This is written in a small 3½" X 6 " book -- not a regular diary as most years are. The dates are written in by the writer, not preprinted. There are two of these books that comprise this year's diary.)

(Marjory's handwriting) "Diary 1929

January 1. Tuesday We got ready for company in the morning. We made ice Cream. It began snowing in the morning and snowed about all day and toward night it changed to rain. Ed's folks and Harry's folks were here for dinner and supper. They left about seven o'clock. The boys took the Nash and went to Argyle to the show.

January 2. Wednesday Oliver and Florence started in school today. We did the house work. Jimmie went to John Liddle's to help him. Miss Keyworth came to stay the rest of the week.

Jan 3. Thurs. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jimmie helped John Liddle. Johnnie chored around all day. We did house work."

Jan 4. Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jimmie went to John Liddle's to work. Johnnie did the chores in the forenoon. In the afternoon the rest of us went to Argyle. Johnnie went to Hudson Falls with Marion and got the license for the Nash. Marjory went too. We brought Eddy and Ruth home with us. Busy went down with Marion and they were going out to the show at the Falls. Helen & Dot stayed at Lill's. Good day."

Jan 5. Sat. Jimmie did not work at John Liddle's today. The boys rode down hill. Eddy & Ruth went out doors quite a bit in the forenoon. In the afternoon toward Marion & the rest of the kids brought Busy home and took the other ones home with her. They stayed here for supper. Marjory rode to Argyle with her. Marjory, John, James went to Glens Falls to a Show. The rest of us went to the show at Argyle and stayed at Mother's until the boys got home. It was a good day but cold.

Jan 6. Sun. We did not go to church. It rained about church time and was kind of icy. It was not a very good day. We did not go to C. E. at night. Busy got infection in finger and we doctored it all day.

Jan 7. Mon. Oliver and Florence went to school. We did washing. It was cold and windy. Johnnie helped hang up clothes. Jimmie went to John Liddle's. Miss Keyworth came after school to stay the rest of the week. It was a good drying day.

Jan. 8. Tues. Oliver and Florence went to school. The girls did ironing. Johnnie took the school kids. In the afternoon we went to Marion's because Ruth & Dorothy were sick. Johnnie brought Ed's car up to Yarter's for Ralph to run back. It was a good day.

Jan. 9. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. We did up house work. At night we all went to Argyle to prayer meeting because it was week of prayer.

Jan. 10. Thurs. Oliver and Florence went to school. The boys took out a grist to get it ground at Fort Edward. They got back about noon. They did chores in afternoon. It snowed last night and it is thawing today. We caught water because our cistern is getting low. It was a good day. In after the boys went to lower place to cut wood. After school they went to Argyle after the school boys.

Jan. 11. Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. About eleven o'clock Oliver came home because the teacher sent him home after his report card. In afternoon Jimmie went to Fred McAuley's to help saw wood. The other boys cut the old burrdocks and corn. At night we all went to Argyle to prayer meeting. Then John, James, Mary went to Grange and we stayed to Mother's. When we came home it was snowing hard.

Jan. 12. Sat. The boys cut a big maple down along the road. We did up the house work. At night Johnnie and Jimmie went away. It was a good day but quite cold.

Jan. 13. Sun. We all went to church but they didn't have much because Mr. Simpson was sick. We had Sunday School. On our way home it snowed some. Toward nite it cleared up and was awful cold. We went to C. E. at nite. Oliver and I went to Mother's.

Jan. 14. Mon. 6º below zero at night 7º below Florence did not have any because teachers conference. The boys chored around. In the afternoon they cut up the rest of the maple wood. We did not wash. It was a good day but cold.

Jan. 15. Tues. zero Oliver and Florence went to school. The boys took Oliver to school. They did chores about noon. We did up the house work. After school Jimmie went down after Oliver and Hugh. It stormed some in the forenoon.

Jan. 16. Wed. 4º above Florence went to school but Oliver did not because it was cold. The boys cut up some wood in the afternoon. We did up the house work. At night Laurence came up and he & Marjory went down to the church to a W.C.T.U. Banquet. It was a good day but kind of cold.

Jan. 17. Thurs. 16º above Oliver and Florence went to school. Jimmie took the school kids to school. In the afternoon Jimmie took the team down and got them shod. They got home about dark. In the forenoon Clifton Day and family came down to telephone about Jim Weir's funeral. We did up the house work. It snowed in A.M. and rained & sleeted in P. M.

Jan. 18. 40º above Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. Johnnie took Oliver down. The boys chored around. Marjory washed out a few clothes by hand. In the P. M. Jimmie went and helped John Liddle saw wood for Mr. Craig. It was a pretty good day except a little rain in A.M. Mary Emma came up with Florence. At night the young folks went to a social at church. North Argyle came down.

Jan. 19. Sat. We did up the house work. The boys chored around. Jimmie went and helped finish saw wood for Mr. Craig. It was a good day but kind of cold. At night the boys went to Argyle to the show. In P.M. Jimmie took the team down and brought up the engine from Craig's.

Jan. 20. Sun. We did up house work. The boys did up the chores. Then we got ready and went up to Hazel's. When we got there they were getting ready to come down. Busy stayed up. It snowed and the wind blew. The young folks did not go to Christian Endeavor.

Jan. 21. Mon. Florence went to school. Oliver did not go because this week is exams. We did a big washing. Jim went to Crosier's. John & Oliver took the team and went to the lower place to cut wood. It was a good day but kind of cold. We ironed some clothes this P.M. Miss Keyworth came after school.

Jan. 22. Tues. Florence went to school. The boys went down and finished cutting up that tree at lower place and drew it up. Jim went to Crosier's. We did the ironing in A.M. It was a good except kind of cold. In P.M. the boys cut some apple trees in old orchard.

Jan. 23. Wed. Florence went to school. Jim went to Crosier's. The boys just chored around because the day before Johnnie sprained his wrist. We did up the house work. The wind blew and blowed the snow some and made a few drifts. It was quite cold.

Jan. 24. Thurs. Florence's examinations began today. Oliver had to go for tests. Jim went to Crosier's. Johnny chored around all day. We did up the house work. It was a good day. Oliver rode with Foster's.

Jan. 25. Fri. Florence went to school The boys did the chores and did not do much of anything else because it snowed. In P.M. Hazel, George, Minnie came down and brought Busy. Laurence was up in the P.M. At night Johnnie and Jim went to Argyle to the dance & Marjory went out to the show. It snowed about all day.

Jan. 26. Sat. The boys drew up wood in A.M. We did up the house work. At noon Jimmie took the car and took Ralph McGeoch around on the mail route because his car broke. He got back about 4 o'clock and then they sawed wood until dark. Kelleher came along awhile. At night the boys went to the show. It was a good day.

Jan. 27. Sun. We all went to church. Mother came home with us from church. Marjory stayed down until nite. At night the young folks went to C. E. and Mother rode down with them. It was a good day.

Jan. 28. Mon. Oliver went to school. Florence did not go because she had a bad cold. We did washing. Jim went to Crosier's. In P.M. we went down to Argyle. Marjory went and went down to stay to Marion's to stay a few days. We took bed clothes and Oliver stayed down to Mother's. It was a good day.

Jan. 29. Tues. Florence did not go to school because she had a bad cold. We did ironing and house work. Jim went to Crosier's. Johnnie chored around. It was a good day but quite cold. The boys took the horses over in the cow barn at night. It snowed some.

Jan. 30. Wed. Florence went to school. Jim went to Crosier's. In forenoon Marion & kids came up and brought Marjory and stayed for dinner. They went home about 4:30. Johnnie chored around and fooled with kids. It was a good day.

Jan. 31. Thurs. Florence went to school. Jimmie was over at Crosier's working. Johnnie chored around. We did up the house work. It was a good day.

Feb. 1. Fri. Florence went to school. Jim rode King down to see about cutting ice. He had cold and didn't went to help. In P.M. Jim took Ned to Argyle and got him shod and some irons made. The rest of us went to Argyle after Oliver and we had a few other errands. At night the boys went away. Jim saw Laurence and he said he would help cut ice on Mud Lake. It was a good day except kind of cold.

Feb. 2. Sat. We did up house work. Johnnie drove to Salem for Sam Craig in A.M. Jim and Oliver took the team and went over to the Lake and cleaned off the ice. When Johnnie got back and chores done he went over. Toward Jim went to Harve Randle's and got an ice saw. At night Johnnie took the Nash and went away. Marjory went to show at Argyle. It was a good day.

Feb. 3. Sun. We all went to church. Johnnie had to fix tire before church time. It was communion. In P.M. Marion and Ed and kids came up. They stayed until after dark. In afternoon we all except Eddy, Ruth, Dorothy and I went over to Mud lake and skated a while . At night Jim, John, Mary, Marjory went to C. E. Jim went down to Millers with milk check. It was a good day.

Feb. 4. Mon. Oliver went down to stay to Mother's. Florence went to school. We washed out a few things by hand. In forenoon Laurence came up and the boys over on the ice and cleaned it off and marked and plowed some. It was a good day but cold.

Feb. 5. Tues. Oliver & Florence went to school. Laurence came up and they cut ice on mud Lake. The boys did chores at noon. It was a good day. We did the house work.

Feb. 6. Wed. Oliver & Florence went to school. Laurence came up and they went over & cut ice all day. In A.M. we made some ice cream. Johnnie and Jim did chores. Oliver went down to Marion's and stayed all nite.

Feb. 7. Thurs. Florence went to school. It rained & snowed so the boys could not work on the ice. They chored around. At night after supper the boys went to Argyle after Oliver because they did not have school the next day. The boys drove over to the lake in P.M.

Feb. 8. Fri. Florence went to school. Oliver did not have school today. The boys finished cutting the ice today. In afternoon Marion & Ed brought up the kids. It was a good day.

Feb. 9. Sat. We did up the house work. It snowed and the boys chored around. In P.M. Johnnie went to Glens Falls to play basket ball. They got beat. It snowed nearly all day.

Feb. 10. Sun. We did not go to church because Marion's kids were here. We made ice cream. In P.M. Marion & Ed came up after the kids and stayed until nite. When they went home Marjory rode down and went to C. E. It was a good day but kind of cold.

Feb. 11. Mon. Oliver & Hugh drove. Florence went to school. Jim went to Crosier's. We did the washing. Johnnie did the chores. In P.M. we went to Clayton Kinney's funeral. We got down most of our clothes. At night Jim went to Hartford with John Liddle. Marjory went out to the show. It was a good day but kind of cold.

Feb. 12. Tues. Oliver & Hugh drove. Florence went to school. Jim went to Crosier's. Johnnie did up the chores. We did the house work and the ironing. Johnnie took out a grist and got back about two o'clock. It was a good day but kind of cold.

Feb. 13. Wed. Oliver & Hugh drove. Florence went to school. Jim went to Crosier's. We did up the house work. Johnnie did the chores and drew some sawdust and put on the ice. It was a good day but kind of cold."

Feb. 14. Thurs. Oliver & Hugh drove. Florence went to school. We did up the house work. Jim went to Crosier's. Johnnie did up the chores. It was a good day but cold. Johnnie went to lower place to see about sawdust but it was all froze.

Feb. 15. Fri. Oliver & Hugh drove and Florence went to school. We did up house work. Johnnie did chores. Jim went to Crosier's. At night we all went to Argyle. The young folks went to C. E. social and I stayed at Mother's. I went to George McEachron's for a while in the evening. It was a good day but kind of cold

Feb. 16. Sat. Jim went to Will Crosier's and he finished up today. Johnnie & Oliver drew sawdust and packed the ice. At night Jimmie took me down to Cuthbert's and the rest stayed here and rode down hill. We did up the work in A.M. It was a good day but kind of cold. At nite Jen came to Mother's.

Feb. 17. Sun. We did not go to church. Before church time Hazel, George, Minnie came down. They stayed for dinner and went home about 2:00 o'clock. The girls & boys went out and rode down hill in P.M. At nite we went to Argyle the rest went to C. E. except me. I stayed to Mother's because Jen was there. When we got there Marion and the kids were there. It was a good except kind of cold.

Feb. 18. Mon. Florence went to school. Jim took Oliver down to stay at Mother's this week. He went and paid the taxes. He got the battery to his car. In afternoon he started it and got it running. The boys & Mary finished sawing the wood that was out to the end of the house. In A.M. we washed out a few clothes that we had to have. It was a good day and warm.

Feb. 19. Tues. Florence went to school. In the forenoon Johnnie & Jim sorted some potatoes. In P.M. Jim took his car and took them out to the Fort. It has snowed all day. Jim had quite a time getting home but he did after while.

Feb. 20. Wed. Florence went to school. We did up house work. The boys did chores. They cut wood and drew up some. It was a good day.

Feb. 21. Thurs. Florence went to school. We did up the house work. It snowed hard all day. The boys did chores. John Weir came down and looked at Queen's leg. In P.M. the boys went down after Oliver. Marjory went down with them and came back in the nite.

Feb. 22. Fri. Florence & Oliver did not have school. The boys cut wood. We did up house work. At night the boys & Busy went to Grange then to dance. Busy went home with Marion. Marion brought the kids up and they stayed all nite. It was a good day.

Feb. 23. Sat. We did up house work. The boys cut wood. Marion & Busy came up for dinner. When Marion & kids went home Florence with her. After supper Hazel & George came and Mary went home with them. It was a good day.

