Harvey's writing in this diary is getting harder to read. I noted (May 18th) where Georgiana takes over the task of writing.  She writes as if it was Harvey was still doing the writing, usually.

 

Thur. Jan. 1: "In the morning Edd & Marion brought the babe up here & they went on over to Salem we kept him all night and it is a nice day only cold zero in places we have begun another year 1925   It is nice sleighing we are running our car yet"

            Fri. Jan. 2: "In the morning Hazel & James went down to West Hebron & got Mary & then we all went down to Edd & Marions & got a New Years Dinner we came back by the Lake & took Mary home & then we came home & we left Florence & Mary E & Johnnie stayed as Edd & Marion was to come up here & leave Helen & the babe as they were going down to Argyle to a dance we got home & we did'nt hear from them for a good while  by & by they Edd & John C got some Laurence Dennis to bring them up here & they took our car & went back & got the folks. Edd, Marion, James, Hazel & Marjory took our car & all came back & stayed all night.
            Sat. Jan. 3: "We all stayed around & after dinner Hazel & James took Marion & Edd & the children down home & snaked Edds car down home also. we did'nt go out to Glens Falls to day as it was a stormy day  Mr Palmers folks drawed water for the cattle."

            Sun. Jan. 4: "James, Florence & Hazel & Marjory went to church they took King & the cutter & the rest of us stayed at home & kept house it is a nice day some cold good winter weather good sleighing now.
            Mon. Jan. 5: "In the morning Hazel & James took Mother & I out to Glens Falls we left Marjory at Argyle Hazel went with us we got the car repaired & when we got back to Argyle we left Hazel & James bought us home we got home after dark awhile the school children after school was out they went over to Mrs Charles McNeils till we came home it is a nice day only cloudy."

            Tues. Jan. 6: "The children went to school to day & are all well Mr Palmers folks are getting up the ice now it is nice ice & good sleighing it is nice weather mild winter weather."

            Wed. Jan. 7: "The children all went to school & are all well. Mr Palmers folks are getting up their ice now it is nice sleighing now & nice going."

            Thur. Jan. 8: "The children all went to school & Mr Palmers folks got up their ice or are working at it now & it is a good time good sleighing & the ice is about 12 inches now. & all water ice too. it is a nice day not very cold & at night we all went down to an exhibition at the Town hall given by the South Argyle folks. & Harrys boys came home with us   Earl & Harold & stayed all night it is good sleighing now."

            Fri. Jan. 9: "The children all went to school to day and we all went James & I went down to Argyle & got the school girls & went back after supper to a Basket Ball game and got home alright it is a nice day & a nice night & a good game."

            Sat. Jan. 10: "In the morning Hazel & James & I & Mother all went out to Glens Falls I seen my Doctor & had a treatment Hazel stopped at Argyle when we got back & the school boys & girls both went up to North Creek & had to go on up to Murevia to play Ball David Black took them up to the place in a load & Edd & Marion came up here & got Marjory & left Helen with Mother & Edd left his car to Argyle when they got back the girls came up home with them & Mary  & stayed all night it was about 4 oclock it got colder."

            Sun. Jan. 11: "We all went to church & Edd & Marion & Helen we all went to church & we heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron and we stayed for sunday school it is getting colder all day wind is in the north. good sleighing around here. Marion & Edd & the children went home before night awhile it is cold."

            Mon. Jan. 12: "In the morning it was warmer 12º above it was warmer than it was last night 6º above  James & Mother took Hazel & Marjory down to Argyle in the car to school & the rest but Oliver went to school it was snowing then but it didnt amount to much but is a cloudy & cool day it looks like snow.  at night Mother & the children cut up the pork"

            Tues. Jan. 13: "Mother washed to day & in the forenoon it snowed most of the time & in the afternoon Mother rendered lard from the old hog & after school was out James took Mother, Florence & Oliver & John C. down to Argyle & they took the sausage down & left it with Howard Yarter to grind and it is a cool & windy day some cloudy.
            Wed. Jan. 14: "The children all went to school to day & it is a cold day getting colder & Mr Palmers folks got out some manure to day It is nice sleighing. it is getting colder all day"

            Thur. Jan. 15: "The children all went to school to day it is pleasant & a cold winter day Mr Palmers folks Moved out some manure"

            Fri. Jan. 16: "The children all went to school and in the afternoon James & I went down to Argyle & got the school girls & brought them home & it snowed hard but we had no trouble it snowed hard at night:

            Sat. Jan. 17: "Hazel took James, Mother & I out to Glens Falls & I seen the Dr & had a treatment we started before noon awhile & got home early at night. and it is very good traveling & good sleighing around here. it is a nice day nice nice winter weather."

            Sun. Jan. 18: "We didnt go to church to day and after dinner we all went down to Marions & seen the children and it is snowy good traveling. & sleighing also. it is a cold night"

            Mon. Jan. 19: "Hazel & Marjory went to school to the regents Buster Palmer & Grace Mag McN rode down with them the other children went to school down here & tried tests. and it is a nice winters day."

            Tues. Jan. 20: "In the forenoon the children went down to Argyle in the car to the regents in the car & came home at night and it is a cloudy & snowy day it snowed 6 inches the other little amount down here it is a nasty day."

            Wed. Jan. 21: "The children went in the bob sleighs to Argyle to regents good sleighing. winter weather any way Oliver & Florence went down to the Island school they came early. Hazel stayed down all night.  The Day boys came down & butchered the Bull."

            Thur. Jan. 22: "The little ones went down here to school about night James & John C took Marjory to Argyle she stayed & they brought home sow feed. it is a nice day snowed some"

            Fri. Jan. 23: "The little ones went down to the island for examination and James went down after the school girls at Argyle in the cutter & took King good sleighing it is getting colder at night."

            Sat. Jan. 24: "They got me up early to see the Eclipse on the sun & it was very cold 3 below zero here & 20 in places it was so cold that we didnt go to Glens Falls to-day nice sleighing now"

            Sun. Jan. 25: "James, Hazel & Marjory went to church and heard a sermon by Mr. McEachron it is a nice day not quite so cold to day Ed & Marion & the children came up & stayed all day they came in a sleigh   cars are going some yet but drifted in places."

            Mon. Jan. 26: "In the morning James took Hazel & Marjory down to Argyle to school in a cutter & King   got back before noon good sleighing now some cars are going yet. the other school children all went to school it is some cloudy & snowed some. at night it got colder & was windy too."

            Tues. Jan. 27: "The school children all but Florence went to school down here it is a very cold day & getting colder all day very windy a bad day to be out."

            Wed. Jan. 28: "The school children al but Florence all went down here to school it is a pleasant day but was a cold night our potatoes are freezing in the cellar to cold for me I stay around the house. Mr Palmers folks are chopping for me I guess."

            Thur. Jan. 29: "The school children all went to school to day It is a nice day I hung around the house & close to the stove the most of the time."

            Fri. Jan. 30: "It snowed & blowed all last night there was no school to day at the Island it faired of before night & James went down to Argyle & got Hazel & Marjory in a cutter their was no school at Argyle to day. The roads were drifted bad in places."

            Sat. Jan. 31: "Mr Palmer & the boys helped to open the roads out around here & in the afternoon James took Mother down to West Hebron to see her Mother took King & the cutter the rest of us stayed at home it was quite a blow last night."

            Sun. Feb. 1: "James & John C. Hazel, Marjory & Mary E. went to church with Mr Gilchrists folks the roads werent in very good shape they went in the Bob Sleighs. the rest of us stayed at home lots of snow now"

`           Mon. Feb. 2: "In the morning James took the girls down to Argyle to school & when he came back he & the rest all but Florence went to school down to the island it snowed nearly all day lots of snow the roads are very good to Argyle."

