver & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle and We all went to church and heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and it was Sacrament. and we stayed for sunday school and it is a nice day pleasant but cool   at night we all went over to our church and heard a sermon by Mr. Hunt a Missionary."

            Mon. Jun. 30: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and they got the grist & took a nother one down  I finished shoveling out potatoes up on top of the hill back of the barn & then cultivated potatoes till noon & Harold cultivated when he got back and in the afternoon we began mowing over in the big field the strip this side of the swail & Harold mowed and I put on paris Green up on top of the hill and it is a nice pleasant day warmer."

            Tues. Jul. 1: "In the morning James & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle & got the grist and in the forenoon Harold mowed the rest of the grass over back and I put on paris Green on the rest of the potatoes up on top of the Hill and in the afternoon Harold began mowing up on the big side hill and I cut some weeds around the fence and then the girls & I went over & raked the hay & bunched it up & it is a hot dry day."

            Wed. Jul. 2: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and Harold mowed some up on the big side hill & I mowed around the fence & then we went over back & began drawing in Hay & we got 2 loads & 2 after dinner   we got it all in & then Harold raked the hay up on the side hill and we bunched it up and it is a grand hay day  clear & Hot too. In the morning Marion took the car down to Argyle & left it & rode back with Harry."

            Thur. Jul. 3: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and Harold & I cultivated potatoes a while back of the barn & then we all went at drawing in hay from up on the big side hill & drawed the rest of the day   we got it all in  7 loads & it is a Hot day & a good hay day   it was in fine shape and at night we all went over to the church to a social. In the morning Marion rode with Harry & got the car."

            Fri. Jul. 4: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and Harold and I cultivated the rest of the potatoes out back of the barn we got done first time and then we all got ready and went down to Argyle   they celebrated the 4 th of July down there and in the afternoon there was a big crowd there and we got home chore time and it is a nother hot day & dry too."

            Sat. Jul. 5: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Harry went with them & got some repairs for the reapers & I put on some paris green on the early potatoes again & then shoveled out some potatoes back of the barn & then Harry & I fixed the reaper and in the afternoon we all went the hay up on the big side hill raked & bunched it & drawed down 5 loads and it is a nice day clear & a cool wind   this is written for July 12 by mistake   Marion took Jen down to her Mothers at West Hebron in the car."

            Sun. Jul. 6: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Marion, Hazel, Harold, James, Marjory & Mary E. went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school & the rest of us stayed at home and kept house and it is a nice day   Mother was about sick and had the doctor  This is written for July 13 by mistake."

            Mon. Jul. 7: "In the morning Harold & Johnnie took the milk down to Argyle and I went up on top of the Hill & mowed till Harold came back & then he mowed with machine & I mowed around the fence with a scythe & in the afternoon Harold mowed the rest of the grass up there & I mowed around the fence and then we the rest of us raked & bunched up what we mowed in the forenoon and it is cooler & some cloudy but Hot in the sun."

            Tues. Jul. 8: "In the morning James & Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I hoed some potatoes up on the side Hill back of barn & then put on some paris Green and the boys got the Horses shawd & then went up & got 1 load of Hay and in the afternoon we drawed in hay from up on top of the hill in the meadow 4 L & raked & bunched the rest of the Hay up there and it is a good hay day but a cool wind."

            Wed. Jul. 9: "In the morning James & Marion took the milk down to Argyle and the rest of us went at drawing in Hay up on top of the hill in the meadow 9 loads and we got it all in that we have down & the wind is in the South & acts very much like rain   it is a good hay day."

            Thur. Jul. 10: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle & Marion took the car down to Argyle & left it & came back with the boys & they got caught in a heavy shower   the lightening struck a barn down on the Henry place and it rained now & then most of the day   we chored around & took the oat straw of the scaffold & done odd jobs and it was a nice rain   in the morning I began shoveling out potatoes back of the barn."

            Fri. Jul. 11: "In the morning James & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle and Harold mowed the rest up on the grass up on the big side hill and I mowed around the fences & when they got back the boys took a calf up to Frank Days at Belcher at 17¢ per # and in the afternoon I put on paris green on the potatoes on the side hill back of the barn and it is a cloudy & cool day   a poor hay day at night or after supper Marion, Hazel & Harold drove down to Argyle & Marion brought home the car & Jen came with her."

            Sat. Jul. 12: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and Harold and I cultivated the corn over in the back meadow & I put on some paris Green on the early potatoes up on top of the Hill back of the barn 2nd time and it is a Hot & dry day   at night we went down to Argyle & watered the lots in the cemetery.    Written by  or for July 5 by mistake."

            Sun. Jul. 13: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and we did'nt go to church so all stayed at home & slept part of the day and it is a cloudy day   some cooler but did'nt rain much. Written for July 6"

            Mon. Jul. 14: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Smith came over and we started to reap the rye down above the lower House & broke the reaper & then we went up & got the load of hay that was on the big side hill. & then part of us got an early dinner & went down to Hoosick Falls & got repairs for the reaper. & got back by chore time and it is a Hot dry day."

            Tues. Jul. 15: "In the morning the boys took the milk to Argyle & Smith reaped some & I bound some rye & it came on rain and we quit but went at it again in the afternoon & he got over ½ of it cut & we had a nice rain about night. warm. Harold shoveled out some potatoes back of the barn

            Wed. Jul. 16: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Smith came over in the afternoon & reapt the rest of the rye and I bound and in the forenoon Mother & I went down to James Mahaffys awhile & it cleared off at noon & Harold shoveled out some potatoes back of the barn & it cleared of Hot as ever."

            Thur. Jul. 17: "In the forenoon I mowed up back by the fallow till the boys got back from Argyle & then Harold mowed & I mowed around the fence and in the afternoon Harold finished mowing up back & then he raked up what hay was mowed in the forenoon & they bunched it up & I bound rye, it is a Hot & dry day. Marion took Willie Mahaffy down to Salem in the car & his Wife."

            Fri. Jul. 18: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I bound rye and about noon Marion & I went down to James Mahaffys funeral   Marion carried the Mourners to the yard and when I got back we went at drawing in hay from up back & we raked & bunched up the rest of it and we got in 4 loads and at night we went down to Argyle & watered the Lots in the Cemetery it is a

very Hot day good hay day. The boys took a calf up to Belcher when they got back from Argyle at 18¢"

            Sat. Jul. 19: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I cut & bound the rest of the rye and when the boys came back we drawed in the rest of the hay up in the rear end of the side hill 2 loads and in the afternoon we drawed in rye we got it all in but 2 jags and at night we went down to Salem but Mother she stayed with her mother & it is a good hay day Hot & pleasant."