Feb. 24. Sun. We did not go to church. The boys did chores. At night we started to Christian Endeavor but Jim's car wouldn't go. The gas was froze in carborator. We got to Argyle by the time C. E. was out. Florence had come up with Marion & was to Mother's.

Feb. 25. Mon. Florence went to school. We did the washing. The boys cut wood down to the lower place and drew up a load. They did not go back in P.M. It was a good day. We got most of the clothes dry. At night the boys sorted potatoes.

Feb. 26. Tues. Florence went to school. We did house work. Jim took out a load of potatoes. I went to Hudson Falls with him. It rained & snowed all day. Marjory did ironing in P.M. Kit Yarter & Ralph came up to look at Queen's leg and told them how to doctor it.

Feb. 27. Wed. Florence went to school. We did up house work. The boys went to lower place in forenoon and brought up a load of wood. They did chores in P.M. At night they went to Argyle to a play and listen to fight. We did listen to it.

Feb. 28. Thurs. Florence went to school. We did up house work. The boys went to lower place and cut wood. They brought up a couple loads of wood. They did chores. It was a good day.

Mar. 1. Fri. Florence went to school. The boys went to lower place to cut wood and drew up a couple of loads of wood. We did up house work. Oliver came home with John McKernon's. At night Marion & Ed brought up kids. The rest went to Argyle to a Masonic dance & card party in Argyle Hall. It was a good day.

Mar. 2. Sat. The boys took the team and went to lower place and cut down a big maple tree. Before noon it snowed and they got quite wet. They didn't come up until quite late for dinner. Marion came up in A.M. and stayed for dinner. She & kids went home about three o'clock. It snowed all rest of day and past nite.

Mar. 3. Sun. We all went to church. Hazel, George, Minnie and Mary were there. Mary came home with us. The rest went back home and didn't come up. In P.M. George Carswell & Jim Todd came up they were canvassing for church. The boys did chores early at nite. Then we went to Argyle. I stayed at Mother's and the rest went to Miller's with milk check. Then went to C. E. all but Oliver. It was a good day. It was pretty in A.M. snow all stuck to trees.

Mar. 4. Mon. Florence went to school We did up house work. We mended and listened on the radio to President Hoover's Inuraguation. The boys went to the lower place. Jim took Oliver down to Argyle in morning. Johnnie took team down and brought back load of wood. In P.M. Jim took his car down. It was a pretty good day.

Mar. 5. Tues. Florence went to school. We did up house work in A.M. In P.M. we went up stairs & straightened up the open chamber. The boys went to lower place and loaded on a load of wood & Johnnie took it down to Mother. Jim came back with his car. It rained most of afternoon. In P.M. Jim went to Gilchrist's to help saw wood. Toward nite it began to snow. The boys went to Argyle to the show at nite. John got back about middle of P.M. He was quite wet.

Mar. 6. Wed. Florence went to school. In A.M. Jim & Johnnie put up grist and Jim took it out. He got back about 2 o'clock. Johnnie took the team and went up to Clare's to draw wood for the school house. When Jim got home he went and helped him. We got things straightened up in the parlor in P.M. & washed a few things in A.M. It was a good day but awful sloppy.

Mar. 7. Thurs. Florence went to school. In forenoon Johnnie & Jim drew down a couple loads of wood to the school house from Clare's. In P.M. one Jim was going out after feed but they had to draw out Loren McNeil's truck out of ditch so he brought feed home for us from Fort. It is a good day but cold & windy. They did chores at noon. We did up house work. It snowed during nite & helped the sleighing.

Mar. 8. Fri. Florence went to school. The boys drew up wood from Clare's. Jim drew a load in P.M. In A.M. Laurence came up and stayed all day. Teacher stayed and we all & her went to Argyle to Senior play. Oliver stayed down. It was a good day but quite windy.

Mar. 9. Sat. We did up the house work. The boys went down to cut wood. Jim came up and got team and took some wood down to Mother's. In P.M. Ed brought Marion & kids up an left them. Johnnie & Oliver rode up with them. They stayed all nite. When Jim got back he brought a chair from Mother's.

Mar. 10. Sun. We didn't go to church. It was cold & windy. Marion & kids were here. Ed came up about noon. They went home about four o'clock. It was a good day.

Mar. 11. Mon. Florence went to school Teacher came to stay this week. In morning Johnnie went down and drew up the wood along the road. Jim & I took Oliver to school. We went to see if I could borrow some money from Will Reid but didn't get any. We went to Fort Edward to see Harry S. The boys did chores. At nite they went up to Joe Reid's to borrow money but didn't get it. It was a good day.

Mar. 12. Tues. Florence went to school. The boys went to lower place to cut wood. We did up the house work. It was a good day.

Mar. 13. Wed. Florence went to school. We did up the house work. The boys went down to lower place and cut wood. They drove the Nash. In P.M. they took the turkey down to John Liddle's. It was a good day. At night the boys went to Ed Randle's to borrow money but they didn't get it. They stopped at Joe Randles to get it he thought maybe. They went down to Argyle.

Mar. 14. Thurs. Florence went to school. The boys cut wood today. We did up the house work. At nite Johnnie, Jimmie, Florence, Marjory & Miss Keyworth went to Argyle to barber shop. The roads are quite bad. It rained some. We fixed sitting couch.

Mar. 15. Fri. Florence went to school. We did up house work. The boys drew down some wood. Oliver stayed down and came home with us at nite. We all went down to the church to a C. E. Rally. We drove Jim's car. The roads are quite bad and the car wasn't working very good. It was a good day. We had a thunder shower in the nite. stopped to J Randles and borrowed some money.

Mar. 16. Sat. We did up the house work. It rained in A.M. Jim took his car apart. In P.M. they cut up wood. It was quite cold toward nite.

Mar. 17. Sun. We did not go to church. It was a good day but the roads are awful bad. We did not go to Christian Endeavor at nite.

Mar. 18. Mon. Florence went to school. Jim took Oliver and the rest of school kids down. We did washing. Jim went to Miller's with milk check. Johnnie & Mary taped some of the trees in P.M. Marjory did ironing. Teacher came to stay this week. It was a good day. Jim got a load of wood.

Mar. 19. Tues. Florence went to school. We did up the house work. The boys finished tapping the trees today. The boys drew up load of wood in afternoon. It was a good day.

Mar. 20. Wed. Florence went to school. We did up house work. We boiled sap. In A.M. the boys cut wood. In P.M. they drew down some wood and brought up a load. This was first we boiled.

Mar. 21. Thurs. Florence went to school. We did up house work. The boys drew down wood. and brought up a load. We canned syrup today. At night we sugared off. At night Oliver & Laurence came up and stayed all nite and went back next morning. It was a good day. The roads are quite muddy.

Mar. 22. Fri. Florence went to school. The boys drew up wood. They did chores at noon. We boiled sap all day. Laurence & Oliver started from here about eight o'clock. They got stuck. Oliver came home with John McKernon. At night Johnnie, Jimmie, Mary went to Grange meeting. Marjory went to Argyle. Jim's car didn't work very well. It rained hard during nite.

Mar. 23. Sat. We boiled down sap all day. We did up the house work. The boys took the Nash apart and and ground the valves. It was awful muddy and rained most of forenoon. It was cloudy all day. At night Howard Mahaffy came up to use telephone. canned syrup.

Mar. 24. Sun. We did not go to church. It was a pretty good day but the roads are bad. In P.M. the boys got out Nash but it didn't run very good so got out Jim's and we all except Johnnie & I went to lower place to dump out sap dishes. At night Laurence came up with horse. In P.M. we sugared off.

Mar. 25. Mon. Florence did not go to school because teacher's conference. We did washing. In A.M. Johnnie went down after a load of wood. Florence went too. In P.M. Jim went down after a load of wood. The sap ran pretty good. We got all the clothes in off from the porch. In P.M. we had a hard thunder shower and it rained hard. We had a thunder shower in morning but did not rain. Oliver rode to Argyle with C. Foster. He's going to stay to Mother's. canned syrup.

Mar. 26. Tues. Florence went to school. We boiled sap all day. Jim went down and brought up a load of wood. In P.M. they went down and drew two loads of wood out of the woods and brought up one load. It was a good day. We did up the house work. Teacher came to stay.

Mar. 27. Wed. Florence went to school. We boiled sap and the boys drew manure. We did up house work. Mary worked some down in the garden. I shortened her summer coat. It was a good day. The boys went to lower place and got sap and we boiled it down. In forenoon Johnnie took team and Jim his took his car and finished drawing up the wood. Jim got stuck. They drew up some that was laying around different places. canned syrup.

Mar. 28. Thurs. Florence went school. We did up the house work. Jim & Johnnie fixed the Durant and some tires. In A.M. we canned some syrup. In P.M. we sugared off. It rained hard most of forenoon but was pretty good toward nite.

Mar. 29. Fri. Florence went to school. The boys drew out manure. Oliver came home with John McKernon's. The boys worked until late. It was a good day except kind of cool. We did up the house work and mended.

Mar. 30. Sat. Jim took the team and went and got the engine. John Liddle came and they sawed wood. We boiled down sap all day. We did up the house work. They didn't get through sawing. The boys went to Argyle at night. It rained some during the day.

Mar. 31. Sun. We did not get to church. We expected Hazel & George down in P.M. but they did not come. The boys got out the Nash and we all got in and rode to the lower place. The boys did chores. Then they went to lower place after sap. When they got back we all went down to C. E. and a Special Easter Service at M.E. church. It was a good warm day but got cool at nite. sugared off.

Apr. 1. Mon. Teacher came to stay this week. Florence went to school. Oliver does not have any school this week. John Liddle came up and finished sawing wood in forenoon. In P.M. the boys drew out some manure. We boiled sap all day today. About 4:30 we had an awful hard rain. Florence & teacher were out in it. It looked rainy about all day. Canned some syrup.

Apr. 2. Tues. Florence went to school. The boys fixed tire on Nash and did chores. Then we all went down to Marion's. Florence went with us. Jim brought the car back up to the Garage & Got it fixed. Then all the boys split Mother's wood. Then they came down to Marion's after us. It was a good day but cold. At night John Liddle came up a while and wanted someone to come down and watch the turkey.

Apr. 3. Wed. Florence went to school. The boys drew manure and split wood. In the morning Mary and Marjory took the Nash and went to John Liddle's and watched the turkey but did not find it. I did most of the washing before the girls got back. In P.M. Mary did ironing. It was a good day but kind of cool.

Apr. 4. Thurs. Florence went to school. Oliver doesn't have any school. The boys drew out manure and split wood. Mary and Marjory went to John Liddle's to watch the turkey and they found her nest. They got back about noon. I did up the house work and canned some maple syrup that we boiled down Monday. We boiled down sap about all day. It was a good day and not very cold. Sugared off.

Apr. 5. Fri. Florence went to school. The boys went down to John Liddle's and brought the turkey home. Jim went to Fort Edward with grist. The other boys split wood. In P.M. Mary rode King down to the school house. At night John Liddle's folks came along and stayed a while. It was a good day.

Apr. 6. Sat. The boys split wood in forenoon. In afternoon they split some and played ball. The boys went to Glens Falls to play ball. Marjory went down with them and went to show. It was a good day but not very cold.

Apr. 7. Sun. We did not go to church because the roads are pretty rough. It was good day and quite warm. In P.M. we went to lower place to see the lumber pile. At nite we went to C. E. Just before we got ready to come home it rained awful hard.

Apr. 8. Mon. Florence went to school. Oliver rode with C. Foster. We did washing. We got the clothes all dry and ironing done. Mary worked out doors in P.M. In A.M. the boys drew out manure. In P.M. they started plowing. It was a good day and awful warm. Toward nite Jim went down after Oliver with car.

Apr. 9. Tues. Florence went to school. Marjory & Mary took Oliver down to Moody's then he walked the rest of the way. Then we worked out doors all forenoon. The boys drew out manure in A.M. In P.M. Jim plowed. The rest of us went to Argyle and got radiator fixed. Mary went down to Marion's to stay. It was a good day and warm. Oliver walked all the way home.

Apr. 10. Wed. Florence went to school. Jim took Oliver to school. Then he got the water pump fixed at garage. Then he took out a grist. In A.M. Johnnie plowed up on the hill. In P.M. Johnnie & Jim went to Jimmie Adams' auction. Then they brought Oliver home with them. At night the boys went away. It was a good day.

Apr. 11. Thurs. Florence went to school. Oliver went to school. Florence, Marjory & I took him as far as Moody's then he walked the rest of the way. The boys split wood in A.M. In P.M they did chores and plowed some in field back of barn. Jim & Florence went to meet Oliver. At nite we went to Hazel's a while. It was a good day.

Apr. 12. Fri. snowed Florence went to school Johnnie & Jim took Oliver to school then they went to Hudson Falls to look at some cars. They got home about 12:30. The boys did chores. Laurence brought Oliver up after school. It began snowing in the morning and it snowed all day and nite.

Apr. 13. Sat. 6 in. snow We did up the house work. The boys did the chores and chored around. At nite we all went to Argyle and went to the show. Marion brought Mary & Helen up and they came home with us. Helen came so to go to church the next day. It snowed about 6 inches of snow.

Apr. 14. Sun. snowed We did not go to church because it was snowing quite hard. Helen was here. The boys did chores about noon. In afternoon we stirred down sugar. Then the boys did chores. It snowed about all day.