            Tues. Feb. 3: "The children all went to school to day the roads are all full again it snowed nearly 10 inches yesterday I keep around the house it is a nice pleasant day Mr Palmers worked on the roads to day & done the chores and the snow is very deep now."

            Wed. Feb. 4: "The children all went to school & Mr Palmers folks cut wood down in the woods & it is a nice day cold roads are in bad shape"

            Thur. Feb. 5: (Harvey had written Fridays entries on Thursday's page & vice versa) "It is good sleighing & James went down & got the school girls at Argyle there was no school at either school as the teachers was to a Institute at Glens Falls "

            Fri. Feb. 6: "It is good sleighing there is no school to day the boys all took Hazel down to Argyle no school to day they got some cow feed to day It is a nice day at night James & Mary E went down to West Hebron to a play  a man by the name of Hollis Gage came her from Hebron to get the place to work for a nother year. I guess we made a trade."

            Sat. Feb. 7: "In the afternoon James took Mother and I down to Argyle in the cutter & we met Edd there with his car & he took us out to Glens Falls to see my Dr I had a treatment and we stoped at Argyle when we came back we stopped to see the game of Ball & James brought the folks all down to the ball game of Ball & we came home in the sleighs it is a nice day it thawed quite a lot"

            Sun. Feb. 8: "We didnt go to church to day but we all went down to Edds & Marions & stayed all day we went in the bob sleighs I enjoyed the ride greatly we got home after dark awhile it thawed quite a lot to day & was a nice day it acts like spring"

            Mon. Feb. 9: "In the morning James took the girls down to school at Argyle in a cutter with King Mother washed it is a nice pleasant day the young children went to school down to the Island."

            Tues. Feb. 10: "The children all went to school to day and it is a nice pleasant day"

            Wed. Feb. 11: "The boys drawed some wood. Florence did'nt go to school she has a bad cold the sleighing is getting poor in places."

            Thur. Feb. 12: "There is no school at Argyle Marion went up & got Marjory she stayed all night & Hazel stayed up to Argyle & went to rehearse the exhibition to come it rained & turned to snow & came right down & was quite a storm there was to school at the Island they were all at home."

            Fri. Feb. 13: "The boys drawed wood in the forenoon and in the afternoon the boys & Mother tried out the car they went down the hills alright but had hard work in getting back at night the boys & Mary E went to a ball game & brought home the girls with them Will Keyworth came along with Rawleighs drugs & stayed all night It is a nice day . it acts like spring"

            Sun. Feb. 15: "Hazel, James & Marjory went to church & heard a sermon by Mr McEachron & the rest of us stayed at home & Marion & Edd & the children came up here it is a cloudy day & rained & snowed & was foggy Edd & Marion stayed all night"

            Mon. Feb. 16: "In the morning Marion & Edd went down home & James took the girls to school at Argyle the children all but Florence went to school. it is a nice day."

            Tues. Feb. 17: "Mother washed to day the children all went to school to day it is rather cloudy but did'nt storm I think the boys got a load of wood in the morning & then went to school."

            Wed. Feb. 18: "The children all went to school It is a nice day it was cold in the morning the sleighing is poor in places Mr Palmers folks cut wood for us."

            Thur. Feb. 19: "The boys stayed at home in the forenoon & drawed wood up to the door & Mr Palmers folks cut wood the rest went to school & the boys did in the afternoon. It is a nice day only cool south wind."

            Fri. Feb. 20: "In the morning the boys went down to the lower place & got a load of wood they all went to school but Florence she stayed at home  Edd & Marion & Helen all came up & stayed all day in the cutter. Edd took the radiator off our truck & took it down to Dewey Cornells & got it mended & brought it back & put it on & they stayed all night & James & Edd went down to West Hebron to a Basket Ball game the sleighing is poor down that way the boys drawed wood or some"

            Sat. Feb. 21: "The boys drawed wood all day the snow melted fast the sleighing is most gone & about night Hazel & Marjory went down to the school house & rode down to Argyle & rode down to Argyle with Ralph Weir & the boys & girls went down to Cambridge to play Basket Ball both teams won Marion & Edd went also they did'nt get home very early. it rained some the sleighing is most gone."

            Sun. Feb. 22: "It rained last night & it thawed a lot the sleighing is most gone We did'nt go to church so we all stayed at home it is a nice pleasant day quite icy in the road it acts like spring it is a bright day & pleasant."

            Mon. Feb. 23: "It frooze last night and got warmer & rained some in the morning James took the girls down to Argyle to school with King  and the rest of the children went to school all of them to day it thawed some all night but not very cold"

            Tues. Feb. 24: "Edd telephoned up here in the morning to see about taken some apples & potatoes & in the afternoon he came up & got the truck to take a load of potatoes for him to morrow & the next day to take some apples the next day."

            Wed. Feb. 25: "The children all went to school to day & the boys & I sorted 5 barrels of apples It is a nice day. Edd took a load of potatoes for him self to Saratoga in the truck & at night the boys & I put up 25 bu of potatoes for Edd to take some day it thawed a lot to day."

            Thur. Feb. 26: "It is a cold raw windy & rough day It snowed part of the day it came right in the mud It rained a lot last night & turned to snow in the morning In the afternoon Harry came along & he got in the mud below his house & Mr. Palmer & his boys took the team & went down & drawed the truck out & brought it over here & put it in the barn & went at repairing it & it is very cold & rough. James stayed at home John C & Florence & Oliver did also."

            Fri. Feb. 27: "Harry & his man worked most all day on his truck & got it done & about night his man took his car & went down to Argyle & got the school girls and it is a cold rough day the wind keeps up yet & James is about sick & laid around all day."

            Sat. Feb. 28: "It is a nice pleasant day but cold wind has gone down but keeps cold In the afternoon Edd, Marion & the children came up here in the truck & stayed all night. James was sick & laid around all day."

            Sun. Mar. 1: "We did'nt go to church so we all stayed at home & kept house Edd & Marion & the children stayed all night it is a stormy day rained & snowed some"

            Mon. Mar. 2: "In the morning the boys & Edd loaded up 25 bu Potatoes & 6 bbls of apples & Edd & James took them down to Saratoga & got back about dark they got all prices & brought home the Ben Davis it is a nice day only rather cool & windy."

            Tues. Mar. 3: "It is a cool day in the afternoon Edd & James went up to John Weirs & got a calf & took it down to his house & brought up some apples & left them at Argyle & then they got home after dark & we sorted a load of potatoes after supper and it is a cool raw day James is better to day. very good wheeling."

            Wed. Mar. 4: "In the morning the boys loaded up 40 bu Potatoes & Edd & James took the load to Schenectady they got red of them at 75¢ per bu but had a long trip got back bed time I guess they got enough of the trip it was a nice day."

            Thur. Mar. 5: "In the morning Edd took the truck & went up to Billy Mahaffys & got some apples & he & Marion took the children & went down home Edd took the apples & some of his potatoes to Glens Falls. & it is a nice day"

            Fri. Mar. 6: "The children all but James & Florence went to school & in the afternoon Edd brought up the truck & put the Battery in the Nash & we all took it & went down & got the school girls at Argyle. and it is a fine spring day it thawed a lot & is very muddy the snow is looking spotted now it is a warm day."

            Sat. Mar. 7: "about noon we had dinner early & Hazel, Mother, Hazel & I went out to Glens Falls I seen my Doctor & had a treatment we had a blowout & had to get 2 new shoes & got home early. it is a nother Spring day warm & pleasant very muddy. the other children stayed at home they tapped some trees sap run good"

            Sun. Mar. 8: "Hazel, Marjory & John C went to church & the rest of us stayed at home & kept house the childrens colds are no worse we think    it is a cloudy & warm day   it looked like rain."