            Sun. Jul. 20: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle   Mother was sick   we telephoned for the Doctor  he came right up s he was sick about all day   Marion went down & got Mrs. Bussing   she came up & stayed and about 3 o'clock a child was born a girl 11# and it is a nice warm day & dry too."

            Mon. Jul. 21: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle In the forenoon I shoveled out potatoes back of the barn & Harold did when he got back and in the afternoon we drawed in the rest of the rye 2 Loads and then shoveled out some potatoes back of the barn and it came on rain & we quit and it rained most of the time till night   it is a cloudy day   rained some. Mother & child are getting along very well."

            Tues. Jul. 22: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I chored around   cut some weeds and it rains now & then showers   we chored around   Mother and the babe are getting along very well   the Doctor was up to see Mother to day."

            Wed. Jul. 23: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I began mowing down on the side hill along the road and when Harold got home he went at raking the rye tailings down the road and in the afternoon we finished our jobs & Harold mowed some up on top of the hill in the fallow & I put on some paris Green and Harold raked the hay that I mowed and the children bunched it up & James & I drawed the rye tailings up to the hog pen 2 jags and it is a nice day."

            Thur. Jul. 24: "In the morning James & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle and Harold mowed with machine up on top of the hill in the fallow & got done   I mowed around the fence & then put on paris green awhile and in the afternoon we drawed in hay & raked & bunched up the hay we got in 6 loads of hay and it is a nice hay day."

            Fri. Jul. 25: "In the morning James & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle and Harold & I mowed the lower fallow  I mowed some around the fence & when they got back we went at drawing in Hay from the upper fallow and got 2 loads & in the afternoon we drawed in the rest from that field 1 Load & 3 loads from the lower fallow and Harold raked the fallow & John C &  Marjory bunched it up and the folks are getting along very well. it is a good hay day"

            Sat. Jul. 26: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I shoveled out potatoes back of the barn till they came back & then we drawed in the rest of the hay from the lower fallow   3 loads and it came on rain then & about 3 o'clock it quit raining and Marion & Hazel took a grist out to Fort Edward in the car & got it ground & Harold & I went at shoveling out potatoes back of the barn & it is a nasty day."

            Sun. Jul. 27: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Marion took Mrs. Bussing down home & brought her back again after dinner   we had a shower & it rained quite a lot Mother & babe are doing nicely   We did'nt go to church any of us to day."

            Mon. Jul. 28: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I shoveled out potatoes and it came on rain & I came to the house & chored around till noon and in the afternoon Harold & I shoveled out potatoes back of the barn and we got done for this year and it cleared off quite cool & windy at night."

            Tues. Jul. 29: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I began mowing down in the meadow below the house and when the boys got back Harold mowed some & I trimmed around the trees and in the afternoon we mowed the rest of the meadow (but the swail) & around the trees between us & we raked & bunched the flat or what was mowed in the forenoon & drawed in 1 load & at night they took Mrs. Bussing down home & in the afternoon the girls took a grist out to Fort Edward & got it ground & it is a pretty cloudy day."

            Wed. Jul. 30: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I cut some weeds around the fence & then we drawed in hay from the meadow & Harold raked the rest of the hay and in the afternoon we bunched the hay up & drawed it all in the Horse barn 7 loads and it is a good hay day."

            Thur. Jul. 31: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and then Marion, Hazel, Marjory, Harold & James went to our church picnic down to Hedges pond and I chored around cut a swath around part of the oat field cross the road from the barn and then I went at Reaping & rept the lower part & then I mowed the swail below the house and I had to mow some by hand and it is a nice hay day   the children got home early."

            Fri. Aug. 1: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I cut a swath around the rest of the oat field cross from the barn & then I reaped the rest of the oats and in the afternoon Marion took the car down to Argyle to get some work done on it and the boys & I raked bunched the hay down in the swail & drawed it in  2 big loads and it is a nice pleasant day but a cool west wind."

            Sat. Aug. 2: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I chored around and when they got back we went at drawing in oats in the field cross from the barn & we got them all in 9 jags and it was a very windy day but a good hay day. the oats were in fine shape."

Aug. 3: "In the morning Harold & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and Marion, Hazel, Harold, Marjory, John C & Mary E. went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and the rest of us stayed at home and after dinner we all but Mother & babe went down to the Cemetery and it is a nice pleasant day warm and dry."

            Mon. Aug. 4: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went over & cradled around the oats over in the big field & then I came up and took the team & reaper & began cutting oats & cut the rest of the day and when the boys got home Harold raked the oat tailings cross from the barn & in the afternoon the boys drawed in the oat tailings and it is a nice hay day clear & warm."

            Tues. Aug. 5: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and in the forenoon I reaped oats over in the big field & got done and when the boys got back they came over & cut some oats that I left around the big stones. & in the afternoon we all went over to get a load of oats & before we got a load on it came on rain & we had to quit & we put away the reaper & chored around and at night we went down to the Cemetery but Mother & the babe   it did'nt rain but a little."

            Wed. Aug. 6: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and it rained some   I cut the brush around the oat field cross from the barn. and in the afternoon I went to bed & then chored around and it is a cloudy day but did'nt rain much."

            Thur. Aug. 7: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I chored around cut some weeds in the potatoes and Marion & Hazel went to a picnic down to Lashers and in the afternoon the boys and I went down to the oat field & we turned a lot of oats & we got in 2 loads when the girls got home they helped us and it cleared of about night the oats did'nt dry very fast."

            Fri. Aug. 8: "In the morning the the boys took the milk down to Argyle and we cut some weeds in the potatoes awhile and when they got back we all went down in the big field and drawed in oats we got 2 loads in & we worked at the oats in the afternoon & got in 3 loads Marion, Harold & James & Harry Oliver went out to Fort Edward & got 2 calves that we sent for and it is a drying day  sun & wind but cool."

            Sat. Aug. 9: "In the morning James & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle and Harold & I onloaded a load of oats and then we went over & got the rest of the oats 1 load & when we onloaded it the boys & I went over to Smiths & got 1 loads of oats gathered & in the afternoon we went back & helped him to draw the rest of the oats and thresh them too   we got done.  and it is a nice pleasant day   cool nights & cool wind. Marion took the car down to Argyle and left it for repairs."