Apr. 15. Mon. Florence went to school. Oliver rode to school with C. Foster. We did a washing. It is not a very good drying day. The boys split wood most all day. Toward nite Johnnie, Marjory, Helen, Florence went to Argyle after Oliver and do a few errands. It was cloudy and kind of cold but did not storm any.

Apr. 16. Tues. 7 or 8 in. snow. Teacher came to stay the rest of the week. Florence went to school. Johnnie took Oliver to school with King. The boys sorted potatoes in A.M. In P.M. the boys went to meet Darfler to get the milk check and a letter from Salem bank. Then Jim and I went to Argyle. We took Helen down and left her at Hall's. She was going home. We took Oliver's things down and he stayed down to Mother's. The girls did ironing & churning. It snowed and rained all day. In morning there was 7 or 8 inches snow on ground.

Apr. 17. Wed. Florence & Teacher went to school. Jim took them down. Then Jim went to Glens Falls to a sale and to buy some new clothes. Johnnie is not feeling very well in A.M. Jim got home about 3:00 . Johnnie did chores. Jim went down to school house after Florence & teacher. It snowed and rained all day. Johnnie & Jimmie went away at night. Laurence & Oliver came up and stayed a while.

Apr. 18. Thurs. Florence went to school. The boys spilt wood. We done up the house work.

Apr. 19. Fri. Florence went to school The boys split wood. In forenoon & afternoon Jim helped Walt McGowan load some hay. They finished spliting the wood. John went to Fort with a grist and brought Oliver home. At night we went to Argyle to the South Argyle play. Then to a social to the church. It was a good day.

Apr. 20. Sat. We did up the house work. Jim helped Walt McGowan get a load of hay. In afternoon it rained and the boys chored around. The boys drew manure in forenoon. At night Jim took his car out and traded for a Chovrolet Coach. Johnnie went with him.

Apr. 21. Sun. We all went to church. When we got home Hazel & George, Minnie were here. They had been here before eleven o'clock. They stayed for dinner and a little while then went home. At nite Johnnie, Jimmie, Mary, Marjory took Jim's car and went to C. E. It rained some.

Apr. 22. Mon. Oliver & Florence went to school. We did not wash. The boys went to lower place and got a load of hay. We did up house work. Oliver went down to Marion's. It was not a very good day. Adah Stewart was at school for Observation.

Apr. 23. Tues. Florence went to school. We did washing & ironed in afternoon. Boys drew manure in orchard. In forenoon the man & woman that bought the Cuthbert place came to see about buying electric light plant. At night we all went to Argyle to Uncle Tom's Cabin. It was a good day. Adah Stewart taught the rest of the week.

Apr. 24. Wed. Florence went to school. Jim & I took him down to Shannon's Corners. We stopped to John Liddle's to see about turkey. The boys drew out manure We did some baking. Then we worked down in garden. In afternoon we loaded on the stones that were down by the wagon house. In afternoon Marion & kids came up. They got stuck on flat and Jim took the Nash down & drew her out. Jim plowed in buckwheat field. Johnnie spread manure. Marion, Marjory, kids went down after Oliver. They stayed for supper. Then Oliver went home with her. The boys went down to Liddle's & got turkey. Good day cleaned sap pan.

Apr. 25. Thurs. Florence went to school. The boys sorted potatoes in the forenoon. In afternoon Johnnie went to West Hebron to get King shod but did not. Jim went to Argyle after Oliver. It rained hard about all afternoon. Johnnie started down after Florence & he got in the mud down on the flat and couldn't get out. He came up & got team and took them down but Darfler drew him out. At nite the boys went away. Boys went around fences in cow pasture & down to lower place. Had bon fire in A.M.

Apr. 26. Fri. Florence went to school. Jim took Oliver to school. It was too wet to plow. They chored around. In afternoon Johnnie went to West Hebron & got King shod. Jim went to Hudson Falls to get his car fixed. He left it & brought another home. I went to Argyle with him and we brought Oliver home. At nite Johnnie, Jim & Mary went to Grange. Johnnie sorted apples when to got home.

Apr. 27. Sat. We did up house work. We cleaned out wagon house. Jim & Oliver went to lower place to cut posts. Johnnie plowed the buckwheat & Jim plowed in P.M. We sowed sweet peas & petunia's. We put in & piled the chunks in wagon house. At night Johnnie & Jim went to Argyle. The man from Hudson Falls was to bring out Jim's car to Argyle but did not bring it out. It was a good day.

Apr. 28. Sun. We went to church. We did not stay for Sunday School. In P.M. we all except Johnnie & Oliver started for Hazel's but we had a soft tire and turned around and came back. At nite we all went to Argyle & young folks went to C. E. It rained hard going down & all time down there and coming home.

Apr. 29. Mon. Florence & Oliver went to school. Laurence came up and he & the boys took the team and went to lower place to fix up fence. We did washing. In afternoon we went up stairs to find a bed to set up. A man came in morning to see if I would board him. He works over to mud Lake Place. Toward nite a fellow brought Jim's car out and took the other one back. It was a good day. Began driving to Argyle school today.

Apr. 30. Tues. Florence & Oliver went to school. We did the ironing. Laurence came and he & Jimmie finished fixing fence down to lower place. Johnnie finished plowing buckwheat field & started behind the barn. We got the boys room all fixed up because a man who is working over to mud Lake is coming here to board. He came. At night Jim went to Argyle to get gas. It was a good day but little cold.

May 1. Wed. Florence went to school. Jim took Oliver & rest of kids to school. The boys plowed out back of the barn in forenoon & afternoon they finished upper part. They did chores. In afternoon Mary, Marjory & I went to Argyle after school kids. Mary went to school. Mr. Barnes was here & stayed all nite. It was a good day but kind of windy.

May 2. Thurs. Florence & Oliver went to school. The boys plowed with King & Ned out behind barn. At noon they went to John Liddle's after his horse. They got it to use for a while. Then Jim went over to mud lake to get pay for boarding a man that was working. He's not coming back .In P.M. they work this horse & King and plowed behind barn. In P.M. it rained a little. At night Florence & Oliver & I went to Marion's to keep kids & the rest went to Auto-club meeting. A Fellow came from Hudson Falls to appraise the farm.

May 3. Fri. Oliver & Florence went to school It rained and the boys sorted potatoes. In afternoon Jimmie took out a load of potatoes & sold them at Fort Edward. Johnnie did chores. At night Marjory, Mary, Johnnie, Jimmie all went to Glens Falls to the show. Mary went home with Ed & Marion.

May 4. Sat. Oliver & Florence sorted potatoes in A.M. We did up house work in A.M. Jim plowed oat ground with King & John's Horse in A.M. At noon Johnnie took Queen & Ned up to plow but couldn't. In P.M. Jim plowed up there with King & John's Horse. Johnnie & Jim took other team and went to school house after a Vat. In P.M. Florence, Marjory & I went to church & Oliver went and got his hair cut. Then they went to the Fort after feed & got some oats ground. At night the boys went to Argyle to show. Good day & windy.

May 5. Sun. We went to church. Boys did chores. When we came home from church it was raining & after we got home we had a thunder shower. In P.M. Hazel & George & Minnie came down. At night we went to Argyle & young folks went to C. E. Jim was leader. Mary was at Argyle & came home with us.

May 6. Mon. Florence went to school. Jim took Oliver & rest kids down to school. Johnnie finished plowing oat ground then began plowing sod in front of house with King & John's horse in A.M. In P.M Johnnie plowed a while with 2 ned's then he went to Fort with a grist and bring home school kids. We got back about six o'clock. Jim plowed the rest of afternoon with King & our Ned. At night the boys went over to Scally's to get one of his horses but did not get it. We did washing. At night it rained. Good day & kind of windy. Cleaned washing machine Florence's school had Arbor Day.

May 7. Tues. Florence and Oliver went to school. We did ironing. The boys plowed the field in front of the house." (Busy's handwriting) "Marjory , Jimmy and Johnny went to Argyle. Johnny and Marjory went to Mildred Bristol's to make plans for a social. I started making a dress for Dorothy's Birthday.

May 8. Wed. Florence and Oliver went to school. Jimmy and Johnny draged upon the hill above the horse pasture. We worked down in the grove. At night Busy, Jimmy Johnny went to Argyle to practice for Grange Friday nite. Busy, Marjory, Jimmy put twenty-six bushel of oats through the fan Mill. And we mixed the grass Seed. I finished making Dorothy's dress.

May 9. Thurs. Florence Oliver went to school. Marjory took the kids to school at Argyle and Grandma Mother came home with her. Jimmy went up to Ralph Clair's and got his drill. And started drilling up on the field above the horse pasture. And draged some too. Marjory went down to Argyle after the school kids and took Mother down home. Busy and I worked down in the garden a while.

May 10. Fri. Florence and Oliver went to school. Jimmy and Johnny finished drilling and draging up in the field above the lane. Jimmy, Johnny, Busy went to Grange to nite. We worked down in the Grove.

May 11. Sat. Jimmy finished drilling oats up on the hill above the horse pasture and drilled the other field up above the land. He took the drill home in the P.M. Marion and all the children came up for dinner because it is Dorothy's Birthday. They stayed for supper and Johnny went to Argyle with them at nite. Laurence came up and Marjory and him went away. Johnny came home with them.

We got Mother and came home and got dinner then we all went to Hazel's. Mary stayed up. While coming home Mother see she had lost her key. But she got one up to McMurray's that unlocked her door. At nite we went to C. E. It was a pretty good day except rained some.

May 13. Mon. Florence & Oliver went to school. We did washing. Johnnie plowed until about noon. Jim went to Weirs and helped fix fence. At noon Johnnie took the two heifers down to the lower place. Jim went down after him. We took down most of clothes at noon. In P.M. Marjory & I went to Marion's to keep the kids while she went to Falls. We did not get home very early. It was a good day. Florence went up to Weir's.

May 14. Tues. Florence went to school. Johnnie took kids to school. In A.M. Jim plowed behind barn. Then they plowed up on hill. We did ironing and baking. In afternoon Jim went to Argyle after school kids. We did chores early. Laurence came up & Marjory went to Glens Falls to Nurses graduation. The rest of us went up to Hazel's to stay with Minnie and Mary while they went to Graduation. Oliver went down to Marion's. It rained hard all afternoon. Mary came home.

May 15. Wed. Florence & Oliver went to school. It was rainy so Jim went to Hudson Falls to get his car fixed but did not. In afternoon he went over around West Hebron trying to sell cars. Johnnie plowed in front house. At night Clayton Barkley came and called Frank McLenithan because he had a sick cow. At nite the young folks went to C.E. social. Ednas kids came up and stayed while John & Oliver went to Clare's after potatoes.

May 16. Thurs. Florence & Oliver went to school. Mary & I worked in the garden until it rained. Jim went to Liddle's and took the horse back and worked there the rest of the day. Johnnie finished plowing the field up in front of the house. In forenoon it rained hard and we had a thunder shower. In afternoon we went to Argyle & brought school kids home. The boys were going to play ball but boys didn't show up. We didn't get home until late.

May 17. Fri. Florence went to school. Took kids. The boys went to John Liddle's after plow and plowed down to other house. We worked down in the garden. We set posts & put up some poles to put the grape vines on. At nite Marjory went to Opera. The rest of us went to John Liddle's and took the plow home. It was a good day.

May 18. Sat. The boys rolled the oats. We did up the house. Jimmie & Oliver fixed fence and turned out calfs. Johnnie rolled big piece of oats & Jim rolled rest in P.M. Then he finished plowing the piece behind barn. We worked in garden all afternoon. We finished putting up fence & fastened up grape vine. It was a good day." (Busy's handwriting)

"May 19. Sun. We didn't get up very early. We stayed home all day. It rained most of the day. and was awful damp and cold.

May 20. Mon. Florence and Oliver went to school. We did the washing in A.M. In P.M. we ironed. The boys drawed Manure in A.M. Johnny plowed in the field above the orchard in the P.M. Jimmy took a grist. And went up to Hudson Falls to get their Operators License. Jimmy and I went to John McK's & John W's at nite. Jimmy and Johnny went to Will McG's looking for Potatoes.

May 21. Tues. Florence and Oliver went to school. Johnny plowed up above the orchard. Jimmy went to Clayton Barkleys and got some potatoes and took them to Fort Edward and Hudson Falls. We mended. Jimmy went to West Hebron looking for potatoes. He brought home a load from Foster Mac E.'s.

May 22. Wed. Florence and Oliver went to school. Marjory, Busy and I took the school kids. When we got home we put the plants in the plant boxes. Jimmy took potatoes to Fort Edward and Hudson Falls. Johnny went to Weir's to work today. Florence went up with Mary Emma after school. And they stayed for supper. In the P.M. we went down and got turkey eggs at the Irwin girls and went down to Marion's for a while and come up and got the school kids.

May 23. Thurs. Florence and Oliver went to school. Jimmy went to Weir's to work. Johnny plowed up in the field above the orchard. Towards nite he started dragging. Mary Emma Weir come home with Florence and she stayed here for supper. Jimmy stayed to Weir's for supper. At nite we took Mary Emma home and and went to John Liddle's. Marj. went to West Hebron at nite.