            Mon. Mar. 9: "It thawed a lot to day very muddy now in the morning James took the girls down to Argyle to school & the teacher down to the Island school was sick & no school down here the boys taped some more trees & gathered sap & boiled sap to day."

            Tues. Mar. 10: "I looks like a storm. There was no school to day as the teacher was sick In the afternoon James & John C went down to Argyle & got some sap spoils & when they came back they taped some trees at the lower place"

            Wed. Mar. 11: "There was school to day & the children all but Florence went to school we think she has the Whooping cough she coughs hard Mother boiled sap to day"

            Thur. Mar. 12: "The children all but Florence went to school to day the boys gathered some sap it is a fair sap day Mr Palmer is straightening up to day."

            Fri. Mar. 13: "The children all but Florence went to school to day at night James went down to Argyle to a Basket Ball game & brought home the girls and it is a cloudy day. Palmers folks moved some to-day."

            Sat. Mar. 14: "Mr Palmer moved away to day and Mr Gage was over & cut some wood to day on the lower place in the afternoon James & John C went down to Argyle & got some cow feed this is Palmers last day here."

            Sun. Mar. 15: "The boys helped Mr Gage do the chores milk etc. him & his man was over also. Palmers folks got nearly mooved out yesterday we all stayed at home to day & didn't go to church it is a nice day but cold for the time of year."

            Mon. Mar. 16: "In the morning the boys got up early & done most of the milking & James took the girls down to Argyle to school drove King pretty rough going the other children all but Florence went to school to day cold & raw day for the time of year"

            Tues. Mar. 17: "It rained & snowed quite hard the children all but Florence went to school and it cleared off before night the boys done the milking at morning & night   Mr Gage helped also. it is a nasty day"

            Wed. Mar. 18: "Mother boiled sap all day It is a nice day the children all but Florence went to school the boys Helped Mr Gage to do the milking He goes home nights. Mr. Palmer was up to get his check."

            Thur. Mar. 19: "The boys helped with the chores & Mr Gage helped & chored around cut some wood and the children all but Florence went to school it is a windy day."

            Fri. Mar. 20: "The boys done the milking Mr Gage helped & he chored around & drawed Manure in the afternoon & James & Florence & Mother went down to Argyle & got the school girls they took the car & it was muddy. Florence stayed at home the boys went to school."

            Sat. Mar. 21: "James, John C & Oliver helped Mr Gage & his man to draw manure in the field cross from the barn & in the afternoon Hazel took Mother & I out to Glens Falls to my old Dr I had one treatment it is pretty muddy & hard & rough going It is a nice day not very cold Spring day."

            Sun. Mar. 22: "We didnt go to church so we all stayed at home & kept house it is a nice day the boys helped to do the chores and it is a nice pleasant day."

            Mon. Mar. 23: "In the morning James took the girls down to Argyle to school & the children all but Florence went to school it is a good sap day Mother boiled sap all day she didnt wash the boys helped to milk & do the chores. It is a nice day"

            Tues. Mar. 24: "The children all but Florence went to school the boys helped to milk & do the chores and it is a good sap day Mother boiled sap all day the boys gathered the sap It freezes nights & sap runs good"

            Wed. Mar. 25: "The children all but Florence went to school it s a good sap day Mother boiled sap all day it frooze some last night sap runs very good. the boys helped Mr Gage do the chores & milking it is a mild spring day."

            Thur. Mar. 26: "The children all but Florence went to school Mother boiled sap all day & the boys helped chore & milk It is a nice pleasant day sap run good to day it is a nice day but it looks like rain at night. & is warmer."

            Fri. Mar. 27: "In the forenoon they all went to school but Florence In the afternoon James stayed at home & helped with the sap & he took Mother down to see Harry Barkly he is better the boys helped at the chores & at night we all went down to the school Exhibition & stayed for the Dance afterwards it rained & was very wet & muddy going It is a cloudy & windy day."

            Sat. Mar. 28: "It is a nasty day rained all day In the afternoon Mother & I & Hazel & James all went out to Glens Falls I had a treatment It is a nasty day & very windy the boys done the chores at night."

            Sun. Mar. 29: "We didnt go to church and Ed & Marion brought up the children & stayed all day the children have Whooping cough It is a cloudy & rainy day nasty time the boys helped with the chores."

            Mon. Mar. 30: "In the morning James took the girls down to Argyle to school he took a wagon & King and the children all went to school It is a cloudy & raw day rained some & it is very muddy"

            Tues. Mar. 31: "Mr Gage mooved some things & the boys helped to do the chores the children all but Florence went to school to day it is a nice day."

            Wed. Apr. 1: "Mr Gage & his Family mooved over to the house to day he has a nother man now. Peter Clute the boys helped to do the chores it is a warm day but rather cloudy."

            Thur. Apr. 2: "Mr Gage mooved some things over to day & the boys helped to do the chores and it is a nice day the children all went to school to day & it is a nice day some are plowing in places."

            Fri. Apr. 3: "Willett Gillis Sawed our wood & Mr Gage helped the boys to saw & Willett had no men on    James threw back & they got it all sawed I it is is a nice day cool James & John C & Mr Gage went down to Argyle with the car & brought home the girls from school"

            Sat. Apr. 4: "In the morning Hazel, John C took me out to Glens Falls & James stayed at home & Helped Mr Gage to draw manure & Mother stayed at home. It is a nice day rained a little showers now & then."

            Sun. Apr. 5: "Mother, James, Hazel, Marjory, Florence , Mary E & Oliver went to church & heard a sermon by Mr McEachron & they stayed for sunday school John C & I stayed at home & kept house & after dinner we all went down to Marions & seen the children they have the Whooping cough but are getting along very well It is a pleasant day but is a raw day roads are getting some better."

            Mon. Apr. 6: "In the morning James & I took the girls down to Argyle to school in the car I went to the Bank on business the other children went to school & it is a nice pleasant day but it was cold last night it frooze hard but got warmer. Mr Gage started the Plow to day in good shape Earl & Harold came over with Harry & stayed all night Harry gave us $100 on the Rabbit place & Inst on the Kinney place $30"

            Tues. Apr. 7: "The children went to school to day but Florence she stayed at home Earl & Harold went to school also It is a nice day Mr Gage went to Salem in the forenoon after some Fright & Pete done the chores."

            Wed. Apr. 8: "The children all went to school to day but Florence in the forenoon & I tired to work at the wood but didnt get far ahead my rupture came out & I had to have the Dr come up & put it back In the afternoon Hazel, Marjory, James, Mother & Mary E. & I went out to Fort Edward & took Earl & Harold home. & we got home about night it is pretty muddy."

            Thur. Apr. 9: "In the forenoon James & John C stayed at home & put up a load of potatoes & Edd came up at noon & the boys helped to load up & he took a load out to South Glens Falls & 16 chickens   potatoes 20 bu at 50¢ & chickens at 25¢ he didnt come back this way he left the bags at Howard Yarters. It is a nice day"

            Fri. Apr. 10: "In the morning James, Mother, Marjory & Florence & I took Hazel out to Fort Edward Depot as she went with the Senior Class on a trip to Washington she intends to be back in a week from to day. it is a cloudy day & began raining by noon."

            Sat. Apr. 11: "James plowed for Mr Gage & the other boys worked at the wood pile it rained quite a lot last night & but was all cleared off in the morning."

            Sun. Apr. 12: "James, Marjory & Mary E went to church drove King & the rest of us stayed at home it is a nice day it begun raining at night. It snowed this morning"

            Mon. Apr. 13: "In the morning the ground was white 3 inches deep I guess it must of snowed all night I guess. In the afternoon James plowed for Mr. Gage and Edd McEachron took Mr Gage up to West Fort Ann to get some of his folks & a load of mooving in his truck. he got back about dark The women washed."