            Sun. Aug. 10: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and we did'nt go to church any of us so we all stayed at home and kept house and it is a nice pleasant day dry & dusty but cool."

            Mon. Aug. 11: "In the morning James & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle and I cut grass by hand down back of the lower house in the swail & Harold raked the oat tailings over in the back field & I mowed the little meadow up back and in the afternoon I mowed what I could with machine back of the lower house and we drawed in the oats and raked up & bunched the hay that we had mowed and it is a nice pleasant day"

            Tues. Aug. 12: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and and I mowed the rest of the Hay by hand that is in the swail back of the lower house and in the afternoon we drawed in the hay up in the little meadow and the swail back of the lower house  3 loads in all   that completes the Harvest crop for 1919 and it is a nice hay day warm & smokey"

            Wed. Aug. 13: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I cut weeds & brush along the road side & the boys & I cut some weeds in the potatoes back of the barn new potatoes are worth 2.50 a bu  In the afternoon we chored around and picked a few apples and boiled a kettle of feed & drawed some water up from the lower house and cut a few weeds out of the potatoes back of the barn and it is a nice day."

            Thur. Aug. 14: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and brought back some gas for Smith & James & I went over Billys to help thresh & Harold came over when he got back & James took sick & had to come home and we got done threshing and it is a cloudy & cool day rained some and at night I went down to Argyle with John McKernon to a Dairymans League meeting."

            Fri. Aug. 15: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle & Harry came over & we got the rye thresher out of the cellar & Billy & his man came over & James Lant & Clarence & Leslie McFarland helped me to thresh & we got the rye out 76 bu & 96 bu of oats out & it cleared off warmer."

            Sat. Aug. 16: "In the morning the boys and I loaded up a grist & took the milk down to Argyle we went on out to Fort Edward & got the grist ground & got some calf meal & a Baby Wagon & etc. and got home about 2 o'clock & then we drawed the oats over that was threshed & onloaded a load of straw & chored around & it is a nice day Hot. Some oats out yet."

            Sun. Aug. 17: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Hazel, Harold & Marjory went to church  They drove Prince and heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and Mother & I stayed at home & kept the children and it is a nice day."

            Mon. Aug. 18: "It rained some last night & in the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and the threshers & some help came back & finished threshing the oats and we got done before night a little & we 386 bu of oats and it cleared off warm."

            Tues. Aug. 19: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I gathered some apples & boiled a Kettle of feed and chored around & Marion & I went down to Argyle after the car but did'nt get it left it for to have some more repairs done and it is a warm day   about night we had a Heavy Thunder shower & after the shower our folks went over to the church social  all but Johnnie & Oliver. we stayed at home and kept the babe   we had a big rain."

            Wed. Aug. 20: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went up & helped Smith get his car & then took the oat thresher over to Charley Barkleys & in the afternoon the boys and I drawed manure up in the rear end of the big side hill 3 Loads and it is a nice day. at night Marion & Harold went down & got the car"

            Thur. Aug. 21: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I cut brush awhile & when they came back they brought Miss Bussing up to keep the babe & the rest of us went down to the Cambridge Fair   Harold & Hazel rode with Smith and it is a nice pleasant day   Hot too."

            Fri. Aug. 22: "In the morning Harold & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle & James & I drawed manure up in the back Hill and Harold helped when he got back and in the afternoon we went over & helped Smith to draw & stack & rake his hay and it is a nice pleasant day Hot & clear too. at night Marion, Hazel, Harold & Marjory went down to West Hebron to a show."

            Sat. Aug. 23: "In the morning Harold & Johnnie took the milk down to Argyle and James & I drawed some manure up back & Harold helped when he got back & we drawed some rails & fixed some fence. and in the afternoon we all went down to West Hebron and I went to a potato meeting at Peter Busseno and it is a nice pleasant day & Hot too."

            Sun. Aug. 24: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and there was no service at our church   after dinner we went for a ride but it looked like a shower so we came home and we had a Thunder shower  it rained some and was cool."

            Mon. Aug. 25: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and when they came back we all drawed manure up in the rear end of the big side hill and it is a cloudy & cool day rained a little shower   Frank Barkley got killed in the afternoon   the big gasoline engine tiped over on him."

            Tues. Aug. 26: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and when they came back we all drawed manure up in the rear end of the big side hill and about night Marion took Mother & me down to Frank Barkleys and it is a cool windy & cloudy day."

            Wed. Aug. 27: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I am about sick and when the boys got back we all got ready & went out to the County Fair and we left the babe with Mrs. Bussing and it rained nearly all afternoon we came home early   it was pretty slippery on the hills."

            Thur. Aug. 28: "In the morning the boys took the milk over to Smiths & he took it to Argyle and we all (but Mother & the babe) got ready & went out to the County Fair. Mrs. Bussing rode out with us we got home about chore time & it is a nice day rained a little   some cloudy but cleared off nice."

            Fri. Aug. 29: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and in the forenoon we drawed 1 load of manure up back & Mother & I went down to Frank Barkleys funeral and in the afternoon the boys & I drawed manure up back and at night we went down to the Cemetery and it is a nice day"

            Sat. Aug. 30: "In the morning Harry came over & helped us to load up the pigs & he took the milk down to Argyle and the boys & I took the hogs down to Salem 10   2147 # @ 19¢ per # and we got home after noon awhile and I was about sick & layed around it rained quite a shower & the children done the chores at night."

            Sun. Aug. 31: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Marion, Hazel, Marjory, Mary E.  Harold & James & John C went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and Mother & I stayed at home and kept the babe & Oliver and it is a nice day but we had a light shower."

            Mon. Sept. 1: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and when they came back we all got ready and went out to the fair grounds to Labor Day performance and it is a nice day some cloudy  Mrs. Bussing kept the babe and we got home chore time"

            Tues. Sept. 2: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I began plowing cross from the barn for rye and it came on rain & I quit   school began to day and in the afternoon Marion & Oliver & I went down to Argyle & Willie Mahaffy & his Wife went with us to primaries and it is a nasty day & muddy but did'nt amount to much."

            Wed. Sept. 3: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and when I came back I went out & plowed awhile & the rain drove me in   I went out again about 3 O'clock & it plows nice   the ground is wet   it rained last night & ½ of the day but cleared off about night."