May 24. Fri. Johnny went to Weir's to work. Jimmy went to the field above the orchard to drag but it rained so he come to the house. He sorted potatoes. At noon Jimmy went to Weir's to get some seed potatoes. It rained in A.M. In P.M. we had a Thunder Shower. Marjory went to Saratoga to a C. E. convention. (Marjory's handwriting)

May 25. Sat. Johnnie went to Weir's to work. The other boys drew manure in orchard. In P.M. Jim took out a load of potatoes then went to Hudson Falls after his car. Marjory went out and brought home Nash. In afternoon Oliver dragged above orchard and field behind barn. In P.M. Marion's kids came up. We all went to Argyle at nite. Mary went home with Marion. Good day.

May 26. Sun. We all went to church. When we got home Hazel & George & Minnie were here. Marjory did not come home. In Afternoon after Hazel went home we went to lower place and salted the young cattle. At nite the boys went down to Argyle to C. E. Mary E came up and came home with the boys. It was a good day.

May 27. Mon. Florence & Oliver went to school. Marjory took the kids down to school. Johnnie went to Weir's to work. We did washing. Jim dragged out behind the barn then up in the field behind the orchard. At noon Jim and Marjory went to Weir's after marker. In P.M. Jim dragged & marked out corn ground. We shelled corn and tried to fix a corn planter but it would not work. Marjory and I went to Argyle after the school kids. When we got back Marjory went to Weir's after Johnnie & corn planter. Then they planted corn and did chores. Flossie had a calf over in field. Jim took horse & went after her. Good day

May 28. Tues. The boys finished planting the corn this morning. We did up house work and did some baking. Then we went to Argyle to Field Day exercises. Florence had to be down there at 8:30 because she was in spelling contest. Jim drove his own car. We took our dinner. Mary Weir went with us. We got home about five o'clock. It was a good day but awful hot.

May 29. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim went to Liddle's to borrow a horse and he brought John's team and drag up and used them. They dragged with both team. At noon Johnnie took the calf down to lower place and Jim went after him. In afternoon Marion brought Ruth and Dorothy up and left them to stay until Sunday. After supper Jim took the team back and Ruth & Florence went down with Johnnie after Jim. It was rainy at noon but awful hot.

May 30. Thurs. We went to Argyle in forenoon and went to cemetery. We had to mow the grass down on the lot. Mr. McComb mowed it for us. Then we went to Odgen's after seed corn. We came home and got dinner. The boys planted corn in afternoon. In P.M. Eva & Jack came along a while. The boys planted corn after they did chores until dark. At nite Marjory went away. It was a good day but awful warm.

May 31. Fri. Oliver & Florence went to school. Johnnie went to Weir's. Jim finished marking out and planting up above orchard. Then dragged down to lower house and planted sweet corn and early potatoes. In afternoon we went to Argyle & took Mother up to the cemetery because Mary McKnight was burried. Then we went to Fort Edward and left Johnnie's & Mary's shoes to get fixed. Then stopped & got some calf meal. We brought the school kids home with us. It was a good day but warm.

June 1. Sat. John Weir's Auction We did up the house work. The boys did chores & a few other things then went to Weir's auction. In forenoon George brought Hazel & Minnie down. Then after dinner we all went to the Auction. Ruth & Dorothy were here. When we came home Oscar Northup and wife came with us and stayed for supper and a while after. Johnnie went away with Hugh Weir. John Liddle's folks were here a while. It was a good day but got cool toward nite.

June 2. Sun. John Liddle's folks came up at nite to telephone. We did not go to church today. Ruth & Dorothy were here. We did up the house work and the boys did chores. At nite Oscar came and was here for supper and stayed a while. Jim & Johnnie & Marjory went to Argyle. They did not have any C. E. because they did not have any lights. but went to Methodist church. They went to Miller's with the milk check. It was a good day but quite cool.

June 3. Mon. We washed & Marion brought hers up and we did it but she took them home and hung them up. Jim took the school kids. In forenoon Jim, Eddy, Marjory went to Liddle's after his marker. Marion went home before noon. Johnnie dragged in forenoon and Jim marked out in P.M. and they planted corn behind barn. It was a good day. Jim & John went to Argyle and got a load of fertilizer. Dorothy & Ruth went home.

June 4. Tues. Oliver & Florence went to school. John dragged the potatoe ground and Jim planted rest of corn behind barn. At noon Jim went down after the drill and they drilled fertilizer in P.M. In A.M. Jim went down after fertilizer. Jim sorted some potatoes. We set out Dalhi and pulled weeds out of sweet peas. It was a good day. All except Marjory & I went to Liddle's.

June 5. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. The boys finished drilling in forenoon. In afternoon they marked out and planted potatoes. They sorted potatoes in forenoon. In afternoon we went down and planted some of our garden. We had a thunder shower in afternoon and the boys came to the house. Jim went away at nite.

June 6. Thurs. Oliver and Florence went to school. Marjory took the kids. We mended the rest of the day. The boys marked out and planted potatoes. They quit quite early & did chores then Jim took the drill & marker home & brought back a small load of hay for horses. In P.M. Marjory & I went to Argyle & got Mother and went to Fort Edward after shoes & chick feed & brought the school kids home. It was a good day.

June 7. Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. The boys finished planting potatoes in forenoon. In afternoon they drew out manure. We did up the house work. Johnnie planted in corn up in field above the orchard. In P.M. a man from the Federal Bank came and examined the farm. At nite John Liddle's folks came up for a while. It was a good day. We burned some brush in A.M.

June 8. Sat. We did up house work. After breakfast we all went out and burned a big pile of brush in orchard Then the boys drew manure the rest of the day. Johnnie worked on car & fixed tires. At noon John took a heifer calf down to the lower place to pasture. We went down after him. It was a good day. At nite we all went down to Argyle.

June 9. Sun." (Georgiana's handwriting) "We all went to church. It was childrens day In morning before church time Hazel & George & Minnie came down here a while. They were on their way to Marions. The young folks went to C. E. & I went down to Mothers. Jimmie & Johnnie went to the Lake awhile in the P.M.

June 10. Mon. In the morning we washed and took down the curtains in the Bedrooms & Sitting room. Marion came up and done her washing and dried them here. The boys went to the circus at night and took John Liddle & Hugh Weir

June 11. Tues. In the morning we got ready and was going to take the children to school but John McKernan took them and Marjory & I went down to Willard Durkees to get some money and came back and Mary did the other Ironing and I ironed the curtains and we cleaned the sitting room and took down the stove at night we went to Willard Durkees and I borrowed some money from Mathe Crosier. the boys went to John Liddles to help plant potatoes in the P.M.

June 12. Wed. In the morning we got ready and took the children to school and Mary went down and went to Argyle school in the forenoon and to Libbys and in the afternoon she went with Marion to take some of the children at Hudson Falls to see about Helen's Lameness and Marjory & I went to Glens Falls to get Marjory's Wedding clothes. We got home about 6 o'clock.

June 13. Thurs. Florence and Oliver went to school. Florence is trying Exams. We had dinner early and Jimmie went to John Liddles and after we had dinner we went to the Lower place to see about boards and things for a picnic for school and after Florence got through with Exams we went up to Hazels a while and got home and did chores.

June 14. Fri. We did housework in the forenoon and the boys cultivated corn in front of the house and at noon we went down to the McAuley place and the school had a picnic in the yard and about 2 oclock a Shower came up and we hustled home. Jimmie and Marjory went to Glens Falls for something.

June 15. Sat. Hazel & Minnie came down and Hazel stayed until about 2 oclock and went to Cuthberts to a shower for Emily Shannon and we kept Minnie. Jimmie went to Fort Edward and then brought Mother up and in the afternoon Marion and the children came up and about 3.45 oclock Marjory & Laurence went to Mr. Simpsons and were Married. Irene Weir & LaRue McClay went with them. They went to Canada on a Wedding Trip at night the boys took Mother home and Marion stayed all night. had showers all afternoon Oliver got very wet at night. Oliver tried French and passed.

June 16. Sun. We made Ice Cream yesterday and had Ice Cream & cake before Marjory & Lawrence went away and We made another Freezer today to take up to Hazels as we were to go up to stay with her today George is going to albany to Mr Phlilps funeral. Marion and the children went and at night Florence & I came back with Marion to Mothers and the came home with the boys & Mary from C. E.

June 17. Mon. We did our washing and had a large one. The boys had John Liddle's team and plow and plowed in the Orchard with two team. Mary & Florence picked some strawberries for Supper. The first fields ones. after supper they plowed until dark Jimmie went to Fort Edward after feed and took Oliver & Gertrude to try Exams.

June 18. Tues. We did the Ironing & baking and in the afternoon Mary & I cleaned the spare room. Marjory called form Glens Falls that they would be home tonight. The got home before supper. The Boys finished Plowing the Orchard & Dragged some.

June 19. Wed. In the morning the boys got ready to plant potatoes and John Liddle & Thomas McMillan came and helped them and got the orchard all planted. Lawrence helped some with the potatoes Marjory & Lawrence went to Argyle but came back at night. Jimmie took Johns team home and we went down after him. Thunder Showers at night.

June 20. Thurs. We did the housework and the boys plowed the piece below the other house where they intend to set out cabbage's We put in some more garden. At night we went to Argyle and down to Millers with the milk check. Had a shower while we were there. Florence got her hair cut.

June 21. Fri. In the morning we got up early and Johnnie went down to Argyle to get the nash fixed so it would not heat up so as he was going to the school picnic and take some others with him. Jimmie went to a social at church. Johnnie didnt get home until in the night. The rest didnt go anywhere. Jimmie & Oliver cultivated corn.

June 22. Sat. We did the housework and the Boys cultivated At night we went to Argyle and we got caught in a hard Thunder Shower we stayed at mothers Marion came up and was at Lils during the showers.

June 23. Sun. We all went to church It was Thistle Day and Barmockburn and there was a large crowd the church was filled and they brought in chairs. after church we went to the top of Argyle hill and had our lunch and came back to Mothers Merritt Durkee & Jennie came up in his car and Jennie stayed. They had service at Will Stevensons in the afternoon. We went to the Baccalauraett service at night.

June 24. Mon. In the morning the weather wasnt very good so didnt wash Marjory was here and the boys took off the mowing machine guards and took them down to Argyle and got them fixed and tried to start the Engine at the place down there but didn't get it going. Lawrence came at night.

June 25. Tues. We did our washing Marjory was here and did hers. Mary, Florence & Oliver went down in the field and picked strawberries and we had shortcakes for dinner. The clothes did not dry very good it rained in the afternoon but Marjory Ironed a few things. at night we went down to Commencement exercises.

June 26. Wed. We did up the housework and the girls & Oliver & Johnnie picked Strawberries and we canned 16 Pt cans Jimmie mowed the upper part of the clover field.

June 27. Thurs. We did up the house work and the boys fixed the coop for the Turkey she hatched one Turkey but we are going to put the other five with her. Johnnie went out to Mill after feed and Marjory went with him and stayed down to McWhorters. We went to the Auto Club at night. Katie Had a calf. Jimmie went to John Liddles to do chores at night

June 28. Fri. In the morning we did up the housework and then went up to Hazels. Marjory, Mary, Florence & I went and Mary stayed to help Hazel. It began to rain just after we got up there we came home by Belcher and got home before the boys had dinner. Boys went to grange.

June 29. Sat. We did up the baking and other work. The boys went to Argyle in the morning to repair the rollers on the barn doors at Mothers. We went up to Hazels to a Kitchen Shower for Marjory we went early and I helped Hazel some we had a nice crowd about 25 in all. We stayed and helped with the dishes and it was about 8 oclock when we got home Jimmie & Johnnie went away at night.

June 30. Sun. We did not go to church and in the afternoon we went down to Marions and at night we down to argyle the young people went to C. E. I went to Mothers.

July 1. Mon. We did the washing The Boys cultivated corn behind the barn and after the dew got dried off Jimmie raked the clover and toward the middle of the afternoon they began drawing in hay and got 3 loads in . The girls did the Ironing and picked some Strawberries.

July 2. Tues. Last night Earl Coon & Ida Lasher came up and hired Jimmie for a month or more. He was to go today or tomorrow. He stayed and helped the boys finish drawing the Hay and then went after an early dinner. We went to argyle and kept Minnie at night for Hazel to go the the Alumini Banquet. I went to Glens Falls with Marion & Helen to an Orthopedic Clinic The girls kept the other children.

July 3. Wed. After we got the chores done and breakfast over Jimmie, Oliver, Florence & I went down to Argyle to see about getting paint for the car but didnt get any. after we got home Johnnie got ready to mow but just got started when the machine broke. He and Lawrence went to Argyle and got it fixed and got the Clover mowed Jimmie came home for the 4th.

July 4. Thurs. In the morning we had to have the milk and draw earlier so had to get up early. we put up lunch and all went to Argyle about 9:30 oclock and stayed all day. Marion came and we all had lunch at Mothers. Marjory & Lawrence were there too. The boys came home and did chores but we stayed and had supper at mothers and stayed for Fireworks & Band Concert. The Parade was good. Grange got first place in the parade.

July 5. Fri. We did up the housework and chores and It was rainy so Johnnie & I laid down and went to sleep until about noon and we had dinner and went down to John Liddles and the boys went to try to find the Heifer that had gotten out of the pasture but she had got back with the other cattle. we worked in the garden after we got back.