            Tues. Apr. 14: "The boys worked at the wood pile & Mr. Gage sold big Bess to a man who came along in a car & it rained some & is a nasty time & it turned to snow"

            Wed. Apr. 15: "It is a cloudy day we heard fro Hazel she has arrived in Washington It is some cloudy the boys worked at the wood pile. mistake the boys sorted some potatoes"

            Thur. Apr. 16: "The women are cleaning house the boys split wood nearly all day I am selling by the fire in the road we heard from Hazel to day she left It is a nice day & pleasant also had a Thunder shower in the afternoon it rained hard."

            Fri. Apr. 17: "The boys worked on the wood pile all day The women folks cleaned house Mr Gage drawed manure etc about noon James & Mother & Florence went down to Argyle after Hazel she came out to Argyle from Fort Edward with Mr McNeil & in the afternoon we all went down to see Marion & the children & took the Puppy down to Helen It is a nice day cool"

            Sat. Apr. 18: "In the forenoon the boys worked at the wood pile & in the afternoon they finished the pile & Hazel, Mother & I went out to Glens Falls I had a treatment we got home about dark.  rough going"

            Sun. Apr. 19: "We didnt go to church any of us so we all stayed at home & it snowed most all day & we had a snow.  Thunder shower sharp lightening snowed alot 3 or 4 inches the boys helped to milk John C had a tooth ache it certainly is a nasty day."

            Mon. Apr. 20: "In the morning James took the girls down to school at Argyle there is no school at the Island to-day it snowed a lot last night & it continued to snow to day it is very bad going James took King & the carriage"

            Tues. Apr. 21: "Mr Gage took his wifes Sister out to Hudson Falls & the children all but Florence went to school John C stayed at home also his face was swollen it is a nice pleasant day but cool air"

            Wed. Apr. 22: "The children all but Florence went to school to day the snow melted quite fast to day but cool air James & John C did not go to school they had swollen _ates to day Mr Gage chored around."

            Thur. Apr. 23: "The children went to school & it is a nice day I am feeling very good but don't do any thing."

            Fri. Apr. 24: "In the Forenoon the children went to school James came home early & went down to Argyle & got the children or girls from school"

            Sat. Apr. 25: "In the morning the boys chored around at noon we started for Glens Falls we went down by Marions & left Marjory, Florence & Mary E. & the rest of us went to Glens Falls I had a treatment & James & John C got new suits at Oppenheims we came we stoped at Argyle & looked over H. A. McEachrons house. asking price $400 we did'nt purchase"

            Sun. Apr. 26: "In the morning Hazel went down to get Marion & the children & brought them up here & then Hazel, Oliver, John C James, Marjory went down to Argyle M. E. church as it was childrens day & about night Hazel, Mother & I took Marion & the children home & it is a nice day Pleasant."

            Mon. Apr. 27: "Mother washed to day there was no school down here"

            Tues. Apr. 28: "Mr Gages Men plowed all day The children went to school down to the Dist school It is a nice day but cold the ground is in good shape now Mr Gage hasnt sowed his oats yet."

            Wed. Apr. 29: "The children went to school & Mr Gage plowed up in the meadow I sat around the stove am feeling good."

            Thur. Apr. 30: "It rained hard most all day & is very cold a very backward time it is very wet now. the Men chored around the men has got the meadow on top of the hill most plowed"

            Fri. May 1: "The children all went to school and James came home early & he & Mother went down to Argyle & got the girls in the car it is a cool raw day but is very wet"

            Sat. May 2: "In the afternoon Hazel took Mother, James & Mr Gage & I out to Hudson Falls we sold the place to Mr Gage We have got to get out as soon as we can get a place. we drawed the mileings or got Mr Fisk & then we went on up to Glens Falls I had a treatment we got home about Dark"

            Sun. May 3: "In the Morning Hazel, John, James, Marjory, Mary E went to church & heard a sermon by Mr Eachron & Mother & I stayed at home & after dinner we all went to Granville & seen Hounds picture and it is a nice day but cool quite cold."

            Mon. May 4: "In the morning James took the girls down to school at Argyle in a buggie and Harry came over awhile in the afternoon it is some cloudy but it is a nice day at night we had a very heavy Thunder shower & rain"

            Tues. May 5: "I did not feel very good all day Marion & Edds Mother came up I got better at night it is a cool day it rained a lot last night the men plowed all day & it is wet also. The Doctor came up at night and James went down after the girls at Argyle to stay all night. James Stayed home in the forenoon.

            Wed. May 6: "It is a cool & cloudy day it rained 2 or 3 squirts & is cool raw day I am feeling better to day it is cool & cloudy the men plowed & is rather wet also. They are getting pretty well along plowing. it is cool also. James took the girls to school with the horse"

            Thur. May 7: "In the afternoon James took Mother & I down to Argyle and Florence & Hazel took us from Argyle out to Glens Falls I seen the Dr & had a treatment & I didnt feel very good in the forenoon but felt good in the afternoon and we got home before night awhile."

            Fri. May 8: "Mr Gages folks plowed most of the day. and in the afternoon we went down to Argyle & got the girls. James drove the car & took us and it is a nice pleasant day but it keeps cool at night we all went down to a Minstrel show at West Hebron   it was good"

            Sat. May 9: "In the forenoon the men plowed & in the afternoon Hazel took Mother, Florence & I out to Glens Falls I went & had a treatment from the old Dr. we got home about night   it is a nice day but keeps cool"

            Sun. May 10: "Hazel, Mother, Marjory in fact we all went to church and heard a sermon by Mr McEachron & we stayed for sunday school and after dinner we all went over to Harrys & on our way home we came back by Marions & stoped awhile & then came home & it looked like rain  It is a nice day warmer."

            Mon. May 11: "It rained a lot last night in the morning James took the girls down to Argyle to school in the wagon it was raining the rest of the children went to school it is a nasty day rainy it is wet again"

            Tues. May 12: "It is a nice day Mother washed & got her clothes dried the children all went to school the men plowed to day in the field cross from the barn they are getting pretty well along plowing now"

            Wed. May 13: "The children went to school to day and Marion & Helen came up about noon & got our carpet sweeper & went right back and the men dragged the Oat ground again getting  ready to sow the oats again it acts like rain again I think it is a nice warm day  leaves are coming out pretty fast now. & it is a nice pleasant day & warm too."

            Thur. May 14: "It is a nice day Mr Gage sowed oats or drilled them in and about night James & I went down to Argyle after the girls from school It is a nice day"

            Fri. May 15: "In the morning we all went down to Argyle it was field day they was a crowd there & it is a nice day Mr gage's boys went with us. we got back in good season & Helen came home with us & stayed all night it rained some last night we went down & looked at Herbert Ellis place & about made a trade for it  $3000 at night James & the girls went down to Argyle to a dance."

            Sat. May 16: "In the afternoon Hazel took Mother & I & Florence out to Glens Falls I seen the Dr & had a treatment we got home about night"

            Sun. May 17: "Hazel, James & Marjory, Mary E, John C, Mother, Olliver went to church and heard a sermon by Mr McEachron & they stayed for sunday school & Mary E & I stayed at home & done the chores"

            Mon. May 18: "In the morning Florence was sick & James & I took the girls down to school at Argyle in the car & we went down & seen Mr Ellis & we bought or made a trade for his place $8000 I paid him 500 down we got back in good season Mr Gage finished sowing the oats. I think Mr Kelleher"

            Tues. May 19: "It is a nice day Mr Gage plowed The children all went to school and mother washed The Insurance men were at Mr Gages last night and he is going to take out a farm Mortgage Insurance Policy"

            Wed. May 20: "It was a nice day and the children all went to school in the forenoon and in the afternoon James & Florence stayed out and James took us to Argyle and then we took Herbert Ellis & Mrs Ellis out to Hudson Falls to Mr Fisks office and had the papers made out and we now have a home in Argyle Hazel stopped and stayed at Argyle and James drove the car home. It was nearly night when we got home. Edd took a load of potatoes to Mr Sweet at South G. F.