            Thur. Sept. 4: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and In the forenoon I plowed in the field cross from the barn for rye and at noon I took a bad spell & my rupture came down I had to have the Doctor come up & he put it back & gave me relief and Marion went over to Hebron and got Aunt Kate & 2 western cousins & brought them here on a visit and it is a nice day."

            Fri. Sept. 5: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Marion took a calf up to Belcher on the car   I went and Bert Getty went along too & when we came back we took the girls down to school at West Hebron & then we went down to Cossayuna & on around the lake & after dinner we went down to Argyle & back & then down after the girls & after supper Marion took the cousins up to Norman Williamsons & Aunt Kate to West Hebron and it is a nice cool day."

            Sat. Sept. 6: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I plowed a while & when the boys got back we took a load of rails up on the hill & fixed some fence & then we went up in the fallow & cut some chestnut poles for an ice House and in the afternoon we drawed the rest of the manure and then I picked a few apples & at night we all went down to West Hebron to a Band concert and it is a nice day."

            Sun. Sept. 7: "We all went to church (But Mother and the babe) and we heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and we stayed for sunday school and after dinner we all went down to West Hebron to Everetts where the Western cousins were and it is a nice warm day & pleasant. In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle."

            Mon. Sept. 8: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and in the forenoon I plowed for rye in the field cross from the barn and in the afternoon I cut some brush along the road side and some burdocks in the orchard and it is a nice day Marion took Hazel down to school. & went after her she took down a grist  It is a very Hot day"

            Tues. Sept. 10: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went down to West Hebron with Marion when she took Hazel to school   we took a grist & brought one home and when I got back Walter Lant brought some old rye to change for new and then I plowed for rye in the field cross from the barn & in the afternoon I went up back & spread some manure & then came down & picked the rest of the Wolf river apples & a man came along & I sold them to him at $4 a bbl   Lyle Brown"

Sept. 11: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and James & I sorted some apples and then I went out & finished plowing for rye  all done now and in the afternoon I went up back & spread the rest of the manure and then I cut some burdocks up in the orchard and it is a cloudy day  at wet time and after school was out Harold finished dragging the rye ground with the smoothing Harrow & James & I drawed out the ashes & spread them on the rye ground."

            Fri. Sept. 12: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and it rained suds most & I chored around & cut some weeds along the road till noon and in the afternoon it rained   I laid down & took a nap & then I cut some burdocks & when school was out Marion went down to West Hebron after Hazel & the children & I went with her. and it is very wet & slippery for a car and it is cooler   she took Hazel to school in the morning. & Mr. Brown came after the apples 7½ bbls at $4 a bbl. Wolf River"

            Sat. Sept. 13: "In the morning Harold & John C took the milk down to Argyle and James & I went up on top of the hill and I dug potatoes & James picked them & when the other boys came home they came up & helped us & we dug early potatoes all day   they are very light. Late potatoes are dying now & show signs of being a light crop. & it is a nice pleasant day clear & warm   at night we all went down to the Cemetery & took some Flowers for Roscoe, Rubys & Howards graves."

            Sun. Sept. 14: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Marion, Hazel, Marjory, John C. Harry Oliver & I went to church and we heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and Mother stayed at home with the youngsters and it is a nice day some cloud and at night it looked like rain again."

            Mon. Sept. 15: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle & Marion took Hazel down to school at W. H. in the Auto & James & I took the rye out and began sowing & it came on rain & I quit for awhile but after awhile I went at it & sowed all of the rye   it kept raining   I did'nt get any dragged  I cut the rest of the burdocks in the orchard & down around the other house in the after-noon and after school was out the boys gathered the burdocks up in the orchard and Marion drove down to W. H. after Hazel and it is a rainy day   a wet time:

            Tues. Sept. 16: "In the forenoon I went down to Argyle and got a load of gravel and James went with me and the boys took the milk down to Argyle and in the afternoon Harry came over and he & I started the foundation for a milk house and dug a branch ditch to the lead pipe that goes to the barn yard and it is a nice day cloudy   after school was out Harold went at dragging in the rye."

            Wed. Sept. 17: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I dragged in the rest of the rye and then I began cutting corn down to the lower House in the garden & in the afternoon I took the car over to the Bussings boys funeral & carried some of the mourners down to the Argyle Cemetery & when I came back I cut some weeds along the road and the boys picked some cider apples. and it is a nice day. pleasant & cooler."

            Thur. Sept. 18: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went over to Billys and sowed his rye and when I came back Mr. Elliott came here and Harry came over and he & I helped him to top the pipe & put it in the milk house and do some other work and we worked at the form and at night Harold rolled some of the rye ground. and it is a nice pleasant day.  Marion took Eliott home & went over to W. Hebron & got the school girls"

            Fri. Sept. 19: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Harry came over & we finished the form & put in the cement and we got the walls done and after dinner Marion & Mother took a grist out to Fort Edward & got it back & done some trading and I finished rolling in the rye and it is a nice pleasant day warm."

            Sat. Sept. 20: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and we got out the reaper & went over in the back meadow & cut the Buckwheat & sat it all up & put the reaper back in the lower barn  we all worked at it & finished  It is a nice day  some cloudy but warm."

            Sun. Sept. 21: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Marion, Hazel, Marjory & Mary E. went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and Harry came over & we took the form away from the cement milk House & trough & painted it over with cement."

            Mon. Sept. 22: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and I did'nt do much but stay or lay around the house and in the afternoon Harold & I went over to James Lants to help to fill Silo and it rained some  we could'nt only part of the time and it is a cloudy & nasty time"

            Tues. Sept. 23: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle and Harold and I went over to James Lants to help him fill a silo & cut corn and it is a nice day some cooler out   keeps cloudy & looks some like rain and we got the silo filled."

            Wed. Sept. 24: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and In the forenoon I went over in the back meadow & cut corn and in the afternoon Harry came over & we put some cement in the bottom of the trough and then I cut corn down to the other house awhile and after school was out we drawed a load of stone for the bottom of the milk house and we had a very heavy Thunder shower   it rained a lot & came fast   it is cooler at night."

            Thur. Sept. 25: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went over in the back meadow & cut corn & in the afternoon Harry came over & we put the cement in the bottom of the milk house and I picked a few apples & it came on showers   cooler at night it is very windy. The boys picked some cider apples after school."