July 6. Sat. I baked bread and did a lot of other baking and canned 6 qts of Rheubarb and Mary mopped & did cleaning The boys cultivated Potatoes down on the side hill and pulled out the Buckwheat and at night we all went to the McIntyre Picnic at Cossayuna Billikin. Marjory & Lawrence went and took Mother.

July 7. Sun. We all went to church but did not stay for Sabbath School. Jimmie came home about 8 oclock and Hazel & George & Minnie were at church but didnt come up. In the afternoon we went down to the Lake a while and it rained hard down there Jimmie went away but did not anyone go to C.E.

July 8. Mon. We had a very hard Thunder Shower or several of them last night and it rained some but not very hard. We washed and Johnnie & Oliver went out to Fort Edward after feed for calves & chickens and then they cultivated and after noon Johnnie raked up the clover by the barn and then they cultivated some more. Florence & Mary picked first Raspberries.

July 9. Tues. after the dew got off the boys & Mary drew in the clover by the barn they had 5 loads. It was late when they got the chores done. Marjory & Lawrence came up and stayed up all night. Lil Yarter has a new baby born about 4:30 named Richard Jackson.

July 10. Wed. The boys cultivated corn and after dinner we went down to Marion after Raspberries. We got quite a good many berries I kept the children and the girls picked berries.

July 11. Thurs. Marjory went down to Argyle with Lawrence in the morning and took his car and went down to Marions and picked berries and canned 10 pt cans and Marion got quite a few. In the afternoon Johnnie & Oliver took 5 bu of potatoes to Fort Edward and we went to the lower place and picked berries.

July 12. Friday. The boys cultivated potatoes and corn and Mary did the sweeping Florence was sick at noon and did not feel very good in the afternoon. at night Johnnie & Mary went to Grange. The Greenwich brought the traveling and the had a big supper. Johnnie helped Jo Crosier draw in hay. in the afternoon we worked in the Garden.

July 13. Sat. In the morning Marion & Edd brought the children up and left them and went to a Masonic Picnic at Lake St Cath. We had chicken for dinner. Johnnie mowed part of the Clover up back by the cow pasture. Marjory came up with their car and went back to take Laurence home from Moodys to do chores Johnnie went away at night.

July 14. Sun. In the morning about 11 o clock we went over to Harrys for a Birthday picnic for Earl & I It was a day behind but was too busy the day before. Marions Folks were there & Marjory & Lawrence & Mother were too. Hazel & George were invited but had planned a trip up north. after we got home we did chores. We went to John Liddles. Harry dog bite or scratched Florence quite a little.

July 15. Mon. In the morning we washed and got the clothes nearly all dry and Johnnie raked the left over up back and they bunched it and after dinner we went down to Marions to get Raspberries and got a nice lot and came back by Argyle and brought Mother home to go to Newt Rogers Funeral Tomorrow. At night Johnnie went down to John Liddles after Jarvis Keyworth to shoe the horses. We took him home about 9:30 o clock.

July 16. Tues. Jim went to Glens Falls and got his new suit. The boys and Mary drew in Clover as soon the dew got off. Joseph Crosier helped them in the forenoon. In the afternoon Marjory took Mother to the Funeral and then we went to the McAuley place to pick berries. Oliver went over after dinner with Joe to help them draw in hay.

July 17. Wed. In the morning Mother went home with Lawrence and The boys & Mary drew in the rest of the hay Joe Crosier helped them In the afternoon we set out over 500 cabbage plants and at night the young folks went to a C. E. Social at the curch and I stayed at mothers.

July 18. Thurs." (Marjory's handwriting) "In morning we dressed fifteen chickens. Then the boys & Florence took them out to the Fort. We did up the house work. At noon Hazel telephoned up and we went down to Marion's and helped her pick some berries. We picked quite a lot. At nite we had a hard thunder shower and the lightening blew out our telephone.

July 19. Fri. In morning Marjory went down with Laurence. After breakfast we went to Fort Edward to Dollar Day. Johnnie got a new suit and we got a few other things. In the afternoon the boys cultivated potatoes in the orchard. At nite we all went to Auto. club. We stayed for program but Marjory & Laurence did not. It rained some in the morning but rest of day was pretty good.

July 20. Sat. In forenoon we did up the house work. I baked bread. The boys shovel plowed the potatoes down on the side hill. At noon the boys set up Florence's tent. The boys shovel plowed in the afternoon. Laurence did not come up very early at nite. It was a good day.

July 21. Sun. In morning Marjory went down with Laurence. We did not have any church. Jimmie came up in the morning. In afternoon we went down to the Lake and Marion and the children were there. The young folks went down to C. E. at nite and I stayed at Mother's. Hazel was down to Lill's in P.M. It was a good day. Marjory & Laurence came up and stayed all nite. Jim went back to Lasher's.

July 22. Mon. In morning we did our washing. Johnnie mowed hay down across from the woods. Oliver and Florence pulled buckwheat out of the potatoes. We did our ironing in the afternoon and mended some. It was a good day.

July 23. Tues. We did up work. Edna Liddle came and brought up her washing. We did it after noon. It got dry and we took it home about nite. Florence & Marjory went to Argyle after groceries. The boys got up early about 4 o'clock and dusted potatoes down on the sidehill. Busy & Florence got the cows about 5 o'clock. In forenoon we went to lower place and got quite a few berries. It was a good day. The boys cultivated a while. Then they raked hay and drew in two loads.

July 24. Wed. The boys cultivated a while in morning. Then they finished drawing in the hay. We did up the house work. In the afternoon we went to Marion's and picked some berries. We went by Argyle so Bernice could go with us but she did not go. I did up five quarts of berries for Marion (brought them up). Johnnie mowed the upper part of the field down below the orchard. Oliver hoed the garden.

July 25. Thurs. In morning Marjory went down with Laurence. It rained all forenoon. Marjory went to a missionary picnic at Dennis'. We did up the house work. The boys changed the horse fork in the big barn.

July 26. Fri. Johnnie finished mowing the upper part of the field below orchard. We did up the house work. At nite Johnnie went to Argyle then he went to Falls with some boys. It was a good day.

July 27. Sat. We did up the house work. The boys & Mary drew in the hay off from the upper part of that field. At nite we went to Argyle and then went over to the Lake. Marion & children went too. They came up here and stayed all nite because Ed had gone away. It was a good day.

July 28. Sun. In morning Marion, Helen, Edward, Ruth, Florence and Jim & I went to church. Jim came up in the morning. We went in Marion's car. About one o'clock we had a hard thunder shower and a hard wind. It blew over a tree out by hog pen. Jim went to Lake for dinner he drove Marion's car. At nite the young folks went to C. E. They had it at Hale's because they didn't have lights at church. Marion went home at nite.

July 29. Mon. In morning we did our washing and Edna brought her washing up and we did. Johnnie finished mowing the field below the orchard. The clothes all got dry. It was a good day. We took John's washing home. Then we went to John McAuley's after some things that Jim got to Falls. Marjory and Laurence were here when we got back. Johnnie raked some hay down the road.

July 30. Tues. We did the ironing. Marjory washed out her clothes by hand. I baked some. At nite we went down to Argyle to an entertainment called Alls McKay. Johnnie mowed up on the hill. In afternoon he raked up some hay down here and up on hill. They drewed in 2 load of hay. They took down the horse fork and brought it over to the horse barn.

July 31. Wed. In morning the boys put up the horse fork in horse barn. Then they went down and fixed the road to go up on the hill. Then the boys & Mary went and drew in hay. They got it all drawed in about middle of afternoon. Marjory drew up the horse fork with the Nash. After they got the hay drawed in Johnnie mowed up on the hill. We began throwing in wood today. It was a good day.

Aug. 1. Thurs. In morning Johnnie finished mowing up on hill. Then he raked up what he mowed the day before and drew it in. Then raked what he mowed that day and drawed it in. Put it in horse barn. Marjory drawed up horse fork with car. In forenoon Oliver hoed potatoes. We got ready and went down after barries but didn't get any because they were not ripe. We got a few raspberries down to lower place. I am not feeling very good today.

Aug. 2. Fri. The boys hoed potatoes about all day. In the afternoon Marjory & Florence went down to Weir's. Marjory went to a shower for Mrs. Dorothy Inman. Mary Emma came home with us. At nite Jim came up. We all went to Reid's to get some stuff to spray potatoes with. Jim went back when we got back. In forenoon Marjory & Florence threw in wood and afternoon Mary threw in a lot.

Aug. 3. Sat. The boys fixed stuff to spray potatoes with but it didn't work very good. Then they put on some paris green. We did up house work. I baked bread. In afternoon the boys shelled popcorn. Then went over to Darfler's after cracked corn. They found calves & put them in. put turkeys & chickens in . Jim came up a nite and stayed all nite. Johnnie went to Argyle. Marjory went down with him and stayed. It rained in the afternoon.

Aug. 4. Sun. Hazel & George & Minnie came down and they and all of us went to church. We had a soft tire going down. Hazel went home around four o'clock. We put in the turkeys and calves & chickens. At nite we all went to Argyle. The young folks went to C. E. and I stayed at Mother's. It was a good day but quite cold.

Aug. 5. Mon. We did ours and John Liddle's washing today. We could not hang them all up at once. It rained quite hard at different times but most of the clothes got dry. The boys hoed, shoveled out. Johnnie mowed in forenoon upon hill. In afternoon the boys, Marj & Florence piled wood. " (Busy's handwriting)

"Aug. 6. Tues. Johnny finished mowing upon the hill in A.M. and P.M. The girls did the ironing in A.M . and piled and throwed in wood. Oliver & Florence howed potatoes in A.M. In P.M. Mrs. Gilchrist come down a while. Oliver and girls worked with wood in P.M. Mother called up in P.M. and said that Jennie and Maralyn were down their. We went down at nite. Marion & children were down there.

Aug. 7. Wed. We went down to woods to see if there was any berries. There was not any. We stopped at Garden coming back. Johnny and Oliver howed and shoveled potatoes in morning. And about 10 Johnny went and raked hay and Oliver, Florence, Busy bunched. They drawed in some too. After supper Marjory, Florence and I went up to Henry Reid's after some poison for the potatoes.

Aug. 8. Thurs. Johnny took the team and went up and got Morgan's sprayer. Oliver and Busy finished howing them and shovel plowing them. They sprayed them in the forenoon all but a little bit finished in afternoon. In P.M. the boys drawed in last load of hay off hill above potatoes. After supper Johnny took sprayer back. At nite we all went to Chautauqua. Finished throwing in wood.

Aug. 9. Fri. It was rainy in A.M. Johnny mowed flat in the orchard in P.M. Marjory, Florence, Mary went down to Chautauqua in P.M. At nite we all went down at Chautauqua. At nite they had a play.

Aug. 10. Sat. Johnny and Oliver went up to Morgan's to work in A.M. In P.M. Johnny raked up hay in the orchard and Oliver, Florence, Busy bunched it up. Drawed in 3 loads. At nite we all went to Chautauqua. Marjory drawed up hay with horse fork with the nash. Tonite is the last nite of Chautauqua the boys stayed to help take the tent down. Then went down to Rice's and had water melon.

Aug. 11. Sun. We did not go to church. In A.M. Johnny and Jimmy went down to John Liddle's. In P.M. we went up to Hazel's. We went up the new road from Hartford to Granville. At nite the rest went to C. E. I went down to Mother's. Had a flat tire down by lower place.

Aug. 12. Mon. We did our washing and Liddle's too. Johnny started reaping this A.M. He finished reaping the field by the lane and started the field up above the horse pasture. I baked some. The girls did the ironing in P.M. and Florence Devereax, Leon Chamblin and a friend came and stayed a while. Oliver did odd jobes waited.

Aug. 13. Tues. We got up early. We went down to John Liddle's and went up on Billys place to pick berries. Edna and kids went too. She drove her car up in field. I kept Florence and Marjory in car. We got home shortly after noon. Johnny reaped in A.M. It rained in P.M. We canned berries. Johnny fixed tire.

Aug. 14. Wed. In A.M. the boys unloaded a load of hay. It rained some in A.M. and hard in P.M. Johnny and I went down to Mr. Cuthberts on business and went on down to the Billiken. I stayed in the car. It was a Christian Endeavor picnic the rest got out and had supper. And played games." (End of book 1. Book 2 starts with Marjory's handwriting)

Aug. 15. Thurs. Johnnie and I went to Belcher and to Fort Edward on business. Marjory and Laurence came up in the morning. Jimmie came up and he & Laurence went to Cambridge Fair. Johnnie finished cutting the oats upon the hill then he took the reaper home. In the afternoon us women folks & Marion Liddle went with us down to the swamp and picked berries. At nite we went down to George McKernon's on business.

Aug. 16. Fri. We did up the house work. They began drawing in Oats in the afternoon. Jimmie came up in the afternoon and helped them. Marjory went down to Marion's and kept kids while she took Helen out to Doctors. They got the little piece of oats drew in and a load from the other field. It was a good day.

Aug. 17. Sat. We did up the house work and baking. The boys & Busy & Florence finished drawing in oats but had to work quite late. Jimmie was here and helped them. It was a good day but awful hot. Marjory & Laurence went to Auto-club picnic at Hedges.

Aug. 18. Sun. We did not go to church because they did not have any church. In afternoon Hazel & George & Minnie came down. And Marion, Helen, Eddy, Ruthie, and Dorothy came up. Helen stayed up. At night we went to Argyle. They all went to C. E. except me and I went to Mother's. It was a good day.