            Thur. May 21: "The children all went to school."

            Fri. May 22: "The children all went to school and as soon as school was out we all went down to Argyle after the girls and set a Hyderangea bush out on our lot at the Cemetery and a Crimson Rambler down at our new place. Hazel went to the convention at Argyle at night."

            Sat. May 23: "In the morning Hazel, Father & James got ready to go to Glens Falls to see the Dr we intended to go to Mrs. Harvey Randles Funeral in the afternoon but they didnt get home in time. Charley Smith went out with them to get his Chauffaurs License Orrie, Eva & John Henry came out in the afternoon and stayed all night. They brought Rip with them Harve isn't very good today went to bed as soon as he got his dinner and slept all afternoon seems absent minded & Drowsy."

            Sun. May 24: "James, John C, Hazel, Marjory, Mary E, John H & Eva all went to church and it is very cold we kept two fires going all day. Orrie stayed at home with the rest of us In the afternoon about Five oclock John H's folks went home and in a little while Marion & Edd & Helen came and was here for supper   Harve is not very good"

            Mon. May 25: "In the morning James took the girls down to Argyle with the horse and and it rained and snowed quite a little."

            Tues. May 26: "The children all went to school in the morning but Mary E. she stayed home to help Mother wash it is a nice day but quite cool. There was a social over at church but we didnt go James went down after the girls in the afternoon so he didn't go to school in the afternoon"

            Wed. May 27: "In the morning the girls went to school with the car and the other children went down to Goose Island Mary Barkley & Emma came along and stopped they were going to Glens Falls and about noon Marion came up and brought Helen and stayed in the afternoon and at night after school We cleaned out the well Pete went down in and dipped out the water & dirt and Mr Gage helped too."

            Thur. May 28: "The children all went to school and Mary W came up here with Helen Lant when she came home from school and at night we all went down to Argyle to a play by the Christian Endeavor Society. It was pretty good but awful long. The girls drove king to school and got him shod."

            Fri. May 29: "The children all went to school down here in the forenoon and the girls drove the horse to Argyle and at noon James & Florence came home and we went to Argyle and Hazel took us out to Glens Falls to Dr Mulcahy's Mary went with us. and James came right back from Argyle and drove king Marjory waited at Mrs McDougalls for us"

            Sat. May 30: "In the morning Mother and the girls hurried and got things baked and we all went down to the cemetery with flowers and took our dinner down to our place in Argyle and ate it there and in the afternoon we went up to the hall to the Memorial day exercise We had 2 or 3 showers and it looked like one when we got home but it went around Georgias Mother went with us."

            Sun. May 31: "We all went to church and when we went we took Mary W down home she didn't want to go to church so we didn't wait   on our way home down by Claytons place we met a car and turned out and went into the mud and had quite a time getting out   In the afternoon Everetts folk & Kenneths came over and stayed awhile and at night Hazel, Marjory, Mary E, James & John C went to prayer meeting. Marjory was leader They took Pete Clute with them."

            Mon. Jun. 1: "In the morning the children all went to school and Mother washed   Mr Gages man Charley Smith, went away last night to drive a truck for a day or two. He is getting ready to plant corn."

            Tues. Jun. 2: "In the morning the girls drove King to school and and the other children all went down to our school and in the afternoon James took Mother, Florence & I down to Argyle to the place we bought and James brought King down there and dragged the garden and then we went out to Hudson Falls to pick out the fixtures for the Electric lights in the house. Hazel took us and James and Marjory came home with the horse"

            Wed. Jun. 3: "In the morning the children all went to school. Mother baked & Ironed and at night after father, James, John C, Mary E & Florence went for a ride to John Weirs & John McKernons they went after an auger to finish making a marker Jimmie was making. It has been awful hot.  Mr Gage & Pete are planting corn"

            Thur. Jun. 4: "In the morning the girls went to school in the car and the others went down here at night the girls brought Betty Black home with them and they went to a picnic at the oaks at night and we went to Marions with them and didnt get home until about 11 oclock.  I dont get up until late these days. Mr Gage finished planting corn in the field across from the barn"

            Fri. Jun. 5: "In the morning the girls went to school with the horse and we were going down at night after school and Jimmie was going to drag the ground there but it was so hot we didn't go. The rest of the children went to school a Goose Island. It is an awful hot day."

            Sat. Jun. 6: "We all stayed home all day it was so hot we didn't go to Glens Falls The boys James & John C went down to our place at Argyle with Ned & Snowball and dragged the field that was plowed before and some men from Watervleit came and we sold the rest of our potatoes 43 bu for .45 cts. and at night we went down to Salem we stopped and took Mary W with us Mother cut off Florence's curls today she look odd but cool."

            Sun. Jun. 7: "We all went to church in the morning and stayed home and tried to keep cool in the afternoon. Mr McEachron preached. and at night Hazel, Marjory, Mary E, James & John C. went to Salem to a picture show of Mission pictures by George Murdock they liked them Mother, Harry O. Florence & I stopped at Marys and I listened on the Radio."

            Mon. Jun. 8: "The children went to school the girls drove the car down to Argyle and mother washed it is about as hot as ever but I dont mind it."

            Tues. Jun. 9: "Harvey's Birthday  In the morning the girls went to school early and took 2 Rocking chairs down to the county house to have a man there put some splint bottoms in them they brought one home from Bert Mixes the night before, he had put a new rocker on it the other children all went to school at Goose Island. At night we all went to West Hebron. Hazel & Marjory went to the parsonage to practice music for childrens Day the rest stayed at Marys."

            Wed. Jun. 10: "In the morning Hazel & Marjory went to school and Oliver was the only one  that had to go to the Dist school there is examinations. Mary E & John C had to go in the afternoon Jimmie worked for Mr Gage planted corn all day."

            Thur. Jun. 11: "Hazel & Marjory went to school at Argyle & Oliver went down at Goose Island for examinations Before school time Oscar R Northup came to see us He has not been around here for about 16 yrs. He looks like his father and some like Uncle Oscar   Nettie and the children came over and stayed for dinner. In the afternoon we went down to Argyle to our place and the boys planted corn. Jimmie & John C went down in the morning and dragged & marked out the field & garden. Oscar came back at night to see Hazel, Marjory, James, John C and stayed for supper."

            Fri. Jun. 12: "Hazel & Marjory drove King to school and the rest of us went down here to the school picnic There was quite a few there and Marion & Edd and the children came up here after the picnic and then we went down to the place at Argyle to plant the potatoes."

            Sat. Jun. 13: "In the morning James went to the McAuley place to help plant corn and Hazel, Florence, Mother & I went to Glens Falls to see my Dr and mother & Hazel got some cloth for dresses for the girls & Hazel got a dress to Graduate in and James, Marjory, Mary E & Harry Oliver went over to the church to practice for childrens Day. John C went down with Mr Gage to plant corn. It was almost night when we got home."

            Sun. Jun. 14: "I didn't get up in time to go to church so mother, Oliver & I stayed home   all the rest of the family went"

            Mon. Jun. 15: "In the morning James & John C went down to Argyle and cultivated our potatoes and Hazel went down to Argyle with the car and Francis Foster went with her and tried examinations James & John C & Harry O went down to the McAuley place to pick Strawberries in the afternoon."