            Fri. Sept. 26: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Mother & Marion took a grist out to the Fort & took the car on up to Hudson Falls to get fixed & they went to Jens & I cut corn over in the back meadow till noon & then I cut the rest of the corn down at the other house & picked some apples and it is a nice day. Mother & Marion got home about night   the boys picked some cider apples after school"

            Sat. Sept. 27: "In the morning Harold & John C. took the milk & the cider apples (25 bu) down to Argyle and did'nt get back till most noon & James & I went up on top of the hill & dug early potatoes & the boys helped when they got back & Marion took Jim Lants Women folks out to Glens Falls in the car & in the afternoon Mother & Hazel went to Missionary meeting up to Mrs. Gilchirsts and the rest helped us to dig potatoes & pick up up on top of the hill back of the barn and it is a nice pleasant day   Frost last night."

            Sun. Sept. 28: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & took the big team and Mother, Marion, Hazel, Harold, James,  Marjory, Mary E. & H. Oliver all went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron & they stayed for sunday school & I stayed at home & kept the babe & John C. and after dinner we all took a ride in the car down to Argyle & up to summit lake & on down to Greenwich & back home by Cossayuna. and it is a nice warm day."

            Mon. Sept. 29: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I cut corn all day over in the back meadow and it is a nice day but very windy in the afternoon."

            Tues. Sept. 30: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I cut corn all day over in the back meadow and it is a nice day   the boys dug some potatoes after school was out."

            Wed. Oct. 1: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and in the forenoon I cut corn over in the back meadow & in the afternoon I went down to Argyle & got some Lumber for the milk house & some paper & done some business at the Bank and it was chore time when I got home and it is a nice warm day."

            Thur. Oct. 2: "In the morning the boys took the milk over to Smiths and I went over & cut corn in the back meadow & the rain drove me to the house in awhile & about 4 o'clock I went back & cut corn till night and it rained a lot and it is warm too. Potatoes are dead but are still rottening  Harry took the milk down to Argyle."

            Fri. Oct. 3: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went over & cut corn awhile and David Thompson came up & I came over & we put up the frame to the milk house & worked at the rest of the day and it is a nice day & warm too."

            Sat. Oct. 4: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle I went over back & finished cutting corn in the meadow  all done & then I cut brush around the potato field till noon & when the boys got back they went up on top of the Hill & got the rest of the early potatoes & dug a few late ones & in the afternoon I went down to Frank Barkleys to apprise his Personal property & the boys & girls began digging Giants potatoes by the barn  they are rotten too & it is a warm & cloudy day but cleared of before night."

            Sun. Oct. 5: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Marion, Harold, Hazel , Marjory, John C. & Mary E. went to church & they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and after Dinner we took a ride in the car down to the Cemetery and up around by Hartford & back home and it is a nice day some cloudy."

            Mon. Oct. 6: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and David Thompson came up & we worked on the milk house all day   the boys helped us in the morning   James & I fixed some fence around the potato field and it is a nice day only rained some showers."

            Tues. Oct. 7: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and in the morning I dug potatoes awhile & James picked them up & David Thompson came up & we helped him to work at the milk house all day & it is cooler at night but is a nice day   David took his tools home but we did'nt get done."

            Wed. Oct. 8: "It frooze hard last night  a Heavy crust. In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging potatoes giants back of the barn and the boys helped when they got back  we got quite a lot dug but we are pileing them   they are rotten so bad. it is a nice day after the freeze.  In the afternoon Marion & Mother took a grist out to Fort Edward & got it home for the cows. & done some shopping."

            Thur. Oct. 9: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging potatoes and the boys helped me & we dug all forenoon and in the afternoon we drawed in our buckwheat from over in the back meadow   3 big loads. and it began raining before night awhile and it rained quite a lot at night."

            Fri. Oct. 10: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and we dug potatoes nearly all day back of the barn and they are a rotten mess. at night some of the youngsters went down to West Hebron to a Social   Marion takes Hazel to & from school."

            Sat. Oct. 11: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Marion, James & I took a calf down to salem in the car at 20¢ per # and when we came back we worked at the potatoes back of the barn and it came on rain about 3 o'clock and we had to quit and it is a cloud day. a wet time."

            Sun. Oct. 12: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and Mother, Marion, Hazel, Marjory, Mary E. John C. & Harry Oliver went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and the boys & I stayed at home and kept the babe and it is a cloudy raw & windy & cold day   acts like snow."

            Mon. Oct. 13: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I dug potatoes nearly all day back of the barn   it frooze hard in the morning   the boys helped when they got back & Hazel helped us some to day as there was no school at West Hebron & Mother & Marion went out to Fort Edward and took a grist & got it ground for the cows."

            Tues. Oct. 14: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging potatoes and they helped me when they came back & the rest of the children  we got 2 loads of Giants   they are rotten very bad yet. It is a nice day."

            Wed. Oct. 15: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging potatoes giants back of the barn and they helped me when they got back & the rest did too. and we got 2 loads and we put these in the House cellar and Marion carries Hazel back & forward to school at West Hebron and it looks some like rain but a nice day."

            Thur. Oct. 16: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging but it came on rain & rained nearly all day. we husked what corn we had in the barn & it quit raining before night a little so we covered up what piles we had with dirt & picked up what few I had dug   we had a big rain & it was a warm rain too."

            Fri. Oct. 17: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging potatoes and they helped me to dig & pick & the rest did too & we got 2 loads of Giants & we put them in the House cellar and it cleared of but is a cloudy day not cold at all yet. but is very wet & nasty digging now."

            Sat. Oct. 18: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging potatoes Giants back of the barn and the boys helped when they came back & Marion & Hazel helped us some to-day and in the afternoon Marion attended a Shower down at West Hebron and it is a nice pleasant day."

            Sun. Oct. 19: "In the morning Harold & Marion took the milk down to Argyle and our folks all (but me and the babe) went to church and heard a sermon by Mr. Anderson D. D. and they stayed for Sunday school and after dinner we had quite a heavy shower and at night Harold, Marion & Hazel went over to our church    there was  service there."

            Mon. Oct. 20: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging potatoes and the boys helped when they got back and we got 2 loads and it is a nice day."

            Tues. Oct. 21: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging & they helped me when they got back & Marion helped some & in the afternoon it came on rain & drove us to the house   we chored around till night   it is warm."

            Wed. Oct. 22: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging   it was very wet too. the boys helped when they got back & Marion helped us too. and it turned out to be a nice day."