Aug. 19. Mon. Busy and I did our washing & Edna's. Marjory came up in the morning & helped wash. We did up the ironing in the afternoon. Oliver chored around all day. Johnnie had to go out to the Fair. He drove the Nash. Marjory went home before dark and took Edna's washing down. It was a good day.

Aug. 20. Tues. Johnnie went out Fair. Busy & I took him down to McDougall's corner & he went out with Marshall McGeoch. Then we started to take Oliver down to Liddle's to work but we had a flat tire and turned around and came back. Marjory brought Lill up and they went down in the swamp and picked berries. I kept Richard. They went home about four o'clock. It was a good day.

Aug. 21. Wed. Johnnie took Jimmie's car and went out to the Fair early. Jimmie took the Nash and the rest of us went out to the Fair. Jimmie left his car out to the grounds. Johnnie went home with Kenneth Story & went back with him the next day. It was a good day. We did not stay for nite. Jimmie went back out at nite.

Aug. 22. Thurs. The boys did chores. Then we got ready and went to the Fair. We stayed out for nite. Jimmie and Oliver came home and done chores. Marion & Kids were at the Fair. It was a good day but awful hot.

Aug. 23. Fri. Johnnie went out to the Fair. It rained hard about all day. Then Johnnie took the Nash at nite & left it at Argyle & went out with Kenneth Story. Jimmie went away at nite. At nite we had an awful hard thunder shower and it rained hard. Marion came up and left Dorothy then she went to Fair.

Aug. 24. Sat. The boys did the chores. We did up the house work. The boys just chored around all day. At night we all went to Argyle. Marion was up there and she took Dorothy home with her. It was a good day.

Aug. 25. Sun. The boys did the chores. We did not go to church. At night we went to C. E. In P.M. we went down & got Mother & Jennie and went down to Greenwich, Cambridge for a ride. It was a good day. Florence & I stayed down to Mother's.

Aug. 26. Mon. Busy & I did ours & Edna's washing. Marjory & Laurence came up in the morning. Johnnie started mowing the clover. Toward night they raked up some of the clover. At night Johnnie was sick. It was a good day.

Aug. 27. Tues. We did the ironing. Johnnie is feeling better today. Johnnie finished raking and then they drew in the hay except one load. It was a good day. Jim came home at nite. He is through at McAuley's today.

Aug. 28. Wed. Johnnie mowed the rest of the clover. Jim helped mow some in the afternoon . We did up the house work. Johnnie went to Argyle & brought Grandma & Jennie. Jimmie mowed the side hill in orchard. At night the boys did chores early & we took them home and went down around by the Lake.

Aug. 29. Thurs. Ed brought the kids & Marion up and we went down to the swamp and pick berries. Johnnie fixed tires in morning. Then the boys raked and drew in the rest of the hay. Marion stayed until nite and we did up her berries. At nite Ed & Garry came after them. At nite Johnnie & Jim went up to Morgan's and got a shoe. Then they went to the Lake.

Aug. 30. Fri. Jim mowed the hay upon the hill in A.M. and Johnnie finished it in P.M. Then he mowed the swale. At noon he & Oliver went to Argyle after Mother & Jen and fixed tire and brought them up. Then us women folks & Mother & Jen went to Hartford. We left Jen at Hazel's. At nite Mother went home with Jimmie & Johnnie. They went away and they got run into and they tipped over but did not get hurt but smashed the car some. In afternoon Jim went down to John Liddle's and worked.

Aug. 31. Sat. We did up the house work. Jim had to go to Fort Edward to see about getting his car fixed. Morgan came down and sprayed the potatoes. The telephone man came and fixed the telephone. The boys finished spraying the potatoes in P.M. In afternoon we went down to the lower place and picked elderberries. At night we went to Argyle then to Fort Edward after some school clothes.

Sept. 1. Sun. We all went to church. While we were going we met Oscar & his wife. we talked to him a few minutes. In the afternoon we went down to the lower place and salted the young cattle. At nite we went to Argyle. The young folks went to C. E. Jennie came back to Mother's in afternoon with Oscar & his wife. It was a good day.

Sept. 2. Mon. We did not wash. Busy and Florence went to the school house and helped clean it. Johnnie and Oliver fixed the chicken coop. Jim worked on his car in forenoon and in afternoon he went to Liddle's and hoed potatoes. It was a good day. We went up to Morgan's and got Florence's hair cut.

Sept. 3. Tues. Busy and I did ours and Liddle's washing. Oliver and Florence started in school today. Oliver came home at noon. Johnnie went out after feed. In afternoon Busy did our ironing. Jim went down to John Liddle's to work. In afternoon the boys fixed the bicycle. It was a good day.

Sept. 4. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim went down to Liddle's to work. Oliver went to school on his bicycle. In forenoon Johnnie raked up the hay down in the swale. At nite after supper the boys burned it. We picked over elderberries about all day. We went down to meet Oliver but we met him at Crosier's turn. It was a good day.

Sept. 5. Thurs. Oliver and Florence went to school. Oliver rode down with McKernon's. Marjory came up in forenoon. We canned elderberries about all day. Jim went to John Liddle's. Johnnie chored around all day. After school we went to Lower place and picked a few elderberries for Marion. We were going to bring the young cattle up but we did not. Marjory went home before dark. It was a good day.

Sept. 6. Fri. Florence and Oliver went to school. Oliver rode down with us. We went down to Marion's and helped her do some work. Jim went to John Liddle's. We came home after school & brought Oliver home with us. It was a good day.

Sept. 7. Sat. Jim went to John Liddle's to work. Johnnie & Laurence went to the Rutland Fair with Robinson Boys. We did up the house work. We were going to W. C. T. U. picnic but I didn't feel very good so we didn't go. In afternoon we had a thunder shower. It was a good day & warm aside from the shower. At night we went to Fort Edward after Jennie. Grandma went with us.

Sept. 8. Sun. In morning Hazel, George, Minnie came down then went to church. We all went to church but did not stay for Sunday School. Helen was there and she came home with us and went back with us at night. At night we went to Argyle and the young folks except Florence went to Christian Endeavor. It was a good day. Marjory & Laurence came up at night.

Sept. 9. Mon. Oliver and Florence went to school. It rained hard about all day. Marjory, Busy and I went down to Marion's and helped her fill a feather tick and some pillows. Johnnie stayed here and Jim went and got a load of potatoes & took them out and sold them. We came back by Argyle & brought Oliver home with us.

Sept. 10. Tues. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim went to Liddle's to work. The rest of us went to Argyle to help Marion clean her house. It rained some and we had showers. We came back after school and brought Oliver home with us. Marjory is not feeling very well today but she went with us.

Sept. 11. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. Busy & I did ours and Liddle's washing. Marjory is not feeling very well and didn't get up until noon. Johnnie & Jim both went up to Morgan's to help fill silo and cut corn. It was a good day.

Sept. 12. Thurs." (Georgiana's handwriting) "Marjory's baby born today" (Marjory's handwriting) "Oliver and Florence went to school. Johnnie and Jim went to Morgan's to fill silo. Busy did the ironing. Eva & Jack came along a while toward nite." (Georgiana's handwriting)

"Marjory has not been feeling well since Monday and was worse this morning so when Laurence went to do chores he had the Dr come up and stayed a while and went home again but she kept getting worse so Laurence went to find a nurse he got Mrs. Kilmer and the baby was born about 5.00 oclock at night. She got along very good." (Marjory's handwriting)

"Sept. 13. Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim and Johnnie went to Morgan's to help fill silo in forenoon. In afternoon Jim worked on his car. Johnnie took me to Fort Edward to get things for the baby. We got home about dark and Oliver came home with us. At night Jim, Johnnie, Mary went to Grange. At night Phoebe Kilmer got a telephone call and Laurence took her to Argyle because she had to go somewhere else. We stayed alone that nite. It was a good day.

Sept. 14. Sat. We did up the house work. The boys took cider apples in both cars then they took Jim's car and went to the Falls. Oliver and Laurence fixed fence down to the lower place in forenoon. Laurence went to work in the afternoon. The boys just chored around in afternoon. At night Jim went away. Laurence brought Mrs. Bussing to care for Marjory's baby. At night it rained awful hard.

Sept. 15. Sun. We did not go to church. In forenoon Hazel, George, Minnie came down. They stayed until about two o'clock. Marion and the children came up in afternoon. At night Jim, Johnnie, Mary went to C. E. It was a good day.

Sept. 16. Mon. Oliver and Florence went to school. We did ours and Liddle's washing. Jim went to Liddle's to work. Johnnie picked cider apples all day. It was a good day. At night Laurence took Mrs. Bussing home. We stayed alone that night. Mr. Kelleher's folks came out and were here a few minutes. Laurence went to see if he could get Ruth Gillis but could not but Mary Murdock would come the next morn. Johnnie took a load of cider apples in P.M.

Sept. 17. Tues. Oliver and Florence went to school. It was rainy. Laurence came up in the forenoon and brought Mother up with him. She stayed until afternoon. After noon Laurence went over and got Mary Murdock. In afternoon Jim went to John Liddle's and went to Argyle and Oliver came home with him. At noon Mary Keyworth came up to see Marjory & baby.

Sept. 18. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. Johnnie went to Clare's to work. Jim went to John Liddle's to work. We did up the house work. In afternoon Johnnie came down after our hay rack. It was a good day. Busy went down to Marion's and stayed all night.

Sept. 19. Thurs. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim went to Liddle's. Johnnie went to Clare's to help fill silo. In afternoon Marion & Ed came along and stopped a while. They brought Busy up with them. It was a good day. Busy, Johnnie, Jim went to a Christian Endeavor social at nite.

Sept. 20. Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim and Johnnie went to Clare's to help fill silo. Busy went to Marion's and helped her move up to Argyle. I did up the house work. It was a good day. Busy went down with Laurence and came up at nite with him. Johnnie & Jim went away at nite.

Sept. 21. Sat. We did up the house work. Jim went to C. Kinney's to work. Johnnie went to Clare's. Oliver picked cider apples part of the day. Marjory set up a little while today. At morning Florence went down Laurence and went to Marion's and stayed until nite. Jimmie took me down to Marion's and brought Florence home with us. It was a good day.

Sept. 22. Sun. We did not go to church. Laurence took Mary Murdock home before noon and she stayed until nite. Marjory came down stairs today. The boys carried her down & back up at nite. At nite the young folks went to C. E. Laurence stayed down to C. E. It was a good day.

Sept. 23. Mon. Busy and I did ours & Edna's washing. Johnnie & Jimmie picked up cider apples. Then Johnnie took them and went to Fort Edward after feed & Oliver came home with him. He had trouble with the car and went to the garage and got it fixed. Jim drew stones in over by the silo. Marjory was down stairs about all day. It was a good day.

Sept. 24. Tues. The boys took Ned & one of John Liddle's horses and our hay rack and went to David Foster's to help fill silo. Johnnie took Oliver down to Shannon's Corners. Busy & I did Marion's washing and a few of our clothes. After school Marion came up after the washing and brought Oliver home with her. The boys didn't get home until late. At nite Laurence went and took Mary Murdock home. It was a good day.

Sept. 25. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim went to David Foster's to work. He got through about middle of afternoon. Then they got Liddle's engine and set the cutter & engine up and they cut a load of corn and put it in the silo. Johnnie went down after Liddle's truck and he drew dirt in over by the silo. Busy picked apples. In afternoon the Simpson's came and made a call. After school Edna Liddle & girls came up after John & Marion. At nite the boys went to Argyle after gas & oil. It was a good day.

Sept. 26. Thurs. Oliver and Florence went to school. J. Liddle & his man came up. They cut corn part of the forenoon then they drew and filled silo the rest of the day. We did up the house work. It was a good day.

Sept. 27. Fri. The children did not go to school. Florence did not have any. They cut corn & picked corn and filled silo. It was a good day. We did up house work. Toward night Marion & children & Mother came up & got Busy. She stayed with kids while Ed & Marion went out to the Fair. Jim went to D. Foster's and sharpened the knives on the cutter. In afternoon Oscar & Kate came along. They were going to start for California the next morning.

Sept. 28. Sat. J. Liddle & his man came up and they filled silo & cut corn & picked corn all day. We did up the house work. Ed brought Busy up in the forenoon. At nite we all went to Argyle. Florence and I stayed & kept the children. Busy & Oliver went out to the fair with Marion. Jim & Johnnie went too. It was a good day.

Sept. 29. Sun. We all went to church except Busy, Marjory & Laurence. Before we got home Hazel, George, Minnie came down. They went home about four o'clock. The boys went down and put in the young cattle. Toward nite Marjory went down to Argyle with Laurence and they came back before time for C. E. The young folks and Laurence went to C. E. It was a good day in forenoon but rained toward night.
Sept. 30. Mon. Florence went to school but Oliver did not. Edna brought up her washing. We did both washings today. In P. M. John L. & his man came up. They work until about three o'clock and it rained. The boys went to Argyle to get some gas pipe for engine & went to Fort Edward. Johnnie got his shoe fixed. They did not get home until late.

Oct. 1. Tues. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim took Oliver down and run out of gas. They filled silo. They finished getting the corn up behind the house. At nite after school Busy & I went to meet Oliver. We met him down by John Liddle's. It was a good day.

Oct. 2. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim took Oliver down. John L. & his man came up and it was raining but they did not work. Before noon Jim went to Argyle & he stayed down and brought Oliver home. We cut off corn and canned it today. Johnnie chored around all day. It rained just about all day. Johnnie went away at nite.