            Tues. Jun. 16: "The children all went to Argyle to try exams only Oliver & Florence James & John C drove King and James came home at noon the rest had to stay all day"

            Wed. Jun. 17: "The children all went down to Argyle to exams in the car and they all came home at noon only Hazel. we went after her at night after school   Jimmie took the rest of the children down to the McAuley place and picked Strawberries."

            Thur. Jun. 18: "In the morning Hazel & Marjory went down to Argyle to try Examinations and at night we went down to Marions and stayed a while Jimmie helped Mr Gage he drove the team on the disks up on the hill above the horse pasture   the other children picked Strawberries."

            Fri. Jun. 19: "The boys helped with the chores. Jimmie & John C helped Mr Gage cultivated corn across the road from the barn and Hazel went to Lake St Catharine to a picnic for the Seniors given by the Juniors and stayed for a Dance at night"

            Sat. Jun. 20: "It rained in the forenoon and we all went to Glens Falls I went to the Doctors We got home about 2 oclock and the children and Hazel went over to church to practice for  for childrens Day. Jimmie helped Mr Gage Drag up on the hill"

            Sun. Jun. 21: "We all went to church It was children Day In the afternoon we had company Dr Mulcahy & Irving Forts folks came out here It rained hard at night and we went Down to Argyle U P church to hear the Baccalaurett Sermon. Hazel got her examination and well Graduate this week"

            Mon. Jun. 22: "In the morning we washed and in the afternoon we went down to Marions and stayed a while Edd is some better Jimmie helped Mr Gage cut potatoes and after noon a little Harry S came along and stopped awhile. after we got home Hazel & Jimmie went down to Argyle Hazel had to practice for communcement tomorrow night"

            Tues. Jun. 23: "In the forenoon the women folk done the Ironing and afternoon Hazel went down to West Hebron after Mary W and Mr Breen The Nash man came here with a present for Hazel and while he was here Jennie Durkee telephoned us that she had come down to Argyle and Mr Breen, Hazel & Marjory went down in his car after her and at night we all went down to Graduation exercises. Hazel done fine   we were proud of her."

            Wed. Jun. 24: "In the morning Hazel went down to Argyle to Decorate Grange Hall for the Seniors Ball tonight and she got home about 2:30 O clock and then we went down to West Hebron to take Mary & Jen down and Mother stopped at Barkley to see Harry awhile. He is not so well has his bed down stairs and was in bed all day has been getting weaker lately. at night Hazel & Marjory Went to Argyle to the Senior Ball. Jimmie planted potatoes for Mr Gage"

            Thur. Jun. 25: "In the morning The boys helped do chores and then Mr Gage helped them clean out the well again and in the afternoon the boys went to Argyle to get a Baseball and in the afternoon we began to pack some things and at night Hazel went to the Alumni Banquet the Seniors were the guests of Honor."

            Fri. Jun. 26: "In the morning we went to picking up the rugs and the boys helped and in the afternoon Hazel, Marjory & Florence went down to the county house and got 2 rocking chairs that a man there bottomed for us and at night Hazel, Marjory, Mary E, Jimmie & John C went to a social at the church and went down to West Hebron and got Jen and took her to the social with them and she came home with them"

            Sat. Jun. 27: "In the morning the boys helped with the chores and in the afternoon Hazel, Florence, Mother & I went out to Glens Falls and took Jen out to Hudson Falls and I went out the Dr's when were on our way home we had some terrible thunder showers. The worst I ever was out in and when we got almost home we met Marion & Helen they had been up home and after night we had another hard shower."

            Sun. Jun. 28: "We didnt go to church because it rained and it stopped before dinner and in the afternoon we went down to Marions the telephones are in bad shape on account of the showers yesterday we couldn't get Marion and we anxious to learn if she got home alright but she did and after we got we had another hard Shower"

            Mon. Jun. 29: "In the morning the women washed and in the afternoon Mother and Jimmie went down to Argyle to get some groceries & paint and then the folks went at fixing a sofa and put a new cover on it and varnished it   It was too rainy for the boys to do anything out of doors."

            Tues. Jun. 30: "It was pleasant and the women washed again today   The women & boys painted chairs & Sofa's and in the afternoon we went down to Argyle to the place and Mother & Jimmie brought the truck home Guy Barkley got it finished today."

            Wed. Jul. 1: "In the morning we got up early and the the boys loaded up a load of wood on the truck and the women ironed and in the afternoon we went down to Argyle and did some work there"

            Thur. Jul. 2: "The women are picking up and and the boys are drawing wood everybody is busy"

            Fri. Jul. 3: "In the morning the boys loaded up a load of wood from the pile by the wood shed door and started to go out of the yard and turn around and the front wheel came off of the truck and Hazel took Jimmie & John C & Florence down with a load of boxes & other stuff and took Guy Barkley back with them and he fixed the truck so the boys took a load of wood down and left the truck and Hazel took a load down in the Nash and brought the the boys home and went out to Glens Falls and Jimmie took the truck home at night."

            Sat. Jul. 4: "In the morning the boys loaded up a load of wood on the truck and we made two freezers of Ice Cream Mr Gage furnished the milk & Ice and we furnished the other things and made it and we each had a freezer full and Mr Gage got his double wagon around and him and the boys loaded a load of wood on it and we all came down to Argyle and stayed for supper and Marion & Edd & Helen came and we kept Helen at night."

            Sun. Jul. 5: "We all went to church and took Helen with us and in the afternoon we went down to Marions and took Helen and had a lunch there and went over to West Hebron and Mother, Oliver, Florence & I stayed at Mary Ws and the rest went to Prayer Meeting and they came back there for us after meeting."

            Mon. Jul. 6: "In the morning the boys loaded up a load of wood and we took it to Argyle and the women folk did the washing and are picking up and packing to get ready to move

 Some people came along and I let them put bottoms in 2 big chairs & 2 little chairs"

            Tues. Jul. 7: "In the morning the women ironed and baked and the boys took a load of wood down to Argyle and John C & I took King down and the boys cultivated with him and in the afternoon the boys brought a load of furniture and John C & Harry O. took the horse home and Mother & Jimmie came home in the truck. Hazel had  to go to Claytons early and we all went over to church to a rally. Marjory & Mary E. stayed at the McAuley place and picked berries."

            Wed. Jul. 8: "In the morning we got up quite early and mother did some baking because it was Harolds Birthday and we went down to our new house at Argyle and had dinner and Harrys Folks came over and Marion & Helen were there for dinner and we went home early The boys took a load of moving"

            Thur. Jul. 9: "The boys brought down a load of wood The women folk went at cleaning the open chamber and they had a big bonfire and after they got it done they went down to Argyle and Marjory & Mary E & Oliver stayed home and watched the fire"

            Fri. Jul. 10: "In the morning the boys loaded up a load of wood and the women picked up and packed things for moving"

            Sat. Jul. 11: "On the morning we got up early and the boys loaded up a load of wood and took it to Argyle and In the afternoon we went out to Glens Falls and after we got home from Glens Falls we had supper and Jimmie, John C. Mary E. Hazel & Marjory went to the automobile club meeting and Harold & Earl came home with them and are going to stay until Monday. Jimmie took the truck and Marjory, Mary E John C Harry O & Florence went down to Marions & Picked Raspberries"

            Sun. Jul. 12: "We all went to church and took Harold & Earl with us and in the afternoon Marion & Edd & the children came up and Edd & the boys took a ride and at night Hazel, Marjory, James, John C & Mary E. went to Prayer meeting"

            Mon. Jul. 13: "In the morning we got up early and the boys loaded a load of wood and the women washed and after breakfast Mother & the boys Harold & Earl went down. Marve Myers is papering some for us and Mother went down to see about it and the boys and they loaded up another load of wood and took it down before dinner and after dinner we took a load in the truck and one in the Nash and then we went home and got ready and took Harold & Earl over home and stayed till dark It is Earl & Mothers birthday."