            Thur. Oct. 23: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging potatoes and they helped when they got back and Marion helped us some and in the afternoon Marion & Mother took a grist out to Fort Edward for the cows & got it back home and it is a nice day we got the most of the Giants dug."

            Fri. Oct. 24: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle. and I went at digging potatoes on the side hill back of the barn and the boys helped when they got back and Marion helped us some to-day and it is a nice warm day."

            Sat. Oct. 25: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging potatoes up on the side hill back of the barn and the boys helped when they got back & Marion & Hazel helped us to day most of the day and we got them all dug on the side hill and at night we all went down to Salem in the car  it got dried up in good shape again but it looks like rain   it is a nice warm day   We drawed up the rest of the corn that was down to the garden at the other house. Giants are worth 1.35 per bu at Salem today."

            Sun. Oct. 26: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and Mother & the girls went to church in the car and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school & the boys & I stayed at home and kept the babe and it rained quite a lot but warm."

            Mon. Oct. 27: "In the morning the boys took the milk over to Smiths & he took it down to Argyle and the boys went over to Will Crosiers  and got a few pumpkins for pies. and I went at digging & James to up on top of the hill and the boys all helped when they got back & Marion helped us some too. it is a warm but cloudy & very wet digging."

            Tues. Oct. 28: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and it was cloudy & began raining   I husked some corn & chored around all forenoon it rained now & then & in the afternoon we all went up on the hill & went at digging and it was wet   the wind got up in the West & blew fierce & got some cooler."

            Wed. Oct. 29: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I went at digging up on top of the hill & when the boys got back we all worked at the potatoes the rest of the day. and it was cold in the morning but soon warmed up the potatoes are very light. & weedy too. Marion carries Hazel back & forward to school at W. H."

            Thur. Oct. 30: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I put up a grist & chored around & then went at digging potatoes up on the hill & when the boys got back they all came up & helped me & at noon it began raining and we did'nt go to the field to dig   it rained a little just enough to make it nasty and it got warmer."

            Fri. Oct. 31: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and it rained suds most all the way down & Harold took Hazel down to school at W. H. and we husked the rest of the corn that was in the barn and put the stalks up on the straw mow and picked a few apples and chored around and it is a wet day & cloudy but warm."

            Sat. Nov. 1: "In the morning Harold & Oliver took the milk down to Argyle in the buggie and I went at digging potatoes up on the top of the hill the girls & boys all helped us to day   we have the most of them now & they are a very light crop and it was wet digging in the morning and it is nice & warm it looked like rain & did at night."

            Sun. Nov. 2: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and Mother, Marion & Hazel went to church they drove Prince and they heard a sermon by a Mr. Schuller & it was sacrament Sabbath and the rest of us stayed at home and kept house and it is a nice day but cooler. it rained a lot last night   water most everywhere"

            Mon. Nov. 3: "In the morning Marion & James took the milk down to Argyle & Harold & Hazel went to school down to West Hebron Harold just began they drive prince & put him in at Everetts and I went over & sat up what corn was down in the back meadow & then dug potatoes up on top of the hill back of the barn & Marion helped me some and when school was out the children brought up the team & we all picked them up & it is cool. & some cloudy."

            Tues. Nov. 4: "In the morning James & I took the milk down to Argyle & I voted & I am not feeling very well   it rained & snowed some & is a cool sour day   I didn't do much but chore around   in the afternoon our folks took the car & went down to George McKernons & got a jar of Butter. 70¢ now."

            Wed. Nov. 5: "In the morning James & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle & it began snowing & snowed nearly all day  a nasty day   I am not feeling very well so did'nt do much but chore around & I went up back & got the young cattle & put them in for the first   it looks like winter in earnest   it is a nasty time in earnest."

            Thur. Nov. 6: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and it is a cloudy cool raw day & a terrible wet & nasty   most of the snow melted away to day   I am feeling some better to day   I sorted some potatoes. and I put the young cattle in nights & feed them too."

            Fri. Nov. 7: "In the morning we loaded up a grist & I took it out to Fort Edward 2 for the cows & 2 for the horses & 2 for the pigs & calves and I took the milk also to Argyle. & I got back in the afternoon I also got 50 Head of cabbage and when I got home I shook of the Ben Davis apples what was left of them & the children picked them up after school was out & it is a cool cloudy day   the roads dried up to day some."

            Sat. Nov. 8: "In the morning James & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and Harold & I went at digging potatoes up on top of the hill back of the barn and when they got back they brought up the team & the girls came up & helped us to dig & we got done before noon a little & then we went out & got the rest of the apples & drawed them up to the barn cellar & in the afternoon we drawed in 2 piles of potatoes & sorted them & put them in the house cellar & put the rotten ones in the cow stable about ½ rotten & then we put the rack on & went over back & got a load of corn. It is a cold raw windy day."

            Sun. Nov. 9: "In the morning Marion & I took the milk down to Argyle in the car we got some gas & oil in the car and got 5 gal for the plant. & we had a blow out. We did'nt go to church any of us to-day so stayed at home & kept house and about night we all took a ride down along the lake to S. Argyle & up to Argyle and the Cemetery & on back home   it is a cool day."

            Mon. Nov. 10: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and I drawed some of the potatoes in the cellar that was in piles and Marion helped me some and after school was out the boys and I went over in the back meadow & got a load of corn and it is a nice day."

            Tues. Nov. 11: "In the morning James & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and it came on rain and was a wet day I husked corn & chored around and it is a wet time."

            Wed. Nov. 12: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and it came on rain again & rained most all forenoon and I chored around & husked some corn & chored around & in the afternoon I drawed in & sorted the potatoes & it is terrible nasty & wet now. but not very cold."

             Thur. Nov. 13: "In the morning Marion & James took the milk down to Argyle and I drawed in potatoes & sorted them all day & put them in the House cellar & it is a cloudy day & a very wet nasty time   water laying most every where."

            Fri. Nov. 14: "In the morning Harold & James took the cider apples & milk down to Argyle and brought home some boards for the ice House and I husked some corn and in the afternoon we drawed in the last pile of potatoes & sorted them & put them in the House cellar & then I went over & sat up what corn was done & at night our folks all (but Harry O. & Mary E. & I ) went over to the church school in 2 rigs and we kept the babe and it is colder to day raw & windy   No school to day anywhere."