Oct. 3. Thurs. Oliver and Florence went to school. The boys took Oliver down then they took Apples out to Fort Edward & sold them. They got home a little after noon. Oliver stayed down to Marion's all nite. It rained hard all day. We peeled cucumbers for pickles & cooked corn. It was quite cold tonite.

Oct. 4. Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim & Johnnie worked with the corn along today and filled silo. It was a good day. We did Marion's washing today. It was cold in the morning. We made pickles. We did Marion's ironing in P.M. Marjory & Florence went down after Oliver with Jim's car. At nite Jim went away & took Marion's washing home.

Oct. 5. Sat. J. Liddle & his man came up. The boys & them finished filling our silo in the forenoon before noon then they took the engine & cutter down to John's & began filling his silo. We did up the house work. In the P.M. Busy & Florence picked apples. It was a good day.

Oct. 6. Sun. We did not any of us go to church. The young cattle were out and they went and put them in. In forenoon John Liddle's folks came up. In P.M. we went to Hazel's. Marjory & baby went down with Laurence to Mother's. I kept Earl while they went to C. E. the young folks went to C. E. It was a good day but kind of cool.

Oct. 7. Mon. Oliver and Florence went to school. Johnnie & Jim took him down and tried to sell some apples but could not. Johnnie is not feeling very well. Jim went to Liddle's in P.M. After school Busy & Johnnie & Florence went down after Oliver. On there way back they brought the young cattle up and put them in the lane field. It rained in the forenoon and we did not wash.

Oct. 8. Tues. Oliver and Florence went to school. We did ours and Liddle's washing. We took Oliver to school. At nite after school Marjory, Busy and Florence went down after Oliver. We took Edna's Washing down. It was a good day. Johnnie went to Liddle's and helped fill silo all day. Liddle's baby born today.

Oct. 9. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. Johnnie took Oliver down . Johnnie helped John Liddle fill silo today. At noon John L. came up to get me to stay down and stay with Edna. It was a good day but cold. Busy picked pound sweet apples about all day. Before the boys did chores they went up and got the pumkins.

Oct. 10. Thurs. Oliver and Florence went to school. We took Oliver as far as Liddle's then he rode with J. Scally. We did up the house work and Busy picked twelve bushel of cider apples. In the afternoon We took them down and went out to the Fort after feed. Johnnie worked to Liddle's filling silo. Florence went down to Liddle's after school. They did not get through filling silo. At nite Johnnie & Oliver went out to the show. It was a good day.

Oct. 11. Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. We took Oliver down to school and left Johnnie to Liddle's. In the morning the young cattle got out and the boys put them in before they went. In afternoon Johnnie got through and brought the team up and drawed in apples. Marjory went after Oliver she stopped and got Florence. At nite Busy & Johnnie went to Grange. It was a good day but kind of cold.

Oct. 12. Sat. In morning Harry S. brought Harold & Stanley over to stay over the week-end. The boys & Florence dug potatoes & picked them and Johnnie took them out to Fort Edward and brought Earl S. back with him. While he was gone they drew in corn. In the P.M. they dug potatoes. We did up the house work. After supper the boys went over to the barn and husked corn. It was a pretty good day. It rained a little in the P.M.

Oct. 13. Sun. We all went to church. Marjory took the baby down and left him with Mother. We did not go any where in the afternoon. At night Johnnie, Jimmie, Busy, Earl went to Christian Endeavor. It was a good day but quite cool at nite.

Oct. 14. Mon. Oliver & Earl S. went to school. Marjory took Oliver & Earl with Jim's car. We did ours and Liddle's washing. Some of them got dry. At night Marjory went after Oliver. The boys dug potatoes & Florence & Harold & Stanley picked them In afternoon Harry & Nettie came along and took the boys home. At nite Marjory & Laurence went over to W. Dinning's to a surprise party. It was a good day but cold.

Oct. 15. Tues. Oliver went to school. We took him as far as Blanch's J. Marion came up and we did her washing. About time for school to be out she went home. The boys dug potatoes and Busy & Florence picked them. Eddy & Ruth helped them. The girls picked cider apples. Marjory took Jim's car and went after Oliver. It was a good day.

Oct. 16. Wed. Oliver went to school. Florence and Mary and I took cider apples and took Oliver. The boys dug potatoes in the orchard. We did up the house work. Mary and Florence picked the potatoes. Marjory went after Oliver with Jim's car. It was a good day. Mary & Florence picked a load of cider apples.

Oct. 17. Thurs. First Day it Snowed. Oliver went to school. Marjory and Florence took him down and took a load of cider apples. The boys dug potatoes in orchard & Mary & Florence picked them. They picked a load of cider apples. We did up the house work. After school Mary & I took down a load of apples and brought Oliver home. It was awful cold & windy & it snowed.

Oct. 18. Fri. Oliver went to school. Marjory & Florence took Oliver and took a load of cider apples. The boys dug potatoes in the orchard. Mary and Florence picked potatoes. We did up the house work. It was a good day but a little cold & windy.

Oct. 19. Sat. The boys dug potatoes in the orchard. Laurence came up just before noon and helped dig the rest of the day. We did up the house work. Toward nite Marjory & Laurence went to Hudson Falls and I kept the baby. The boys worked until quite late. It was a good day.

Oct. 20. Sun. We did not any of us go to church. Jim hitched up Queen and drove her a little ways. Hazel, George, Minnie & Mother went to church. then they came up for dinner. Laurence came up in P. M. Toward nite Marjory, Earl, Mother, Florence went down Laurence. The rest came down later and we all went to church. It was a good day.

Oct. 21. Mon. Oliver and Florence went to school. Oliver went to school with McKernon's. We took turns week. We did ours & Liddle's washing. The boys dug potatoes. Mary picked them. Mary & I went after Oliver and we took a load of cider apples. It was a good day. Marjory did part of the ironing.

Oct. 22. Tues. Oliver & Florence went to school. Oliver went with McKernon's. Marjory finished the ironing. We did up the house work. Marjory & Mary took a load of apples & brought Oliver & Gert home. The boys & Mary drew in ears of corn. Mary picked apples. It was cloudy & kind of cold. Jimmie & John, Mary & Marjory went to church.

Oct. 23. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. Marjory took Oliver & Gert to school & took a load of cider apples. We did up house work. I started making over a coat for Mary. The boys dug potatoes and Mary picked them Oliver did not get home from school until late. At nite we all except Marjory went to church she & baby stayed to Marion's. It was a good day.

Oct. 24. Thurs. Oliver & Florence did not go to school because they had vacation Teachers Conference. The boys finished digging potatoes in the orchard in A.M. About noon Laurence came up. He helped in P.M. They dug down on the side hill. Mary & Florence picked them. At nite Marjory went down with Laurence & went down to church. Jimmie went to church & Johnnie went to the Falls. It was a good day.

Oct. 25. Fri. We did up the house work. The boys dug potatoes and Florence & Mary picked them. At nite we all went to Argyle. Marjory & Baby stayed at Marion's and the rest went to church. It was a good day but kind of cool. Jimmie's car is broken & he worked some on it. Laurence came up and helped the boys.

Oct. 26. Sat. We did up the house work. The boys dug potatoes in forenoon. In afternoon Jim fixed his car he got a part at J. Liddle's. Oliver, Johnnie, Florence went down to lower place & picked the snow apples. In P.M. Kelleher's folks came along and stopped a while. I finished up Mary's coat tonite. It was not a very good day.

Oct. 27. Sun. We all went to church except Marjory & Earl. They stayed to Marion's. Marion & children all went. When we came home from church we brought Eddy & Dorothy home with us. Marjory went down to McWhorter's for the afternoon. At nite I stayed to Marion's and kept her children and Earl. It was a good day except a little shower in P.M. The rest went to church.

Oct. 28. Mon. Oliver & Florence went to school. Oliver rode down the McKernon's. We did ours & Liddle's washing. The boys dug potatoes & Mary picked them. Marjory went to the Fort with Potatoes & Apples & brought home grain. She got Oliver from school before she went out. It was about dark when we got home. At nite Lois Todd & K. Collins came and stayed quite a while.

Oct. 29. Tues. Oliver & Florence went to school. Mary & I took Oliver down and we stopped to Carrie McMillian's. We did up house work. Marjory did ironing. At noon Marjory, baby & I went to Argyle . We left baby at Marion's and we went to Auction at McMillian's. I & Baby stayed down and after supper the rest came down and they except Florence & I went to church. The boys finished digging potatoes down on the side hill.

Oct. 30. Wed. Oliver & Florence went to school. Mary & I took him down. We did up the house work. The boys dug potatoes down to lower house. Mary & they picked up cider apples. Mary & Marjory went down after Oliver. They took down a load of cider apples. It was a good day except cold. At nite John & Jim went to McFarland's to a Halloween Party.

Oct. 31. Thurs. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim took Oliver down and took a load of cider apples. Marion & children came up and we did her washing. They did not get dry. Mary & I went down after Oliver & took a load of cider apples down. The boys picked apples & husked corn. At nite Mary & Johnnie went to D. Bain's to a Halloween Party. The rest of us went to school house to a Party. M. Keyworth stayed here all nite.

Nov. 1. Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim took Oliver with his car. The rest of us & him dressed thirteen chickens. Then Johnnie took them out. He took three live. He got back about two o'clock. In A.M. John Liddle came up and Jim went down to John L's and picked apples. When Johnnie got home he went down and helped. At nite we all went to Argyle & went to church.

Nov. 2. Sat. The boys & Florence husked corn in the forenoon. We did up the house work. In the afternoon Johnnie took the car to Argyle then he went to Granville to a football game with H. Snyder & other boys. In P.M. Jim went to Darfler's to get his car fixed. Oliver went hunting. At nite Jim went away. It rained just about all day.

Nov. 3. Sun. We did up the house work & did chores. We all went to church. We all stayed down in the afternoon but the boys. They had a women's meeting in afternoon & Mary kept Earl & Marion's children and we went to church. We went down at night & went to church. It was a cloudy day.

Nov. 4. Mon. Oliver and Florence went to school. We did ours & Liddle's washing. Miss Keyworth began staying this week. Jim went and got a load of potatoes and took them out and sold them. Busy & Johnnie picked apples. It was a good day.

Nov. 5. Tues. Oliver and Florence went to school. Marjory took Oliver and took a load of cider apples. We did the ironing in A.M. Johnnie & Busy picked up a load of cider apples. Afternoon we all except Johnnie went to Argyle to election. We took down the cider apples. Oliver stayed down to Marion's at nite. It was a good day. Jim went to West Hebron to drive C. Barkley's team on the road. Howard Mahaffy came at nite and telephoned. Jim went away at nite.

Nov. 6. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. The boys & Busy picked apples. We did up the house work. In afternoon we took down a load of cider apples. Marjory & baby took things down and stayed down to Marion 's all nite. It was a good day but cloudy and quite cold.

Nov. 7. Thurs. Oliver and Florence went to school. Johnnie took a load of cider apples. Jim went to Granville with John Liddle. Edna Liddle & the children were up here all day. At night the young folks went down to a social at church & Marjory & baby came up with Laurence. It was a good day.

Nov. 8. Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. Johnnie took a load of cider apples. Jim did up chores. Johnnie went down to the High school to help make the tennis court. In afternoon Mr. Peneau came and sold me two fire extinguishers. Jim & Florence took Mary Keyworth home because Jamey could not come after her. The boys went away & Busy went to Grange. Johnnie brought up Oliver.

Nov. 9. Sat. We did up the house work. The boys did up the chores.

Nov. 10. Sun. We all went to church except Earl he stayed at Marion's. Hazel & George & Minnie was at church and came up for dinner. Laurence was here. We brought Pendergrass' paper book and picked out paper. We all went to Argyle and I kept the baby to Mother's. It was a good day. In P. M. Nettie & boys came over a while.
Nov. 11. Mon. We did both washings. Jim took Oliver to school and brought Mother back up. He went to McNaughtons to get his car fixed but did not. Jim, Mother & I went to Mrs. Howard's funeral. The girls washed & cleaned the good room. It was not a very good drying day.

Nov. 12. Tues. Oliver and Florence went to school. We cleaned the parlor this forenoon. In afternoon we did the ironing. At nite we all except Jim & Marjory & baby went up to Hazel's. I stayed & kept Minnie up there and the rest went to the play. Jim went away. It was not a very good day.

Nov. 13. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. Joe Pendergrass came up and varnished the wood work the good room and did the ceiling. He stayed about ten hours then he went home. Then Johnnie & Busy painted the woodwork in the parlor before noon. In the afternoon the boys husked corn and finished it. It was a good day. Jim went to South Argyle to get his car fixed but could not.

Nov. 14. Thurs. Oliver and Florence went to school. Jim went to Dave Scally's and helped thrash. Joe Pendergrass came and papered all day. Johnnie helped him. We did up the house work. We kept the baby while Marjory & Laurence went to Albany after Mother. In afternoon Miss Keyworth came so as to be here to teach the next day. She had been sick.

Nov. 15. Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. We did up the house work. Joe Pendergrass came and papered in the forenoon. Johnnie went to Dave Scally's and helped thrash. Jim went to South Argyle at MacNaughton's and got his car fixed. It was a good day but kind of cold. Jim & Johnnie went away at nite.