            Tues. Jul. 14: "In the morning the boys got up early and loaded up a load of pine wood and I went down with them and we came back before dinner and about 3 o clock we took another load of moving and we all went down to Argyle and got some things put where they belong we are going to move so as to stay down tomorrow night."

            Wed. Jul. 15: " In the morning we loaded up a load of Beds & Bed clothes and other things and Father & Jimmie, John C. Oliver & Florence went down early and took Bob the cat and Jimmie & John C came back as soon as Marion came back from taking milk to stay with the rest  and get dinner and Edd & John Liddle each took a load and Jimmie and mother took a nother load. Hazel & Marjory took the Nash We got down alright and got settled enough to stay and Marion stayed until night and helped Hazel & Marjory went to Mr Decon"

            Thur. Jul. 16: "We didnt get up quite so early this morning and the women folks are trying to get things settled and are cleaning pantry and in the afternoon Mother, Jimmie, Marjory, John C Oliver & Florence went up to the place after a load of Lumber and other things and we had a hard thunder Shower and Mr Breen came along and stopped here while it rained. The folks came home in the rain a little before night."

            Fri. Jul. 17: "In the morning the women folk were busy getting things ready for living and mother went up to Mr Collins and picked out springs and Mattress & Curtains and Mr Collins came down and put them on and cut the shades to fit the parlor windows and put them up a night.  about 10 o clock the kids went to practice for Junior Chatuagua and we went to Glens Falls to see the Dr & get some things for the boys & girls. and at night we all went to Junior Chautaugua."

            Sat. Jul. 18: "In the morning we got up early and the women did a lot of work getting settled and baking and in the afternoon we went to Chautaugua and before we had dinner John Henry & Eva & Orrie came out and Orrie stayed here and is going to stay until tomorrow at night Marion left the children here at night and Mother & Mary E and Orrie stayed with them Helen stayed all night and after it was over George Carswell came down and fixed the Insurance on the place and furniture"

            Sun. Jul. 19: "We went over to Hebron to church it was Sacrament except myself & Marjory and we stayed home with Orrie and Mary W came home with them and is going to stay a while. A little before night John Henry & Eva came back and stayed a while and took Orrie home and at night we went to Chautaugua tent to a union service and heard a sermon by Dewitt McEachron he was good."

            Mon. Jul. 20: "In the morning the women got up early and did a big washing and it is a nice day. About Nine O clock Jennie Durkee came out here and is going to stay a few days. In the afternoon we went to Chataugua and Mary & Jennie stayed at home Mary E is not feeling very good but she went to Chataugua and at night we all went and Marion & Edd & Helen & Mary McE came up and went too. It was Florence's Birthday"

            Tues. Jul. 21: "In the forenoon the women were very busy Ironing and churning for the first time and in the afternoon we went to Chautaugua and  Mary & Jen D stayed here while we were gone and after we came home we all went out to Fort Edward to get some things for the boys and took Jennie to Hudson Falls Mary went with us and after we came home we had supper and went to Chautaugua again. It is the last day."

            Wed. Jul. 22: "In the morning we got up early and we had a lot of baking to do for the girls to take to Lake George to Silver Bay to the National Christian Endeavor Convention. Hazel took the car up to the garage to have some work done on it . John Liddles folks came down in the afternoon and Harry came too. The boys drove up and got King shod and then went up home and brought Bob (the cat) down with them. Harry took Mother & I up to Rob Smiths. He died this morning."

            Thur. Jul. 23: "In the morning we got up early and we got the girls things ready and they started for Silver Bay about 8 o clock they had to go to North Argyle to meet the rest of the folks that was going and Mother baked for the boys to take to Silver Bay tomorrow. Mrs Ella Pollock called in the afternoon and Mr & Mrs Joseph Smith called after supper In the morning Jimmie took the car and went up to Somans after the hood to the car he had varnished."

            Fri. Jul. 24: "In the morning we got up early and Jimmie & John C got ready and Ralph Reid and the other boys came down about 7 o clock and they loaded their things into our truck and started for Sliver Bay about 7:30 oclock and Oliver went to Fort Edward with Ed and came back with Marion and Helen stayed here and Marion came up and took Mother & I up to Rob Smiths Funeral in the afternoon."

            Sat. Jul. 25: "In the morning we got early for we heard King and thought he was out but instead the cow was out in the oatfield. Mother & Mary E & Mary were busy doing the work and about one o clock Marion came up and took Mother, Florence & I out to Glens Falls.  Edds mother & Helen went too. We stopped at Fort Edward as it was Dollar Day and mother got back about 6 oclock & Herbert Ellis came down after the rest of the pay for the cow. Mary McE & Mary stayed here & kept Edward"

            Sun. Jul. 26: "Marion came along and left Helen and when she came back from Fort Edward she took Helen & Mary W down with her and they are going to take her Grandmother home to West Hebron It is not a very nice day rained quite a lot"

            Mon. Jul. 27: "Mother got up early and went to baking for Mary E to go to Silver Bay she went with Edd & Marion & Mary McE and Marion brought Helen here when she went home from taking milk and she stayed here while they were gone. They started about Eleven O clock and Howard Stevenson went with them"

            Tues. Jul. 28: "Mother & Oliver have the chores to do and that keeps busy with the rest of the work. The horse & cow were out in the oats in the morning and mother had to go and help Oliver fix fence. We had a hard Shower at night or about 7 o clock."

            Wed. Jul. 29: "It is a nice pleasant day and mother and Oliver was busy and about 1 oclock or when we were eating dinner the boys came home in the truck there was a load of boys and about 4 o clock Hazel & Marjory came and about 6:30 Marion, Edd an Mary E came They all got home all right and are feeling fine. Had a fine time and Marion took Helen home with her she was awful glad to see them but was good while they were gone."

            Thur. Jul.  30: "In the morning we got up a little late but the women Folks washed and did Marions washing too and the boys fooled around and in the afternoon we all went up to the old place and got some vinegar. The boys & girls all came home feeling good."

            Fri. Jul. 31: "We were all at home in the morning and the women folks ironed & baked for the automobile club picnic tomorrow and in the afternoon we went out to Glens Falls to the Doctors and I had a treatment Mary E went down home with Marion when she came back from taking milk and stayed to help her wash and Jimmie & John C stayed home to watch the cow and horse It rained hard in the night."

            Sat. Aug. 1: "In the morning it looked very rainy and about 8 o clock it began to rain hard but we got ready to go to the automobile club picnic at Lake St Catharine and we went by Adamsville, Hartford & West Granville and found very bad roads but came home by Granville & Salem and found good roads It turned out to be a nice day and there was quite a crowd there."

            Sun. Aug. 2: "We went over to our own church in Hebron and afternoon or dinner we walked down in the back fields and looked over our land. and when we got back Harrys folks and Bess Smith were here. Hazel & Marjory went to Prayer meeting here for the first time."

            Mon. Aug. 3: "In the morning the women folks washed and Edd brought Marions washing up and they done it too. and in the afternoon Margaret Bain came up a little while and went down to Mr Johnsons to visit with him and at night Howland came up to mow our clover field but it got dark and he didn't finish it."