            Sat. Nov. 15: "In the morning Marion & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and the boys and I went at drawing in corn from over in the back meadow and we got in 6 big loads and it was in good shape and it frooze hard last night & is still colder at night   it is a drying day pleasant & cold too."

            Sun. Nov. 16: "In the morning Harold & Hazel took the milk down to Argyle and Marion, Hazel & Marjory went to church and they heard a sermon by a a Anti Saloon Man from off some place and the rest of us stayed at home and kept the youngsters and it is a nice day only cool."

            Mon. Nov. 17: "In the morning Marion & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and James & John C stayed at home & helped me to draw in the rest of the corn in the forenoon 3 loads and we got it all in and in the afternoon I husked some & chored around."

            Tues. Nov. 18: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and got a load of saw dust   this is for Wed Nov. 19   in the forenoon I husked corn in fact nearly all day & the boys took the milk down to Argyle and it is some cloudy. Marion & I went down to George McKernons & got a jar of butter."

            Wed. Nov. 19: "In the forenoon I husked some corn & in the afternoon Marion & I took a grist out to Fort Edward & went up to Hudson Falls & got some Wire & fixtures for plant & we did'nt get home till about or after dark and In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and it is cold at night & windy"

            Thur. Nov. 20: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and when I came back & done the chores I went over & helped Smith to draw in corn and we got about ½ of it in and it frooze hard last night Winter weather."

            Fri. Nov. 21: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & when I came back I went over & helped Smith to draw in his corn  we got it all in he stacked it and it is a nice day some warmer to day but cold last night."

            Sat. Nov. 22: "In the morning Harold & John C took the milk down to Argyle and Marion, James, Oliver & I took a calf down to Salem 135 # @ 17¢ per # and it began raining before we got home we had a little hard luck but got home before noon we intended to go out to Fort Edward but it rained a little and we gave it up the boys & I husked some corn and Harold brought up Mrs. Bussing to sew etc & Marion took  her home about night it came on rain for afare at night."

            Sun. Nov. 23: "In the morning Harold & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and Marion, Hazel & Harold went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and it is a cool raw & windy day   it must of rained a lot last night."

            Mon. Nov. 24: "In the morning Marion & I started for Glens Falls with 7 of her turkey at 45¢  per # & we took the milk with us & left it at Argyle and we came back to Hudson Falls & left the car at the Garage & a man brought us home and in  the afternoon I husked corn and chored around and it is a nice day   it thawed out & was quite muddy."

            Tues. Nov. 25: "In the morning James & John C. took the milk down to Argyle and I husked corn nearly all day and I cleaned out the rear house and the cow barn inspector was around to day again and it is a nice warm day   some cloudy & began raining at night again."

            Wed. Nov. 26: "In the morning James & John C. took the milk down to Argyle and after we done the chores Marion helped me to cut a window in the cow stable & to ceil the cow stable with tar paper in the forenoon & I put the cows & young cattle in the stables & it rained & frooze as it came after dinner I chored around and husked some corn and it is colder at night  a nasty storm   still  raining at night."

            Thur. Nov. 27: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and I got Mollie shawd it was icy on the hills   it snowed some last night & frooze into the slush & made ice   the boys & I husked some corn and chored around   it is a young winter   the ice is frozen on every thing out doors   limbs are broken of trees nearly every where. We had our Thanksgiving dinner at home."

            Fri. Nov. 28: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and I husked corn most of the day & chored around and it is a cloudy day & cool too   at night Mother, Harold & Hazel went down to West Hebron to a concert & Marion went too. but the Negros failed to show up and I kept the babe with the childrens help."

            Sat. Nov. 29: "In the morning Harold & Oliver took the milk down to Argyle and I husked corn part of the day and chored around and it is a cloudy day but warmer   the ice has melted of most of

 the trees & fences & most every thing the snow melted away some & it began raining before night awhile."

            Sun. Nov. 30: "In the morning Harold & Mary E. took the milk down to Argyle   it was warm too but it got cooler wind got up the West wind   it rained a lot last night & took the snow & ice all off and it is very muddy again & Marion, Hazel & Marjory went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and they stayed for sunday school and Mother & I stayed home and kept the youngsters and it is a very windy day & getting colder."

            Mon. Dec. 1: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & the boys done the chores before school time   when I got back Harry came over & he cut some glass & made some window lights  & he came back in the afternoon & we worked on the milk house and it is a cold raw & windy day   very rough going."

            Tues. Dec. 2: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and I took the big team & got them shawd Giant grips & I took the big wagon seat to get a new spring & when I got home I went at cutting up the apple tree by the milk house and in the after I cut the rest of the tree or limbs & began digging holes around the ice house to set the poles and it is a cloudy day   not very cold & snowed some now & then through the day."

            Wed. Dec. 3: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores before school time and when I got back I chored around & fixed the cow stable doors and it is a cold day   it got colder in the night   rough going now"

            Thur. Dec. 4: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and I brought home a quarter of Beef and the boys done the chores before school time and I cut up the Beef when I got home and after dinner I fixed the cow stable door etc & chored around and it is a cold day pleasant the roads are wearing down some."

            Fri. Dec. 5: "In the morning we loaded up a grist & I took it out to Fort Edward and got it ground and I took the milk & left it Argyle and it was most night when I got home and it is good wheeling   roads are hard & dusty. it is a cloudy & snowed some but did'nt amount to much   cold too. Potatoes are worth 1.50 per bu & Buckwheat 3.00 per cwt."

            Sat. Dec. 6: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and Harry brought the Engine & he worked all forenoon to get the shredder to work and in the afternoon we put the pipe up in the shed & shredded stalks awhile and it is a cold raw day & cloudy and at night it began snowing."

            Sun. Dec. 7: "In the morning Harold & James took the milk down to Argyle and the ground is white it snowed about 3 inches & turned to rain or hail & it is a very cloudy & foggy day   warmer & melted some   we did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home & done chores & kept house."

            Mon. Dec. 8: "In the morning James & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and Harold & I done the chores and I husked corn in the forenoon and in the afternoon I fixed the sheep pen door and repaired around the stable & put in another window in the cow stable and it is a nice pleasant day warmer & thawed some."

            Tues. Dec. 9: "In the morning James & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and Harold & I done the chores and I husked corn in the forenoon and it rained right down part of the forenoon & did'nt quit till about 2 o'clock & Harry & I went down to the Auction at Howard Todds but it rained so hard it was postponed and it is icy now."