Nov. 16. Sat. We did up the housework. Busy & I stained & varnished the floor in the spare room. The boys went to John Liddle's to thresh. They got home about middle of afternoon. Jim went away at nite. We all went down to Argyle. It was a good day but kind of cold.

Nov. 17. Sun. We did not any of us go to church. In the afternoon we went for a ride up to Granville and back around by Hazel's. and stayed a while. Dennis' were there. Marjory, Mary, Johnnie & Jim went to C.E. It was a good day but kind of cold. It rained all nite.

Nov. 18. Mon. Oliver & Florence went to school It was a bad day. We did not wash.

Nov. 19. Tues. Oliver and Florence went to school We did both washings. Jim went and sawed wood for Than McMillan. Joe Pendergrass finished papering today. Marjory & Busy took out a load of potatoes to Thoebe's. Marjory stayed down and went to Supper at church. Busy & Oliver came home and they had a flat tire and did not get home until dark. At nite about 9:00 Harry Smith's house burned. We saw it about the time it started but could not save it. It burned to the ground.

Nov. 20. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. The boys threshed and men came and helped. Busy & I took Oliver to school. In afternoon Marjory and I went to Carrie Beattie's funeral at the church. The engine broke and they quit thrashing about 4:00 It was a good day but cold.

Nov. 21. Thurs. (Busy's handwriting) Oliver and Florence went to school.

Nov. 22. Fri. Oliver and Florence went to school. We settled the parlor today and put down the carpet. We all went to Argyle at nite. Marjory went down to Lill. Y's. to a shower for Mary. Busy, Johnny & Jimmy went garange. Oliver, Florence & I kept Earl and Marion's children In the A.M. Jimmy took a load of cider apples. In P.M. Johnny took a grist to Fort Edward.

Nov. 23. Sat. In the A.M. Hazel and Minnie came down. The boys sorted all the cider apples. In the P.M. they took a load in both cars. and went down to Miller's to look at cows. In the P.M. Florence and I went home with Hazel to stay with Minnie while they went to a show but instead they went to a party.

Nov. 24. Sun. In the morning the rest of the folks came up to Hazel's and stayed for dinner. In the P.M. we came home. The roads are quite slippery. At nite Marj, Busy, Johnny & Jimmy went to C. E. (Marjory's handwriting)

Nov. 25. Mon. Oliver and Florence went to school. We did both washings. It was not a very good drying day.

Nov. 26. Tues. Oliver and Florence went to school. We did the ironing. We got the rest of the clothes down today.

Nov. 27. Wed. Oliver and Florence went to school. In morning John Liddle's folks came up and stayed most of forenoon. In the forenoon Fred Bennett came up to see Johnnie about working for him. It was a cloudy day.

Nov. 28. Thurs. The boys did up the chores. Laurence and Mother came up and had Thanksgiving dinner with us. In afternoon Johnnie & Oliver went to Hudson Falls to see a football game. At nite Johnnie & Jim went away and Mother rode home with them. In afternoon we tied a comfortable for Marjory until we run out of thread. It snowed & was cold.

Nov. 29. Fri. Florence went to school. John Liddle came up to see about the engine. We set up the stove in Marjory's room today. It was awful cold. I made Dorothy's Nightdrawers today. At nite Marjory & Laurence went up to Dinings to a party. She took them down to Dot. It was nice but cold. The boys shut the doors in the horse barn.

Nov. 30. Sat. We got out the sitting room stove and blacked it. We took the rug out and cleaned it. It was awful cold & windy all day. Howard Mahaffy came up in P.M. and telephoned. The boys listened to a football game over the radio. The boys went away at nite.

Dec. 1. Sun. We all went to church except Marjory, Earl & Johnnie. We went in Jim's car. We brought Ruth & Dorothy home with us. Marjory, Mary, Johnnie, Jim went to C. E. and took the girls home. It was a good day but quite cold.

Dec. 2. Mon. Oliver and Florence went to school. We did our washing. Alice Irwin's teaching down here and she is staying here. It snowed about all day. The clothes did not dry. Oliver began staying down to Marion's this week.

Dec. 3. Tues. Florence and Miss Irwin went to school. We got down most of the clothes to be ironed. Jim & Johnnie, Mary went to Argyle. Jim took out a load of potatoes and Mary went out and got a pair of shoes. The boys helped fix the booths at the grange hall. It was a cloudy day. We did most of the ironing.

Dec. 4. Wed. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. Marion came up and did her washing. and Most of it got dry and she took it home. John Liddle came up in forenoon and fixed the engine. In afternoon Dorothy tipped Earl off on the floor. It did not hurt him much. At nite we all went to Grange Fair except Marjory & Miss Irwin. It was a good day but cold. Jim took a load of potatoes in P.M.

Dec. 5. Thurs. Florence and Miss Irwin went to school. We finished taking down Marion's clothes. Jim took a load of potatoes out to Hudson Falls. At nite Jim took his car and went to Grange Fair and we all & Miss Irwin went with him. We were going with the Nash but they could not get it going so we went with Jim. I was a good day.

Dec. 6. Fri. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. Johnnie got out the Nash & was going to fix it but Jim had to take the part down to Argyle. At nite Jim took his car and went to the Grange Fair. We all started with the Nash. We run out of gas down below the lower place. Johnnie went back to John LIddle's and got some. When we got started on we got down all right. I stayed to Marion's and kept children and the rest went. Marjory & Florence came home early.

Dec. 7. Sat. We did up the house work. John Liddle came up and see about thrashing. Jim went down after Ed Burch. He came up and fixed the water pipe up to the barn. Then he took him back. John came up in afternoon and fixed the belt. It was a cloudy day and kind of cold. It snowed some.

Dec. 8. Sun. We did not go to church. We made some candy. At nite Jim, Johnnie, Mary & Marjory went to C. E. and stayed down for the other meeting. It was a good day but cold.

Dec. 9. Mon. Oliver & Florence went to school. Oliver went down with McKernon's. Jim took a load of potatoes. Then he went down to McNaughton's and brought up another car and went back and brought back his other one. The clothes got dry and we did most of the ironing. Miss Irwin came tonite to stay the rest of the week. Oliver stayed down to Marion's this week. John Liddle's family came up and spent the evening.

Dec. 10. Tues. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. Jim took Mary & I down to Argyle. I went with Marion out to Hudson Falls to see Dr. Craig about Helen. Mary stayed with the youngsters. Jim went to MacNaughton's and traded cars. Johnnie did chores in afternoon. It was a good day & not very cold.

Dec. 11. Wed. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. In forenoon Jim went to Argyle and brought Mother up. Then Jim, Mother & I went to Dr. McEachron's funeral. It was very large. About nite Jim took Mother home. He did not get back very early. Then they did chores. It was a good day but kind of cold.

Dec. 12. Thurs. Florence & Miss Irwin went to school. Jim went to Foster's to sort potatoes. Johnnie took out a grist & Marjory went to Argyle with him. Then she & Laurence went to Fort Edward & Glens Falls to the show at nite. I kept the baby. It was a good day but cold.

Dec. 13. Fri. Florence went to school. The boys sorted potatoes and took out a load to Fort Edward. In forenoon Clayton B. came up to telephone. The boys went away at night. It was a good day but cold. Helen came home with the boys. Busy went down and stayed with the rest of the children while Marion & Ed went to a party. She came home at night.

Dec. 14. Sat. We did up the house work. The boys went to the lower place & cut wood in the forenoon. In the afternoon they did chores & put some cement in the iron kettle at the cow barn.

Dec. 15. Sun. We did up the chores & house work. We all went to church except Busy, Marjory & Earl. Helen went and stayed home. Her & Florence just went down to Sunday School. Hazel, George & Minnie came down. At nite Liddle's came up & stayed quite a while. Johnnie, Jimmie, Marjory went to C. E. It was a good day. Busy didn't go because she had chill blanes so.

Dec. 16. Mon. We did up chores & house work. The boys took Oliver to school & took to Glens Falls 40 line roosters & some apples. We did the washing. The boys brought back eight roosters that died on way out. At nite we dressed them. It was a good day but cold. Florence went to school.

Dec. 17. Tues. The boys did chores & we did up the housework. Florence went to school. We did the ironing. At night Johnnie & Jimmie & I went to Argyle. It was raining and freezing and quite a number of limbs hanging low over the roads.

Dec. 18. Wed. We did up the house work. The boys did the chores. Florence went to school. The boys took five chickens and three bushel of potatoes out to Fort Edward and sold them. It rained & snowed and all froze on the trees. The telephone poles are all down between Argyle & Fort Edward and some electric light poles. It is not very good going. The telephone does not work. Laurence did not come up tonite.

Dec. 19. Thurs. We did up the house work. The boys did chores. Florence went to school. In afternoon we made ice cream. John L. came up the A.M. In the afternoon Laurence came up. Then he & Jim went down and cut the limbs out of the road. Then they went down and did His chores and came up for supper. At nite we went down to Argyle. Miss Irwin went down with us. It was a good day but kind of cold. After school Miss Irwin went down to Moody's.

Dec. 20. Fri. We did up the work. Johnnie did chores. Jim went to McGowan's to saw wood. In afternoon Marjory, baby, Mary & I went to school house to the Xmas tree. When we got back we got ready & went to Argyle. We all except Marjory & Earl went to Glens Falls. We took Oliver with us. He stayed down all nite. At nite Marjory & Laurence went to Fort Edward & came back and came home. We got home quite late. It was a cold day but good.

Dec. 21. Sat. We did up the house work. The boys did the chores. The boys went down to school house & got the Xmas tree and we set it up. Oliver stayed down and helped Ed draw coal. At nite Johnnie & Jim went away. Marjory & Laurence went to the Falls in the evening. Johnnie & Oliver came home with them. It was cold & windy today. I kept the baby.

Dec. 22. Sun. We did up the housework. The boys did the chores. We did not go to church because they did not have any on account of no electricity. Laurence came up for dinner. In afternoon Marjory & baby went down with Laurence and stayed until evening. At nite we went down to Marion's. In afternoon the boys & Florence went after a Xmas tree for Marion. At nite we took it down. It was a good day.

Dec. 23. Mon. We did up the house work but did not wash. The boys did the chores. In the forenoon Johnnie & I went away on business. In the afternoon we all except Marjory, Earl, Johnnie, Oliver went down to Argyle. Busy & Florence went to the S. S. Christmas party. We got home about 5:30. It snowed most of the afternoon and snowed hard. It is hard traveling. We opened our Xmas presents.

Dec. 24. Tues. We did up the house work & the boys did chores. Busy went down to Marion's with Laurence in the morning & stayed all nite and all day. In the afternoon Johnnie & I went to Fort Edward. Mother went with us. I dressed the turkey for Marion. It is pretty hard going because so much loose snow. Good day. Jimmie went away at nite.

Dec. 25. Wed. The boys did the chores & we did up the housework. Then we all went to Marion's for Christmas dinner. Mother & Hazel's folks & us were there. Marjory and Laurence went down to McWhorter's at nite. We came home & done chores then went back down in the evening. It was a good day but kind of cold.

Dec. 26. Thurs. The boys did the chores. And we did up the house work. The boys cut this Maple tree out in this three cornered piece in front of the horse barn. I made Florence's bloomers. It was a good day but kind of cold.

Dec. 27. Fri. The boys did chores & we did the house work. Jim went to David Foster's and helped sort potatoes. The other boys put up a grist and took it and left it because they could not get it ground. At night we all except Oliver, Marjory & Earl went to Argyle. Busy went to Grange. I stayed with the children while Marion & Ed went a party.

Dec. 28. Sat. We did up the house work. The boys did the chores. They sorted potatoes and Jim took out a load and went to get his license but the office was closed. The other boys took a load and brought back the grist. Busy came home with the boys. Florence stayed down. Jimmie went down to McNaughton's. In afternoon Clayton Barkley came up and wanted to hire a man. So Jimmie hired out to him for a month and is to go 2 January. It was a good day but cold.

Dec. 29. Sun. We did up the house work and the boys did the chores. We all went to Argyle to church except Marjory and she stayed to Mother's. and after church she went down to McWhorter's. Florence came home with us from church. At night Jim, Johnnie & Busy went to C. E. Marjory & Laurence brought home Marion's washing. It rained & snowed some today. The boys were going to thrash but couldn't get help enough. J. Liddle came up in morning.

Dec. 30. Mon. Florence went to school. We did ours & Marion's washing. We sent Marion's down with Jimmie. He went out and got his license. The boys did chores. It was a good day. We ironed some in afternoon. Harry Smith came a while. The engine busted & Johnnie took it apart and we had to have a new part for it. The boys went to Argyle at nite. They telephoned to Hudson Falls and they had the part.

Dec. 31. Tues. Florence went to school. We did house work and the boys did chores. Jimmie went to D. Foster's and helped sort potatoes. In afternoon we all went to Argyle. Busy & Marion kept John Liddle's children while they went to the church to Joe Smith's funeral. Then Marion, Busy, Marjory went to the cemetary with Laurence. Johnnie & Oliver went to cemetary. We came home and Marjory & baby stayed down to Mother's until night. Hazel left Minnie down to Marion's while they went to the funeral. At night Johnnie went to Hudson Falls after the part for the engine. I kept Earl at Mother's while the young folks went to the Parsonage to the C. E. Christmas tree. Oliver didn't go. It was a good day but cold.