            Tues. Aug. 4: "In the morning Howland came up and finished mowing and the women ironed and the boys chored around and fooled and at night we all went down to Marions a little while In the morning the boys took King & the Cow down to Mr Johnsons and turned them in his field to pasture for a while"

            Wed. Aug. 5: "In the morning the folks were busy baking & churning and Hazel painted the front stairs and Dr Mulcahy came here and gave me a treatment because he was going to take a trip up in the mountains and would be gone the last of the week. and he and the fellow that brought him was here for dinner and Howland came up and raked up the hay and the boys & Mary E drew it all in got it in in fine shape without getting wet. Harry & Nettie were here a few minutes"

            Thur. Aug. 6: "In the forenoon the folks were all busy and after noon it looked like a shower and Hazel & Florence went down and got Marion & the children and Mary McE and they stayed for supper and we took them home at night. Jimmie & Johnnie went down and done chores for Howland at night"

            Fri. Aug. 7: "In the forenoon Mother & Hazel went up and picked out some congoleum for the hall and mother was baking bread and making pies and after dinner the boys took the truck and went down and helped Howland get in hay and at night Sam McMorris came up and had the little boy with him and Harry came over and stopped a while and was going over to Salem. Mr Colllins came down and laid the Congoleum in the hall after dinner."

            Sat. Aug. 8: "In the morning the folks baked & churned and Harry came over and wanted me to go over to Salem with and I went and got back about 11 o clock and we had dinner and got ready and went to Comstocks to see a Ball game. It was a nice day"

            Sun. Aug. 9: "In the forenoon we went to church at the U. P. Church at Argyle and in the afternoon Lawrence McWhorter came down a while and Orrie & Eva & John Henry came along and stopped a few minutes. At night the young folks went up here to Prayer Meeting."

            Mon. Aug. 10: "In the morning the women folks washed and did Marions washing too and at night Marion & the children & Edd came up and Edd went away with Ralph Weir and Marion and the children stayed here all night. and she done her Ironing here and Edd and Marion went up town and Marion & Father & the girls went up to the cemetery she had some nice sweet peas to take."

            Tues. Aug. 11: "In the morning the folks and Marion Ironed and baked and Hazel was about sick. Mr Johnson came up a while and at night Mother, Marion & I went down to Mr Johnsons to see Mrs Johnson and she is quite bad they couldn't wake her while we were there."

            Wed. Aug. 12: "In the morning the boys drove or led the cow down to Will Stevensons and John C brought her back and Jimmie stayed and helped Will get in oats and in the morning after John C got back Howland was here with a load of Hay and they & Oliver unloaded it in the barn In the afternoon the boys all went down and helped Howland and Mary W came over and stayed in the forenoon and we all went to a convention at the church in the afternoon. Marion and the children came up and brought Edd's mother & Mary."

            Thur. Aug. 13: "In the forenoon we all chored around and it rained and Jimmie, Hazel, Florence & Mother & I went out to Glens Falls to the Dr and I had a treatment and we got home before night and it was a rainy afternoon"

            Fri. Aug. 14: "In the morning we got up early and Hazel & Mother baked and got things ready for a Senior Picnic at the Oaks and Hazel went about 11 oclock and mother and the other folks were busy getting work done for the McIntyre Picnic tomorrow and after dinner Harrys folk came over and stayed a while and at night after supper Rev Wallace & wife & boy came down and called and Hazel got home about 10 oclock."

            Sat. Aug. 15: "In the morning we got up early and got ready and went to Hedges Lake to the McIntyre Picnic. There was quite a lot there and it was a hot day. we got home about 6 oclock We went by the way of West Hebron to take Mary W with us but she came home another way. We stopped to see Harry Barkley. He is in bed all the time but looks about as he did the last time I saw him only a little Pale."

            Sun. Aug. 16: "In the morning we got up and got ready and went over to church at Hebron and came back by the home place and stopped and talked awhile and came on home it was a little late when we got Dinner afternoon while we were eating Dinner Ed Marion and the children came up and stayed for supper and Edd and the boys went for a ride up to John Shannons."

            Mon. Aug. 17: "We got up early and the women washed and Marion sent her washing up and they done it and Ed took the clothes home when he came back from taking milk and in the afternoon Hazel took John C down to Yarters to help get in oats (Jimmie went down there in the forenoon.) and then Hazel took Oliver down to Garrys to help draw in oats."

            Tues. Aug. 18: "In the morning Marjory took Jimmie & John C down to Yarters with the horse and when Ed came back from Fort Edward Oliver went down with him to help get in oats and Hazel went with him down to Florence McMorris to stay all night and at night Elbert Rogers and Guy  & Maud Guthrie came over and Elbert put in a Radio to try and Morris & Floss came up awhile and Ed brought Oliver home and Yarters brought the boys."

            Wed. Aug. 19: "In the morning Oliver went down to Garrys again to work Jimmie took him down and Jimmie & John C stopped at Yarters and helped them until about 3 oclock and after they got home a shower was coming up so we hurried up an went down to Marion's to get Oliver after we got home we had a very hard shower the lightening struck a tree out in the field in front of the house"

            Thur. Aug. 20: "In the morning we got up early and Mother Jimmie, John C, Harry Oliver & Florence went up to Gages and got the hand sleighs and Bob & cutter & Ruby's Carriage and got home about noon and in the afternoon Howland brought up a mowing machine to cut the oats but they used the Reaper and got them all cut and Jimmie & John C went down and helped do the milking at Yarters."

            Fri. Aug. 21: "We didn't get up very early and then we went to Glens Falls and Marion telephoned up that Helen had fallen and knocked out one of her teeth and knocked the other front one sideways so she came up and went out to see a Dentist and he pulled it out. Jimmie took king and went down to Edds to get Buster and the Harness & Hayrack and him an John C & Oliver helped Ed get a load of slabs and at night Jimmie brought Buster & King home   Marjory went home with Marion"

            Sat. Aug. 22: "In the morning we got up early and the women folk got their baking & cleaning and afternoon the boys took the team and got a load of oats and then took the truck and went and got Yarters rack and got a load out and Marion & Edd came up and helped with that load on the truck and at night Mr Kelleher's folks came and stopped a while and Ed & Jimmie went to the pictures and Marion & Helen stayed here. Marjory came home with Marion & Edd & the children"

            Sun. Aug. 23: "We didn't get up very early and went to church up here at the U P church and stayed for Sabbath School we went in the car and in the afternoon we went for a ride we went over Rock Hill and came out below East Greenwich The next turn below Sand Street and came back by Cossayuna and went to Marions a few minutes and then went up to Rob Bains to see about threshing the next day. The Young folks went to Prayer meeting at night"

            Mon. Aug. 24: "In the morning we got up early to get ready for threshing and they came here about nine oclock Will Stevenson & Howard, Howland Y. Leonard Ellis & Albert Miller helped and they got through about Eleven oclock and went down to Will Stevensons and took the team and Jimmie & John C helped there until Four oclock and then they went up to Crosby Hopkins to help with the team afternoon Marion came up and the women folk did the washing and Marions

            Tues. Aug. 25: "In the morning Jimmie went up and helped Albert Miller thresh at Crosby Hopkins and came home for Dinner and went back and helped finish and then he went to John Cronins and helped till night and the women cleaned and baked for the Fair and in the afternoon We went over to West Hebron and got Mary W to go to the Fair. When I got up in the morning I couldnt hardly walk and couldnt talk very good"

            Wed. Aug. 26: "In the morning we got up early and we went to the Fair we went in the morning about half past nine and stayed for the fireworks at night got home about 10 oclock We didnt milk the cow at night. The fireworks were very good, Mary W went with us  I can get my foot around a little better but can't talk much better and I choke very easy but feel good."

            Thur. Aug. 27: "We got up early and Mother had to bake some and put up Dinners and we went to the Fair and stayed for the fireworks again they were better tonight than last, we thought."

            Fri. Aug. 28: "We didn't get up very early and didnt go to the Fair Marion brought the children up and they staye