            Wed. Dec. 10: "In the morning James & Marjory took the milk down to Argyle and the snow is about all gone but it began getting colder in the morning & kept getting colder all day   I dug the rest of the holes for the posts for the ice house and I sorted some potatoes in the barn cellar and it is a cold night."

            Thur. Dec. 11: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores and when I came back I chored around and Harry came over & split some chunks of wood with dynamite and in the afternoon I chored around read out the barn Floor partly & backed the thresh machine in the barn and it is a cold raw & windy day."

            Fri. Dec. 12: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and when I came back I chored around awhile & then went over to Smiths & helped him to saw some wood & after dinner Harold Keyworth came here after a load of potatoes with an Auto truck & Harry & Will Jones helped to load up      bu at 1.40 per bu giants and it is a cloudy day & warmer   Marion went down to Everetts with Harold & Hazel."

            Sat. Dec. 13: "In the morning Harold & John C took the milk down to Argyle and James & I done the chores and then we went at sorting potatoes down in the barn cellar and in the afternoon we went at putting tar paper on the ceiling in the cow stable and Harry came over and helped us & Ralph came over and told him his Mother is worse & we sat the poles for the ice house and it is a rainy day & muddy again the frost is going out fast."

            Sun. Dec. 14: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and it began snowing before day light & snowed a short blizzard but quit about 10 o'clock but it came right down in the mud for about 4 Hours it is about 4 inches guess   We did'nt go to church any of us so all stayed at home   it looks like winter again & is colder."

            Mon. Dec. 15: "In the morning I went down to Argyle with the milk & got a check and the boys done the chores and when I got back I chored around and the Mohigan man from Glens Falls came out after a truck load of potatoes & Harry & Will Jones came over & helped us to load up he took" (no number put in) "at 1.40 per bu and it was cold too and in the afternoon I chored around and it was night then   it is a cold windy day but clear   Frooze up again."

            Tues. Dec. 16: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and I had some business at the Bank & did'nt get home very early   the part for the Engine came & Harry came over & I helped him to fix it or put it together. and the afternoon I chored around it is a very cold day but pleasant   at night it looked like snow & seemed warmer."

            Wed. Dec. 17: " 14º below zero in Argyle  In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and I had some business with John Liddle in fact I bought the McAuley place for him and I got home after noon a little and then I chored around till night   the cold is creeping into the cellars and the wheeling is very good   it is the coldest day we have had yet   the wind is in the North to day & getting colder all the time guess but a pleasant day"  

            Thur. Dec. 18: "30º below at Argyle   In the morning Harold & Marion took the milk down to Argyle and the rest of the children done the chores for I was sick a bed all day   my head ached so & I was dizzy almost crazy.  it is the coldest day we have had so far this year. but the children got the chores done  Harold & Hazel did'nt go to school as it was so cold."

            Fri. Dec. 19: "In the morning Harry took the milk down to Argyle in his car   it is fearful cold   I got up but I did'nt feel able to go out   the children done the chores   James & John C  came home at noon and worked at the chores   it is a cold day but not so cold as yesterday I guess   the Dr. came up to see me to-day. I feel better to-day   it is a pleasant day."

            Sat. Dec. 20: "In the morning Harold & Marion took the milk down to Argyle & the boys and I done the chores   I am out & feeling better to-day   I chored around most of the day   it is a cold day but moderating & is warmer & pleasant   nice winters day but no sleighing but the ground is white."

            Sun. Dec. 21: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the boys & I done the chores and Marion, Hazel & Harry Oliver went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron & they stayed for Sunday school and the rest of us stayed at home & done the chores and kept house and it is a cold winters day."

            Mon. Dec. 22: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the boys & I done the chores and I chored around and in the afternoon I helped Marion to kill her roosters & a man came out here from Glens Falls & got them and it is some warmer but winter weather."

            Tues. Dec. 23: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the boys and I done the chores and I husked corn & Marion & Harold rode out to Hudson Falls & brought home our car and after dinner Marion, Mother & Hazel went out to Glens Falls & found Santa Claus & got home about bed time   the car worked fine   we kept the babe amoungst us and it is a fine day   warmer & acts like a thaw."

            Wed. Dec. 24: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and he went down by Sam Rouses & got him to come up and see Roscoes cow   she is sick and it is a cloudy day   I sorted some potatoes husked some corn   it is a cold raw day    snowed some & is cloudy."

            Thur. Dec. 25: "A Merry Christmas.  In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and the boys done the chores   the cow is about the same   We had a Xmas dinner at home by ourselves   I sorted some potatoes & after dinner we all took an Auto Ride down by George McKernons & got some Butter & came back by the Lake & went down to West Hebron & it is a pleasant day & cold too."

            Fri. Dec. 26: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle and I drove the big team & the boys done the chores James & John C.   Harold stayed in the house  he has a bad cold and sorted some potatoes in the barn cellar and I chored around husked some and it is a good winters day."

            Sat. Dec. 27: "In the morning the boys took the milk down to Argyle and James & I done the chores & got ready for threshing & Harry & Will Jones brought the Engine over & got ready to thresh the buckwheat and we began before noon awhile & finished awhile after dinner and we had 79 bu and it is a nice day warmer   it thawed some & was cloudy & looked like a storm."

            Sun. Dec. 28: "In the morning I took the milk down to Argyle & I drove the big team and it is nice wheeling   Marion, Hazel & Marjory went to church and they heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron & they stayed for sunday school. & Mother & I stayed at home and kept house and done the chores & kept the youngsters and it is a raw windy day   getting colder all day."

            Mon. Dec. 29: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and the boys & I done the chores & then I sorted some potatoes down in the barn cellar and chored around & Harold & I put up a grist and it is a cold day but pleasant."

            Tues. Dec. 30: "In the morning Harold took the milk down to Argyle and they boys & I done the chores and I chored around   I sorted the rest of the potatoes in the barn cellar and it is a pleasant day but cold."

            Wed. Dec. 31: "In the morning we got up & milked & then we loaded up a grist and I took the milk down to Argyle and took the grist on out to Fort Edward and the boys done the rest of the chores and the folks all came out to Fort Edward with the car & got the boys suits and some shoes etc & they went home before I started   I had a big grist & it was most night when I got home & it is a cold day. We have come to the close of a nother year   it has been a year of High living & prices"
